This "10" thing ...odd.

@realphill Even though Nigel Lythgoe swears he never wanted the show to have a top 12 or top 13 (he's always just wanted a top 10), I think they'll still end up adding wildcards, if only because this would put the finale somewhere towards the beginning of May instead of at the end, as it has been. And given what a moneymaker the show still is for FOX (dwindling ratings notwithstanding), I can't imagine why on Earth they would schedule FEWER live shows. 

But you never know. They could just be trying to make this a leaner season, for whatever reason.
