Adam Lambert to front Queen at Sonisphere Festival 2012

Queen will be performing at the Sonisphere Festival on July 7 in the UK with American Idol runner up Adam Lambert as their lead singer.

You know what pisses me off about this? Adam Lambert took the time to call a reporter a liar for breaking the news about this a couple of weeks ago after interviewing him. And now this news comes out that it was true all along.

What kind of person does this? He should just shut his mouth and not blame others for his failure to keep things under wraps.

And besides, he’s no Freddie Mercury. Not. Even. Close.

With a quarter of a century having since passed, rock legends QUEEN are to return to play a second concert at the venue that provided them with the setting for one of their biggest and most historic concerts.

QUEEN’s Brian May and Roger Taylor have confirmed the band will headline the second day of SONISPHERE appearing on the APOLLO stage on Saturday July 7. KNEBWORTH was the setting for QUEEN’s final concert with Freddie Mercury in August 1986.

May and Taylor also confirmed that for this very special event they will be joined by US singer-songwriter ADAM LAMBERT.

The potent chemistry between QUEEN and Lambert broke the surface when at the invitation of Brian May and Roger Taylor, Lambert joined them for the closing showcase at the recent MTV Europe Awards where QUEEN were present to collect their Global Icon award.

Says Brian May: “Judging by my incoming mail, this decision will make a lot of people very happy. It’s a worthy challenge for us, and I’m sure Adam would meet with Freddie’s approval! And what better place to revisit, and walk those emotional paths than Knebworth? It will be a rush.”

@Mikhail XO Some of them hate me no matter what I say. I say something nice, they say I'm pandering, I say something bad, they say I hate Adam. Can't win with some of these people. So I'm just being honest. He's no Freddie Mercury. Not even close.

He's the closest to Freddie that I've heard - he sings those Queen songs so well - plus it's Brian May and Roger Taylor who have invited him, I don't think they care that you don't approve.

I don't get why you hate on Adam Lambert so much, even if he did lie who cares? No one is trying to replace Freddie Mercury, but this is sure as hell a step up from Queen+Paul Rodgers tour. Just enjoy it for what it is and keep the real stories coming, I was too embarrassed to visit this site for a long time when the top always had Christina's tampon, or nude Scarlet pics. Don't sell out.

@michellesk129 That was an inside joke to Rickey. Anyway Adam is an American Idol Runner Up. Period. No judgement. I liked Adam from day 1 of auditions. It's the Glamberts I.can.not.stand.
