Academy reveals seven finalists for Best Makeup Oscar

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has revealed the seven films still in the running to receive an Academy Award nomination for Achievement in Makeup. The Academy begins Oscar balloting today, thus, members of the Academy will have to begin narrowing down their choices before the January 3 deadline, as nominations will be announced a week later, on January 10.

The seven finalists for the Best Makeup Oscar nomination are:

The makeup category has three nominees each year. Which three of these seven do you think will make the cut?

If I were a guessing man, I’d say Les Mis, The Hobbit, and Lincoln. But then again, they do love biopics more than epics, so I could see Hitchcock bumping The Hobbit, though that would be one hell of a leap. That said, this is definitely one of the most high-visibility fields they’ve had, with the majority of the finalists being mainstream commercial successes.
