Another amazing episode of Idol. The girls absolutely killed it tonight. Simply the best Top 4 this show has ever produced. So glad we got to watch them together for one more week. Amazing. Amazing. I can’t pick who’s going home. They were that good!

to save you all trouble im 90% sure amber is going home tonight , and kree will probally go next week having a candice vs angie finale and angie wins.
Rickey's poll indicates that Candice was last nights big winner. She increased her points by 7 percentage points over last week. The three remaining contestants each lost around 2 points. Overall the most favored is again Angie with around 38 percent, which remains over 10 points ahead of Candice. I believe the Amber's run in this competition is about to end tonight.
Amber is easily the weakest talent-wise of the group...and not strong enough emotionally to handle what business is going to give her. Unfortunately the judges pushed and pushed her and I think she was beginning to believe the hype...and now things are crashing down around her. The judges did her a major disservice by not being honest with her and helping her grow. She doesn't understand what she is singing, doesn't understand what makes a good song, and doesn't understand stage presence. Randy did all o f the contestants zero good when he went on about "Church singers" and runs. Good singers know when to use the runs and when not to. I think Harry's explanation to Kree about melody and when to vary was great...thought a bit scatter brained.
The top performer of the night was easily Candice...who, not surprise to me, stayed with the straight song the most and didn't have to try and do a bunch of fancy runs to get it across. Her renditions were spectacular, and while she did add her own flourishes, those changes did not affect the general tenor of the song. When Amber did the run on the word Day to the end it totally took away from the song. It was as if the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier decided to suddenly do a cartwheel. It would be impressive, but totally take away from the ceremony. That not lends a brightness to the song...she totally lost that brightness by doing her thing.
Angie wasn't as strong as last week but her performances were solid overall and should get her through.
I think Kree has the most to worry about. She was strong on her first number, and I slightly agree with Randy on her second song but I would have liked to have seen her take it further country a-la Patsy Cline. She had some country style twang in the song but I think it would have been special with a more traditional country backing.
I still like Amber very much. I think she is a person who could really make it in the biz. She is young, gorgeous, enthusiastic and a wonderful singer. I do think she will blossom, winning or not.I find Kree very boring and she does not seem to connect with songs. I find Angie to be a beautiful girl and very talented, but her singing is not the best. She is lucky to be able to play the piano, and she has a great personality so I think she has a shot in the biz. Candice has been outshining all others vocally. She must have been singing all her life. I do not see much of a personality at this point. You never know who will win this because of the young age of the majority of voters.
Show was boring, boring, boring. What happened to the so-called "talent"??? Harry Connick Jr. was a terrible mentor and his treatment of Amber will undoubtedly send her home (but perhaps she was going anyway :( He also didn't do Kree any favors either. Hopefully they will never have him back.
I'm so sick of Nicky and her childish voices and ridiculous comments. Mariah can't talk (and make much sense), and Keith has the same criticism of each contestant. I tuned out on Randy years ago.
kree was tops in my opinion last night.....i found a certain disconnect with candice doing bruno marrs song......kree's take on carrie underwood was hands down the best moment of the night
They're combining votes from last week, so it will be Amber who's leaving.
Candice was back on her game tonight. Wish she had sung the Bruno Mars song with just the piano, like the original. Great song choice and the not changing the gender... very cool and artistic.
I knew she would kill with the standards and boy did she not disappoint. It was fantastic on every level, making everyone else look like amateurs. Well, I personally think she has done that for the whole season.
Kree might be second to her, but she's a distant second.
Tonight was pretty terrible, I *hate*, hate, HATE when they do the current song shit on idol. It's a stupid theme which in theory is supposed to show who could have a record out now, except that it almost does the opposite since current songs are almost never believable on anyone else except for the original artist, it all just ends up sounding karaoke (unless you're country since country music seems to keep closer to its roots than other genres). So I pretty much am ignoring the first four songs, I didn't think any of them were that great. Kree's was pretty good.
As for the rest of the show, Candice's "You've Changed" was so head and shoulders above anything anyone else sang tonight. I kind of hate that they have been telling her not to be old-fashioned because I think she's at her best when she sings with a throwback vibe like she did tonight, kinda bluesy, kinda jazz, kind of old-school. I hate when she's overtly trying to be R&B or sing a power ballad because she's got so much character in her voice and it's been in and out and back and forth this whole season for me.
Angie Miller stole last week out from under everyone and ran with it laughing the whole way. Since the votes from last week and this week are going to be combined I think it's probably mathematically impossible for her to go home tomorrow, even if she had bombed tonight.
I think the bottom two will either be the same as last week, or be Amber and Kree with Amber getting the boot.
hahaha... your poll is so inaccurate since majority of your voters is from the philippines and they don't like country music.
At this point i can't pick to eliminate any of the remaining four, but if i had to choose, id give Kree the boot tomorrow. Somehow i fear it'll be Amber though. Candice was ON GAME this week so it would be just unfair is she goes.. As for Angie, LOL i'll be BEYOND surprised to see her leave...
What i fancy (1st - 4th)
What i think will go down (1st - 4th)
candice was boring , she won't sell too many copies if she wins or is the runner up. they dismantle angie on her singing , but candice over sung her first song and they thought it was great.
@Mikhail XO While I'd like that to happen, I don't see how's that mathematically possible, even if Angie's the lowest votegetter this week. Based on what we know and speculation, she was probably ranked #1 last week, and Amber #4. This week, even if Angie is #4, I don't see Amber ranked higher than #3. When you average/combine the two weeks, Angie won't rank lower than #3. It's Amber who's most likely ranked #4 combining two weeks.
@jbeee Great comments. Funny you brought Patsy Cline up. I thought why they didn't allow Kree to pick a Patsy Cline song. The theme is "standards". That can stretch to old country standards like "Crazy" etc. I mean, they've stretched their themes in the past to where it doesn't make sense anymore. On rock week, they let Amber did a power ballad so...
@dibbee I don't watch much of the packages presented, but when performing I think Candice exhibits more charisma and "personality" than Amber (and Kree). Amber looks often confused and tentative on stage. There's a disconnect between the "bubbly" girl in the video packages and the girl performing, which Nicki finally pointed out last night. And Keith said it best that it's not that easy to connect the two personas. It takes years and years of being comfortable with/ oneself. Who knows if Amber will ever get there? At her age of 19, Kelly Clarkson got that in spades already.
@djfabian- Kree's take on Carrie was karaoke at best.
dude, you have to consider that americans dig their country music and would die for it. with that said, even if kree sings something to make you fall asleep, she'll still get tons of votes.
@Noriek I'm not a big fan of Kree either. She's been really boring since the competition has started and hasn't really emphasized why she is special at all. I don't recall any of her performances standing out.
I'd rather see Angie go just because I know what she's all about and I don't think she deserves to win. It would be cool to have Amber make the top 3 and just give everyone the Kree and Candice finale that they want with Candice winning.
Are you serious? Candice isn't boring. She clearly out sang Angie tonight and she definitely is the best singer out of the four. Angie is good but not great.
@AdrianS i think kree stole the night....crazy judge antics aside....her take on carrie underwood was stunning
@AdrianS Angie's doing some weird voodoo stuff, I'm telling you. It's been like that since the start of the competition.
@AdrianS yes i'm serious , that's my opinion , i don't see any marketability with her , when idol is over with , i can easily see angie outselling candice , what kind of music would candice even sing? angie is more current.
@AdrianS if past idol proves what will happen , there have been many singers just like her on idol , that haven't been heard from when they left idol. like i said its my opinon that she isn't as good as people make her out to be.
Well that's obvious that Candice is an R&B singer so how is that even a question as to what she'll sing? And yeah Angie is more current but I still say Candice is better and she very well could do well in the market as well.?
