Siobhan Magnus American Idol

Siobhan Magnus is a finalist on American Idol 9. She born March 15, 1990 and is from Cape Cod, Massachusetts.

She is currently the only contestant from the state of Massachusetts to become a Top 12 finalist in American Idol history.

Siobhan Magnus has an uncle who played bass for ’80s metal band Stryper (Yahoo)

She has an Edward Gorey tattoo (Siobhan Magnus Tattoo), on her left wrist are the words “I find hope” in Swahili and on her right wrist is a heart with an X through it.

She previously fronted an alt-rock band called Lunar Valve which last played in 2009. She’s a cat lover and misses taking care of her younger sisters. She loves scary movies and is a babysitter extraordinare.

The first time she sang in front of people was in fourth grade when she sang “Sun Will Come Out Tomorrow” from Annie.

Her favorite performance on American Idol was Fantasia Barrino singing “Summertime” (Fantasia Barrino Summertime). “That was the most incredible performance in the entire series,” she said.

Magnus credits her mother, Colleen, with encouraging her to audition in Boston last summer. Figuring she had nothing to lose, Magnus says, she counted on being able to differentiate herself from other contestants by dressing in a somewhat funkier fashion (which she has) and by bringing a blues-soul vibe to her performing (which she also has).
