American Idol to introduce new SuperVote feature
You’ve always wanted to cast 50 votes for your favorite contestant at once on American Idol. Now, you can!
Beginning during tomorrow’s live show and the first night in which voting is in America’s hand, American Idol is introducing their new “SuperVote” feature in which fans can cast 50 votes all at once. Online voting was first introduced in 2011.
Viewers will be able to SuperVote – cast multiple votes at one time – via any of these AT&T AMERICAN IDOL VOTE destinations: americanidol.com, the AMERICAN IDOL mobile app (data and message rates may apply) and Facebook. To SuperVote, fans can allocate any number of votes for one contestant or multiple contestants, for a total of 50 votes (across all online voting destinations), and in a unique interactive experience, they can adjust their vote selections as performances happen during the show. When the voting window officially opens, fans can submit their final votes – all at once. [Only fans with a registered Facebook account in the U.S., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands will be able to cast their vote(s) online.]
The 10 girl semifinalists take the stage for the first time tomorrow, Tuesday, March 5 (8:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed), and the 10 guy semifinalists sing their hearts out for America and the judges on the following nightWednesday, March 6 (8:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed). Then, this season’s finalists will be announcedThursday, March 7 (8:00-9:30 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed) on FOX.
Does this change the game!?

Got Something to Add?
If I read it correctly, this just means you can vote your allotment of 50 votes through FB at one time instead of having to sit there forever. So it doesn't really make MORE votes, just faster
@KariCook And therefore in the hour of voting you can actually vote more, plus 50 in fact.
@Rickey Yeah, I get what you're saying. I kind of like it just b/c if I like anyone enough to vote, I'll do the online method of spreading them out one time instead of having to keep doing it over and over. I don't think I ever hit the 50 mark last year though. So they would be getting more votes from the lazier people. (Like me)
@KariCook And those who vote only ONCE can now instatly power vote for FIFTY.
