Adam Lambert — Ring of Fire — Video MP3 — American Idol 8 Top 11
Adam Lambert sings Ring of Fire on American Idol 8 Top 11
OMG — I don’t know what to say!
Very Broadway but I still liked it. Adam Lambert could headline any show right now. Go Adam! Go Elvis!
Simon Cowell thought it was Horrific and Indulgent Rubbish. Hahaha.
We have a fan name! The Rickey.org Adam Lambert fans are called: Glamberts! Go Glamberts!

Got Something to Add?
when I heard this rendition for the first time it was so orgasmic. I'm 40 and still drooling. HIS voice maded me think of the alien gods coming down and inspiring us all to have a cosmic orgy, YUM, YUM, YUMMY i can't get enough.
this was an amazing performance. no pitch problems. and i love the camera shots going in circles when he was singing towards the end
Adam has plans, big plans, because he knows he better and more unique than the rest on Idol and everyone else in the market today. He impassions the heart of those who were stirred by Elvis so long ago. Perhaps Simon is homophobic?
I am a 49 year old with adult boys and I tell you this kid has got major sex appeal. I feel like I'm a giddy school girl. Loved him before ROF - am over the top mad about him now. What an amazing, sexy, mind-blowing performance! The best ever on AI. Go Adam. Can't wait for more!
Yes, everyone, I am a fabulous showman, and this is my sinister plan to win American Idol. I will will meserize you with tight jeans, very meticulously applied eyeliner, and emo looks. My banshee shrieking will numb your mind. In your stupefaction, you will abdicate all common sense and the ability to think for yourselves and you will clamor for my victory. After I have conquered the world, I will soar to the stars. There, I will don my ermine robe and tiara and mount by throne to usher in the reign of the Space Oddity.
After that performance, I felt like doing some schrooms and chillin out in a dark room with my lava lamps. (and that would be great)
Oh gals, I know it--I'll be drumming my fingers on my remote like crazy before Wed. night--LOL! But! The good thing -- there will be only a 6 day wait for the next Adam addiction feed.
Thanks to rickey.org, too, BTW. A fabulous job on this site. MP3 is such high quality. We do enjoy it! Thanks!
Oh I know! That's the exact same spot I watch too! LOVE it! I always have to get my daily dose of Adam. He's my spoonfull of sugar. :3
Hey Glenda! I totally agree with everything you said too. It's such a bummer that Idol airs on Wednesday this week. It's like... I love Obama and all, but PLEASE don't disrupt my weekly fix of Adam, thank you.
And I know what you mean. I'm here listening to him sing and I just wish it would never ever end. GAH. He'S awesome! I've never seen the likes of him. He turns me ON big time, haha. Motown week's gonna be HAWT.
ROFL--you might want to study a bit more biology and a little less bible. X's are X's and Y's are Y's. Prayers and persuation only forces a few to a lie. I hope Adam never goes there. He is what he is. Open and honest.
Thankyou Lady 217 for agreeing with me about Liquid Sex and goosebumps forever. I love you! First and foremost I need to squelch fans ridiculous claims of Adam being a complete HOMO. He is only a young man who has dabbled with both sexes. He is BI. So, let's LADIES set the man straight and narrow and make sure he is on the RIGHT PATH to salvation only a SWEET YOUNG THANG can do. Let us bring him back to his TRUE NATURE as only us willing and nubile thangs can do. He is staturesque, dark, good looking and has a manly voice. It is up to us girls to ENTICE HIM back to the ways of a man. It can be done and it will be done. He was quoted the other day as being a SINGLE MAN AND LOOKING for a special someone. Do not give up hope, ladies. It could be you. And you, and you, and you, and you...Remember, heavens angels are androgenous. It is up to us earth angels to bring them back to reckoning.
Adam is going to be the next star and I loved how he put his twist into the ring of fire it was great loved it
omg I watch his butt too! I can't help it, especially in this song there's this part where the camera is behind him and he's shifting his weight back and forth. It's like Campbell's soup mm mm good
Wendy--I so agree with your post. Adam gives the feeling, to me, at least, that he is doing a guest appearance. I wish they would not waste time judging him and give him that time to sing longer! More! More! I rewind my DVR and rewatch each one of his. Even tho I think the others are talented and deserve to be there, I just find that I do not rewatch their performances. Just thinking we will have to wait an extra day this week to hear his Motown rendition is killing me! LOL
...I always watch his tight booty in this performance. Even though he is totaly flamin' gay, he's got such a nice ass. <3
I'm officially a Glambert! This guy is the most unique contestant ever to appear on the Idol stage. I really hope he wins. I will defnitely go to the concert if he wins!
I think it's my first time posting on this site, but I just had to add a comment to this long list of comments, haha. Adam's performance was pure sex! And vocally no one on the comp can even touch him! He's already a superstar! I don't even feel like I'm listening to a contestant. It's like a winner from a previous season of AI is coming back every week, and I'm loving every second of it!!! GO ADAM!
I would like an Adam Labert/David Cook sandwich (in my dreams of course). Adam surprised me with his performance of Ring of Fire. I also loved his Black or White performance, too. Ring of Fire is my favorite performance so far. I'm surprised that Simon didn't like it. I thought he was more progressive than that. Maybe it's time for him to retire. I'm 52 years old and I recognized Adam's genius, even though I know he used someone else's cover. He performed it very well, loved the way he hit his notes, too. I'm more impressed now than before with Adam, and hope he gets to win this year. It will depend upon if his fans are willing to vote for him. That's really what it comes down to.
that's the plan, kelly. then i'll use the publicity to make myself completely and totally famous. just kidding...maybe
Wow, Adam is upstaging everybody else in iTunes ratings and reviews. He has 5 times more ratings than everybody else and 100+ reviews for RiF. Similarly with his Black or White performance. Even if this kid doesn't win AI, he's definitely still on his way to stardom. He definitely inspires people to talk about him at the very least...of all ages too:
Link above is a video of the Top 10 visit to Motown.
Am currently listening to this as i'm reading the bsg finale review. Absolutlely perfect!
Didn't quite know what to make of it the first time i heard it but my god i adore it now!!!
He is a star already in my opinon
I have listened to this song and watched this video several times a day since Tuesday. I am absolutely in love with it. I haven't been a fan of American Idol since what's his name Soul Patrol won (because, ...seriously?) I've been watching this season because I liked Anoop in auditions but my heart has been stolen by Adam Lambert. I want to have his gaybies. This performance sounded like it was straight off an album, needed absolutely nothing. I was disappointed when I bought the iTunes download of it and it's very different. Oh well. Still love him.
Ahh, Jason--that's the difference of a man from a boy. I'd bet you'd be the type to have Adam's music playing in the background for a very special evening. I know my old man would. Lucky me!
All the guys at my work HATE this song & think he's horrible.
I'm the only one that loves this version of the song... I agree with some of the other posters - if he came out with an album now, I'd buy it. So go, Adam, go!
Whenever Simon gets a bit uncomfortable he sips his Coke. For those of you with a DVR--replay it--you will see him sipping. No matter what your sexual persuasion is--Adam pushes your buttons! Mmm--I wonder--can I wear my DVR out? I'd better go check my warranty.
Paula was right on. Adam left me feeling confused and happy, just like I felt the last time I had sex (it's been a while). Anyway, I love Adam (I'm a straight girl, and find Adam incredibly attractive. I think he's a great performer and he will probably win this year.
Every time I hear this song I feel like I'm on a psychedelic drug trip that's making me horny :D. I've listened to this like 7 times in the last 10 minutes :)
I Freakin' LOVE LOVE LOVE Adam! This was his BEST performance yet! If he came out with an album now I would totaly buy it! Not to mention, where the heck did he get that freakin' awsome jacket???
But as much as I love Adam's creativity and artistic expression and flair for dramatics, I can't wait until he pulls out the ballad. I honestly believe that once he finds the right ballad it will be his "it" moment on idol. Ring of Fire was damn close to his "it" moment, but not yet. With the right ballad, all Adam would have to do is sing flawlessly and beautifully like he always does and have a stripped down power song. It'll be subtle and powerful and heart-wrenching and everyone will die and he will have had his moment. The people who can't stand him will begrudgingly admit at that moment that it was his shining moment.
If you guys check out his ballads on youtube, they are absolutely incredible:
This one touched me so deeply, and I'm a cynical person to begin with.
Adam doing Five For Fighting's "I Just Love You"
If he pulls something like this off on Idol, it's over for everyone else.
At first I was like, wtf? It was totally over the top. But after hearing it again, I have to say that I really appreciate his creativity. While someone like Lil was busy trying her best to conform and sound country, Adam took the song and made it conform to him and his personal style. He's a true artist. Another thing I noticed is he used this song as an opportunity to show off his tremendous range and vibrato. I feel Simon has a hard time appreciating anything outside of the cookie cutter, pop music formula.
Awsome the more I listen to it the more I like it! You remind me of a modern day ELVIS!I think 9"nails is looking for your number Adam!
The performance by Adam Lambert of Ring of Fire was not only horrific as Simon Cowell remarked, it was a downright disgrace. 180 degrees away from country music and pure howling rather than singing. Randy Travis spoke truthfully when he said that Lambert need not look for an invitation to join the Grand Ole Opry. Why he was voted safe is something I just do not understand.
Class all the way...They made fun of Elvis and this guy Adam has the"it" factor as Randy and Simon and Paula would say...
He is the best yet on American Idol and I have watched all the episodes...I am 73.
what I can't stand is the repetitive remarks from people saying Johnny Cash “is rolling over in his grave” from Adam’s performance. If anyone actually knows Johnny Cash’s style and career than they know he was a big fan of alternative rock music style and a big fan of Nine Inch Nails. Heck, he covered “Hurt”! I think if Johnny was still alive, he would have approved very much of Adam’s performance.
Just need to do this for all the Glamberts out there. This great article I found from Joe's Place from a write in one of the Milwaukee papers:
Why Adam Lambert is Brilliant
By David Todd
"So, this week, Adam Lambert nailed it for many reasons:
1) He's was never going to sing country. He took an iconic country song and gave it the "Nine Inch Nails" treatment and it worked for his style. It is already evident he has one; heavy on the drama. (Dolly Parton covered Collective Soul's "Shine" and it was a country hit.) And, if he knows Johnny Cash from seeing Joaquin Phoenix, that was played dark.
2) Which leads to - he's a great performer. He's already done stage. Can you tell? He can sing. He can dance. Check out youtube: adam lambert crazy
3) Despite what Simon said this week, he has called Adam out as a front-runner already in the media; I think Extra - the one with his girlfriend. And on this week's show, record producer and judge Randy Jackson noted his nine octive range on that song. And, note-perfect. You can do a lot with that voice. Clive Davis has done wonders with Kelly and Carrie.
3) Critics said the eastern/sitar sound music was weird music. Well, Adam's just upstaged Anoop Dawg with East Idian pop. Anyone here heard of Slumdog Millionaire? Or the song "Jai Ho" by 0 Rahman that right now is #2 on Kiss-FM. This is Idol's demographic. Score.
4) He's styled to the T. From the fingerless gloves, to the leather jacket, zipper-front jeans, black nail polish, guy-liner... he's put together. Pre-packaged you might say. He's the BAD Jonas Brother.
5) The guy made the Idol tour tonight. Adam gets to perform and he's going to put everyone, save Danny Gokey, to shame.
Danny has great energy and he's all-american. Danny's more American Idol than anyone there and talented, but mark my words... you keep you're eye-liner on Lambert!"
Take that naysayers! Go Glamberts!
I have to agree with Simon. What the HELL was that?! And I thought he was bad before. He took the one country song I thought was respectable, and demolished it. Don't crown him, assassinate him.
