Arrest Warrant Issued for Bill Cosby Over 2004 Sexual Assault Claim (See His Mugshot)
An arrest warrant has been issued for disgraced comedian Bill Cosby for the alleged 2004 assault of Andre Constand, the then operations manager for the Temple University women’s basketball team.
According to Pennsylvania prosecutors, Cosby is being charged with a first degree felony for aggravated indecent assault.
Costand claims that Cosby drugged her with pills he said were herbal supplements used for relaxation and then sexually assaulted her while she was in a semi-conscious state.
Despite the claims of sexual assault by over 50 women and his own deposition admissions that he has purchased pills to drug women and have sex with them, this is the first time Cosby has been charged criminally.
He and Costand previously reached a settlement in their case in civil court, but it was reopened following new information which came to light in July.
The statute of limitations on the 2004 assault ends in January, meaning this charge came in just under the wire.
UPDATE: As expected, Bill Cosby was arraigned today and his bail set at $1 million. Cosby did not enter a plea but was released on bail after paying ten percent and surrendering his passport.
