Season 9 winner Lee DeWyze performs his new single, “Silver Linings”, while Season 10 finalist Stefano Langone also performs. Also, Ryan Seacrest promised a surprise twist in the competition. What will it be? No elimination? One girl advancing to top three while the other three compete next week for the other two spots? The show needs to find a way to add an extra week to the competition, so it’ll be interesting to see what they’ve come up with.

I don't know why ppl are so afraid to talk about racism in America.  This is United States of America not United States of Utopia.  Racism does exist here and every mutli-cultural country.  And if ppl perceive there's racism, they should be able to point it out, and not being dismissed as using the "race card".

If it were Utopia, based on Wednesday night, Angie and Candice should have been in top 2, if based on season, Candice and Kree should be in top 2.  If Candice is in the B2 with another black contestant, yes, it does smell fishy.

But it was a result not that surprising to me.  I had said in previously that there are only enough black R&B votes to go around in each season and Candice and Amber were splitting votes, even though Amber is more pop-influenced than R&B (she wants to be Celine Dion more than Mary J. Blige) , but America just lumps her into R&B because, well, she's black.  If she were white, she'll be labeled pop and "original" like how they the fans are labeling Angie.

If it were Utopia, everyone's color blind and AI voting is based on musical tastes, then the two similarly young pop tarts Angie and Amber should be splitting votes and land in B2, while the two musically diverse powerhouse singers of country and R&B, Kree and Candice, be in the top 2.

Why does the race card have to be played every single time 2 black contestants land in the bottom 2. What about the Hispanic guys that landed in the bottom two several weeks ago? No racism there? What about the anti-penis campaign this season? lols  Where are the fracking ASIAN contestants? Come on now. Amber sucked and all the over pimping backfired. Candice went first and she wasn't stellar and everyone was in SAVE KREE mode this week. There are only 4 people left so that scenario was bound to happen.  Angie has been getting the votes from the get go and her momentum has been growing. However I still have hope for Kree or Candice winning because the south is still strong.  lols   Can't we just enjoyed the damn show without the stupid race card shite. A Candice/Kree finale would be ideal but it will probably be Candice/Angie finale. Dang it!

Angie was always the clear winner. She will make the finale. She will reprise her original song. She will win. The issue is that Angie can sell millions as a christian contemporary artist, be successful and happy, and it won't matter to Idol.

The problem Idol faces today is that its target demo in the post-Simon era is literally the anti-progressive "older southern woman." Having said that, they're absolutely desperate to get the Hollywood sparkle back. For the past few seasons, they figured sales would do the trick, so they pimped white boys with guitars. Wrong! This season, they're looking to make a celebrity. That is why they're pimping Amber, whom I normally like. She's badass and progressive as an individual, even if you feel her performances are dated or her vocal prowess isn't up to par. They want an Angie/ Amber finale because they want to feed their target while still obtaining their best shot at creating a Hollywood starlet.

Season 6 all over again.... THE TWO BLACK GIRLS will NOT MAKE the finale. It's sad but AMERICA is so racist.

As I made it clear and predicted earlier, the next American Idol will be won by a white singer - most likely Angie - due to the following reasons:

            1. The four female contestants are all equally super talented that determining who is best and second best is just impossible, if not improbable.

            2. Skin color will rear its ugly head together with physical beauty which shall include face, height and bulk - in this particular case Angie will have the advantage over Kree in terms of horizontal and vertical assets.

            3. Demographics therefore shall play a pivotal role in the next American Idol 12 winner - assuming of course that white voters far outnumber black voters. While the Hispanics and Asian votes tend to go for the white votes, the male votes tend to go to whoever is the better looking white singer which in this case is no other than Angie Miller.

Though this analysis may appear weird, I can only say that life is just the way it is and nobody can do anything about it. Just see the current results: the two white girls in the top 2 and the two black females in the bottom 2.

Just one note of exception: Though Fantacia (she's black) won over her white competitor (was she De Garmo?) during the finale, the reason being that the latter was glaringly became out of tune in one of her high pitch songs that losing it was already preordained.

So, advance congratulations ANGEI MILLER - you deserve it.

The other interesting statistic is Rickey.org poll takers now have Angie the sole clear favorite by 2 to one. Usually that type of statistic makes it hard for the others to catch and surpass. All three rated at the same 20% of the vote.

So is the first time in this site polling history that "no one" was actually eliminated?

Wow, watching the video clip again it's clear Candice really thought she was going home tonight. Sad.  With combined votes, though, both she and Amber start in the hole for next week so they have to crush the voting to survive.  Looks like VFTW came through for Kree, =)

i hope angie wins , i think she is the most marketable post idol , and could do decent,  not sure about kree , but i don't see candice or amber being high sellers , there have been better singers then them that have gone to low selling records.

I think Angie kind of has to be the odds-on favorite to win now, if she wasn't before. Although I guess there's still one more week for her to bottom 2 before they stop revealing the bottom 2, and simply reveal the results.

But still, you'd have to go back to Clay vs. Ruben to find a finale where someone who's been in the bottom 2 before defeated someone who's never been.

KREE AND CANDICE FOR THE WIN!!! KICK SOME ASS NEXT WEEK GIRLS!!!

@IdleTime Well, because people bringing up racism with no real proof or call for it is boring. Did anyone call racism last week when two white girls were in the bottom? Have the headlines pointed out the misandry when five boys in a row been eliminated? No. But this week, when the results don't agree with your idea of how things should go, you call racism with no real proof, just conjecture and anger.

@ArchieSue kree and whoever is fine by me i really dont care lol..........the race card thing is a bit silly ....i loved zonette but couldnt be bothered with amber.....does that make me racist....or just slightly a bit nuts lol....if anything kills it for candice it will be her demeanor on live TV which at times is not the most pleasant

@djfabian agree, maybe it's true there are some people still think racist, but it doesn't mean all the people like that

@djfabian I hate it when people feel like there's no way it can possibly be race. It's sadly, very narrowminded.

Yeah but that was how many years ago was that and since then whatsthe type of contestant to win these shows? White guys with guitars. And last year and the last two seasons we haven't had an black singer make the finale since season six. And I don't think Candice deserved to be In the bottom as much as Kree did considering she wasn't the best either and I'm so sick of Angie doesn't matter if she won the night she's basically the kind of artist we've seen on this show already and I feel like it's time to have a different singer win this show.

    AdrianS
    AdrianS

Though I see some of you're points to be valid and I do like the fact that race is brought up in this case and it is unfair to the other black singers cause I think Candice is far superior to Angie. You never know if Angie will win and I seriously hope she doesn't win she's good but I feel Candice deserves it

@LinBrand she also looked pissed like what do u mean im in the bottom....

    AdrianS
    AdrianS

@abercrombieco2 True she is the most marketable but that being said I don't want to see her win, I want a Candice and Kree finale and as for Amber I wouldn't say she'll go on to do bad but she's not gonna be huge.

    djfabian
    djfabian

@NickRoman1 although fantasia was bottom 2 twice and won and kris allen won too after being in the bottom...although both were against others who had been in the bottom

    darahmude
    darahmude

@NickRoman1 i can say the one and only never been on the bottom 2 is MY ANGIE......

    IdleTime
    IdleTime

@hrstump @IdleTime 99% of the things said in this forum or elsewhere is conjectures.  Example, what concrete proof does anyone of us have to claim that TPTB wants Amber in the finale and/or win?  We have taped conversations in their private meetings?  No, we all project b/c we don't like Amber and thinks she sucks.  Why not calling that conjecture boring?

Re top 5.  In a field of 3 white girls and 2 black girls, 2 white country singers in the B2 doesn't ring a bell of racism.  And since when white contestants are underrepresented in AI winner's circle for that to be an issue anyway?

    AdrianS
    AdrianS

That is the one thing I don't understand is why people keep on mentioning that about Candice cause I don't see a problem. I really want a Kree and Candice finale anybody except for f---ing Angie.

    ArchieSue
    ArchieSue

@Mikhail XO @ArchieSue True but I think Fanny and Jordin did ok after idol. Idol is a popularity contest and the most popular one usually wins. I'm waiting for an Asian idol to win on day. hahha Idol has cast so many crappy Asian singers in the past. Any who I really don't look at the race and why should we? We should all be color blind and vote for who we like as a singer. Really it's not that serious people, it's just a reality tv show.

@takakupo @djfabian As someone who likes all four girls, I don't think there is a race issue this season. Here's the deal; Candice and Amber are the most progressive girls. They're relevant and cool as people. The target demo is conservative and traditional. That demo favors Angie and Kree. Kree, by the way, seems like a very cool girl to me. She just hasn't been given the opportunity to tell us about herself.

    JoeTranch
    JoeTranch moderator

@Mikhail XO I agree. What I meant was that Amber is their best shot, so they've invested the effort in her. I don't really care about who wins at this point, but I do click around. If you look at Angie's twitter, she's posting bible verses. If you look at Amber's, she's fighting for marriage equality. What's interesting is that I'm pretty sure the show tells them not to get controversial or political, yet I think that's why they're secretly (but obviously) backing Amber. Throw in a few tattoos, a nose piercing, and she's "relevant." This is American Idol 2013.

    AdrianS
    AdrianS

I agree. I knew that Amber would be there in the bottom but I expected that Kree would be in the bottom as well not Candice.

    lowtides
    lowtides

@Mikhail XO @lowtides Amber had the best performance of the season! She has a natural, raw talent that shines through.

She is Tamyra Gray and Vonzell Solomon level talent.

    IdleTime

Well, at least you're trying to disprove the race theory with reasons, rather than summarily dismiss the whole issue altogether, condescendingly telling ppl to stop whining about it.

I agree that Amber is B2 material and should even be eliminated. But Candice being there with her smells racism.  The vote splitting is really black vote splitting, not R&B.  Amber is pop and is more similar to Angie than she is to Candice.  She covers pop hits more often than she does R&B (if ever).  Since top 10, when themes are not restricting her, she chooses to cover Celine, Streisand, Heart, Mariah Carey, Kelly Clarkson (her AI Idol of choice).  There are more blues in Kree's tone than there are in Amber's.

So if vote splitting is the theory, she shouldn't be vote splitting with Candice who doesn't sound much like her at all.

    hrstump

@IdleTime @hrstump Well, the difference between people offering opinions on why a contestant seems overly praised versus making accusations of something as serious as racism are very different. And with two of four finalists being African American proving racism is the first thing that comes to my mind. Whatever.

    JoeTranch

@Mikhail XO Right! =) I know she has the tats and a nose ring she flips up to hide on stage. It was one of the six "things we don't know about her." She also likes her climate kept at 90 degrees. Edgy!

    AdrianS
    AdrianS

@takakupo @AdrianS She don't she's a great singer but is boring at times but I think fans rallied behind her after all of the bashing she received from the judges. Candice just wasn't the best this week but i thought was still good.
