Here’s the original version of Adam Lambert’s latest single ‘Better Than I Know Myself’ by Claude Kelly.

Claude Kelly recorded this in 2009 and was produced by Dr. Luke. The original song was composed by Lukasz Gottwald, Joshua Coleman, Henry Walter and Claude Kelly. He’s currently one of the vocal coaches on The X Factor. What a great song choice for Adam to do a cover. This is going to be a hit! Claude was the songwriter of ‘For Your Entertainment‘ from Adam’s debut album.

I’m a little disappointed that it’s not an original co-write from Adam (why I was led to believe that it’s going to be an original song I don’t know — maybe Adam led us on for months). But I’m not going to let that dampen my spirits now… This. Is. Amazing.

God, you are ridiculous. Halo by beyonce was a demo by Ryan Tedder, leona Lewis label and beyonce label both wanted it, beyonce got it. Tedder had a rough demo recorded for it, the song as recorded by beyonce is not a cover, its an original. Same here, learn the f-in difference.

Really Rickey?...You don't know the difference between a cover and a demo? Adam is taking this DEMO of Claude Kelly's and releasing as his first single. You obviously don't keep up with all of Adam's comments along the way concerning his sophmore album as the rest of us do, or you would have known that he did not write/co-write all that would be on this album. He has said he had a larger part in writing most of the songs, but not all of them, and that there are a couple/few he didn't write or collab on. He is the executive producer of this album, so for even those he did not write, he has had more influence over what makes the album, how it is mixed etc. I'm not surprised you felt the need to add some smear here, albeit slightly less passive-aggressive in terms of history you have displayed in terms of enjoyment in finding fault with the artistry of Adam Lambert. It's not gonna dampen the excitement the rest of us have in anticipation of new music from Adam coming around the horizon of his new album TRESPASSING to drop spring 2012, and single after start of the year.

FYI - this is a DEMO. This is what happens all the time with songs. A writer will pen something down, and decide it's good and want to shop it around, so he'll make a rough recording. This isn't an "original" in the sense that Adam's single will be a cover. Claude Kelly never sold it to anyone else who recorded and released it. So Adam's single WILL BE AN ORIGINAL.

Also, Adam did say he's done a LOT of writing on this album, but never said he'd written the opening single. However, this DOESN'T mean he didn't add to the lyrics - this, as you pointed out was written a bit ago, so we have no idea how this will sound now.

One of the djs in the UK said that they heard the potential singles, and described them as two uptempos, and one mid-tempo. Clearly, this song has been revamped.
