Rickey: SAVE AARON KELLY! Go Aaron! That was amazing! 1-866-IDOLS-04
Randy Jackson: Thank god you got on the stage and started singing.
Ellen DeGeneres: That was a perfect song choice for you. You are so good.
Kara DioGuardi: Best song choice of the night. Week to week you really know how to pick a song.
Simon Cowell: It was very brave. Zero chance you are going to go home.

Got Something to Add?
sounds like he totally missed his cue at the beginning of the song (started singing too soon). IT was a 'sweet' version, tempered by his laryngitis. Still preferred David Cook's version (he ROCKED that song on the Idol tour!)
This song has a number of covers already. Not as good as Allison's and David Cook's, but it was okay for someone who's sick. And yes, sick people are given credit for doing a decent job.
Dudde aaron kelly did the best version everr! I love himm and he's def. Gunna be in the top two but ryan didn't call him david archuleta cuz he sounds him but because he has like the same style and he's young innocent just like david.they both appeal to the little 16 year girls out there think they're hott, like me. I myself was an archuleta fan and him sayin that didn't influence my vote because I've been votin for kelly since the beginning.
Its better then both Cooks and Allys cuz they sang it as rockers, which failed to compare. There version would neva be played, this as i said coulda been a country hit in a point in time. Itll be interesting to hear how the studio is.
I had to laugh aloud when I heard Ryan refer to him as David Archuleta, and the head drop that ensued afterward by Aaron. So fun and halarious.
I really like him. I hope he stays on awhile, because he has a good voice & charisma & usually picks the right song. Go Aaron!
He was Ok and better than usual. Probably in the top 4-5 performances tonight. But not Archuleta. I think Ryan needs to re-listen to Archuleta.
It was not good but plain OK. There is nothing creative in the song. However he did a pretty good job singing it while being sick. ;)
He seems to be the dark horse here, Oh no!! I see an Adam-Allen repeat scenario ...... Siobhan vs Aaron at the finals. lol.
i'm not a fan but he's very consistent. all of the songs he does sound like "aaron" songs, and he's done an above-average job with song choice. and for being the baby, he's surprisingly not annoying.
It was a very sweet version of the song - a little too saccharine for me. There was no grit, no fire under his butt like there was in Alison Iraheta's version.
Voting my fingers off for him - he totally deserves this !! He may be the youngest, but he knows exactly who he is as an artist. Aaron Kelly FTMFW !!!
He did very well for being sick. I think that he has a great voice and has the potential to go very far. However, I don't think that he can win it.
I really like this kid. I see so much potential here and think his continued confidence will be the key to how well he ultimately finishes this season. He just needs to believe in himself and let go.
Is the theme of this week: Songs that have sang 948972893578328094 times on the show?? Seriously. but anyways, Aaron "Archuleta" Kelly did a good job
I think he will get to Top 4 like Anthony Fedorov.
HE reminds me so much of him. Great kid, good voice.. But lacks star quality.
So what? Suddenly his voice came back? I'm telling you...lets start that poll: who is going to be sick next week?
BRILLANT....this kid is what this show is all about...if he can sing that well sick those so called front runners better watch out.....awesome song choice and I will continue to say this...AARON will be the last man standing!!!!!!
Aaron was AWESOME!! I can imagine him now singing the AI9 Coronation song in May. This was amazing performance!!
You must be joking! Allison sounds gritty because she grunts her songs at you. She speaks in that same grunty way like a toddler who's too lazy to learn to talk, just points and grunts.
I beg to differ. The song has sounded BETTER....did we forget David Cook's version????? Aaron did good with the song and it was a good choice for him. But to say it was the best version, absolutely NOT.
Oh, Ryan mentioned the archie reference alright, yawwwnn.
but I agree, they are nothing alike ... nothing against aaron at all...but archie is far and awayyy leagues ahead in talent, stage presence, vocal skills, confidence and not to mention stunning good looks and a heart of gold to match ... he just has the whole package.
Top11 Season7, Archie gave a truly memorable goosebump inducing performance of McCartney&Lennon's The Long and Winding Road...and he was recovering from strepthroat too, but it was never mentioned on the show. Simon said David was a "Masterclass" and applauded him! :) ... and not to mention his earlier most memorable performance of Imagine, with so many more memorable performances after these as well!
I miss Season 7! :)
Its the only time the song has sounded good on the show. I think if he was established and a lil older he could easily had a hit with that as a country cover.
The Archuleta stuff is random and idiotic. i didnt even hear ryan say anything, im simply refering to ev1 posting it. They are nothing alike voice or personality wise, 2 young males they must be alike says the simple minded group on the short bus.
In response to some of ya'll. There are methods musicians use to temporarily get their voices back; it still hurts like hell to sing, but they actually suffer for their jobs just like the rest of us.
One common method is a quick cortisone injection. I imagine for something like tonsilitis, that would be about the only way he'd be able to sing; unless he's not that far into the illness... in which case his next 2-3 weeks will be terrible.
Yes merly I heard it at the begining...Maybe this guys are just using the bad words to describe their vocal situation or maybe "I lost my voice" means something else to me. He did well though.
Seriously, when I lose my voice.....it's gone for days!!! I can't even whisper, let alone sing.
Yes, GREAT song choice for Aaron, but really, I agree...TPTB are stacking the deck for sure!!!
