Apple To Rebrand OS X To MacOS

Apple is about to rebrand their desktop operating system OS X to MacOS. The company made the reference in a new environmental webpage in honor of Earth Day 2016.

According to The Verge, an earlier version of the page wrote: “Years of use, which are based on first owners, are assumed to be four years for MacOS and tvOS devices and three years for iOS and watchOS devices.”

“MacOS” has since been changed back to OS X.

Apple has been using MacOS to refer to OS X for a while now but no official announcement yet. We may see an announcement this June during Apple’s WWDC developers conference.
