‘American Idol’ Winner Nick Fradiani Breaks Wrong Sales Record

“American Idol” winner Nick Fradiani finally released his debut album “Hurricane” after nearly two years of recording. The good news is that it charted.

The Season 14 winner landed at #121 on the Billboard 200 chart this week, marking the fourteenth time an Idol winner has done so.

The bad news is that Fradiani now holds the record for lowest sales debut of an Idol winner. “Hurricane” moved 5,000 units breaking the record of Season 13 winner Caleb Johnson of 11,000 units.

How will Season 15 winner Trent Harmon fare? I’m so worried now. Just two years ago, FOX kept on promoting that American Idol makes stars. What happened?
