Alex Wong and Twitch Boss dance Hip-Hop on So You Think You Can Dance
Music: Outta Your Mind
Choreography: Nappy Tabs
OMG Go Alex! That was sensational! Amazing! Unbelievable!
Adam Shankman: This is your world and I’m just visiting.
Mia Michaels: Who the hell are you? You have defied everything about the ballet world. I am completely shocked.
Nigel Lythgoe: To Nappy Tabs: The best routine you’ve ever done on the show. At the end of the day this is a ballet dancer doing the most incredible hip-hop routine.

Holding your own on a stage with Twitch speaks for itself.
What I love about Alex, besides his obvious brilliance, is that he just loves to dance. You can tell that the only reason he's up their is for the simple joy of dancing.
Alex, care to father my children? I joke...
I love Twitch! Alex and Twitch had great chemistry but I still love him the best with Kherrington. This routine has moved Alex to my top spot - it is pop-culture poetry in motion!
Great job to the both of them. Strange how both the ballet dancers meshed with Twitch!
The only thing that is now absolutely certain is that Alex will NOT win this competition. The best dancer has never won -- not once... and the judges have been unanimous on that score. And there is absolutely no question that Alex is the best of a very strong season. The winner will be some smiling B-team charmer like Jose or Kent or that blond with the wardrobe malfunction..
Loved this...I love the therapist/client theme and the whole ending with tWitch "if you can't beat em join em" thing. Amazing!! Check out AW doing single ladies on youtube! That is fun and shows just how talented he is.
And BTW I do NOT think that this routine was easy at all, it looked easy because both of them are so talented. They were in perfect sync when they were supposed to be and neither one of them missed anything. Just perfection!!!
I think it is a great opportunity for him to dance in SYTYCD
He can be a famous dancer because of this show.
I believe that more and more people will know his name. Not only famous in Miami or America, but all over the world.
It is definitely a right choice for you to choose SYTYCD. ALEX WONG~~~~~~~~~
Since I don't have American television anymore, I have to rely on Rickey's video posts to watch this show now. This is the only video that I watched twice. Alex kept me interested the entire time, and he's made me eager to see what other styles he can conquer.
I am not in love with this season like I have been with seasons past. I love the All Star concept, but they are seriously showing up the contestants. Part of the reason that I loved the show was because everyone was more or less on even ground. Some dancers were magnificent in their own styles, but their partners were lost. The next week, the roles were reversed, or they were both in unfamiliar territory. I liked this! Please let this be the last All Star season for a while. I am also kind of disappointed in the lack of personality in this season's crop of dancers. Am I wrong about that?? I don't think that I will fondly remember any of these kids in a couple of seasons.
OMG!!!!!!! ALEX WONG IS HAWT!!!!!!!!!!! GO ALEX!!!!!!! Ur the best!!!!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i don't know, it was good, but not the best to me.. I've much preferred other routines in SYTYCD history. But it's cool. I thought Alex could have been sharper, and the choreography does look a bit simple compared to other routines I've seen.
Was not a fan of Alex Wong at all before this performance. Personally, I did not even see the hype around his "Hallelujah" performance. But after seeing him miraculously hold his own against Twitch, I'm blown away by him. One of the best performances ever by somebody on the show, let alone this outside of their own style.
I was so nervous for him doing this. Being a ballet dancer, it's hard to have very sharp movements rather than flowing movements. But Alex blew it out of the water! He showed that ballet dancers can be tough and get out of their comfort zone! Goodjob Alex!
He'll do fine. Check him out on YouTube. He's been practicing other stuff. As others have stated, this was mesmerizing because it told a story, was fun, had 2 guys, the idea of the student becoming the teacher, etc. Alex had so much personality in this dance. Like Ade, he can be overly serious but both of them exuded fun in their routines. I love Twilex!
good solid and strong routine. a very fun concept. what got me irritated was that the show made it seem like this was THEE 1st time ever that two guys were dancing with each other. nigel said that it wasnt normal. whats so "un-normal" about that??
Yes, this kid Alex so talented and this dance he did with Twitch was so worth waitng for- Loved it. Yes he should win!!!
I was so worried when he was paired with Twitch, the best hip-hopper ever....but WOW! This proves he is so talented. He can do anything!!!!!!!
I honestly thought I'd be spending the whole time watching Twitch, and Alex would be an afterthought. Boy, it wasn't that way at all! Alex is amazing!
Every time I watch this video, I tell myself it's the last time... and then I feel the need to see it just one more time. :D
I gotta give it up to Alex! That was incredible! Nappy Tabs, what can I say, you guys constantly give the contestants some really dope routines. I love the male-male partnership, more of that please!!! :)
It felt like the choreography was a little basic compared to other hip-hop routines. Because he performed the basic steps cleanly (and people were expecting the worst) it appeared more impressive than others. I'm thought the judges were going to mention this but they were too busy clapping.. haha.
This is talent period. His dancing is incredible and for the judges to find fault in his dancing is always a desperate attempt to seem like they have something over on this kid-they don't-he is just talented at dance. Tired of Kent's deer in the headlight cutsey and Jose gets by on a great smile. Robert is okay but just doesn't have the package and Adechike is getting better. The girls just don't stack up this season so for any one else to win would simply be an injustice.
I totally thought this was going to be another over-hyped performance... but it wasn't!!!! That was freakin' fantastic! I've been waiting for a REALLY good hip hop routine for a couple seasons and it's so funny that it came from a BALLET dancer! This guy can do anything... If he doesn't win this, something is wrong.
just amazing with a capital A!!! He is so cute and was so proud of himself he couldn't stop laughing! Adorable!
HOLY FREAKIN' SHIIIIIIII!!!!! That gives hope for us ballerinas everywhere who've always thought we can never pull off hiphop o.0
He's a dancing sponge. If he can see it, he can replicate it. That's why it is so great that he has 'experts' in each genre to mimic. I'm so enjoying watching him. He has unbelievable talent and charisma!
Alex is so cool! He should win after this hip hop routine. I thought his Hallelujah interpretation was the best I've seen, but I think I like this even more! Impressive!
This proves what I've been saying all of my life - that a good ballet background will make any dance style look great! Alex rocked it! Outstanding!
That was FANTASTIC.
I've been dreading him doing hiphop. I mean I just thought he was going to completely bomb at it and look ridiculous.
But boy did he prove me wrong! He was AMAZING.
Actually, it's funny you mentioned that. Tabitha and Napoleon said in an interview after the show last night that they tried to give some of the choreography to a different couple in the previous season and they came back the next day and asked for something different because it was too hard.
To clarify... I didn't say that the dance didn't look good or that it was simple... I mentioned that in my opinion it was simple COMPARED to other routines.
More than anyone the choreographers should be hailed for making a believable routine that consisted of a lot of repetition (even if it was fast repetition), music with relatively uncomplicated beats (as compared to http://www.rickey.org/?p=4272, for instance), without complicated characters (as compared to playing a battered girlfriend or an 'angry gansta'), with relatively little stage coverage, and with a song and concept that fit the situation of the contestant. In fact all choreographers should aim to make their dancers look this good.
no.. it looked easy because the dancers made it look like it's easy. that's the beauty of this routine.
The steps were simple? Some of it sure, but did you not see the end of that routine w/ the fast foot work?
And even though some of the steps were simple, he still did them VERY well. He actually hit things the way they needed to be hit.
