‘Argo’ wins big at BAFTA
FilmThe British Academy Film Awards just wrapped, and though ‘Argo’ was ultimately the big winner (taking home awards for Best Film, Best Editing and Best Director for Ben Affleck), the wealth was spread out in such a way that I’m beginning to think the Brits have better Oscars than we do (although, actually, I’ve suspected this since around 2007). But then, that’s only one man’s opinion – an opinion largely catalyzed by Emmanuelle Riva’s well-deserved (though not necessarily surprising) Best Actress win for ‘Amour’ – a performance so heartbreaking I never want to see it again. And I mean that as only the highest praise.
