Rihanna told Diane Sawyer this morning on Good Morning America that she went back to Chris Brown a few times after the domestic violence incidents because she was blinded by love.

“When I realized that my selfish decision for love could result into some young girl getting killed, I could not be easy with that part. I couldn’t be responsible … If Chris never hit me again, who’s to say that their boyfriend won’t … kill these girls? These are young girls. I just didn’t realize how much of an impact I had on these girls until that happened. It was a wake-up call for me, big time, especially when I took myself out of the situation,” Rihanna said.

Rihanna: I “woke up as Britney Spears” after Chris Brown Attack 1

Glamour magazine named Rihanna 2009 Woman of the Year in its December issue, and in her interview, Rihanna says: “I went to sleep as Rihanna and woke up as Britney Spears. That was the level of media chaos that happened the next day.”

She adds: “The positive thing that has come out of my situation is that people can learn from that. I want to give as much insight as I can to young women, because I feel like I represent a voice that really isn’t heard.”

Well, it’s good that she’s finally coming forward with the domestic violence issue, even if it’s tied in with the launch of her latest album. I was really appalled when news broke out of the incident with Chris Brown a few months ago, people actually thought “she deserved it.”

Our youth need education!

Lady Gaga – The Fame Monster
Jay Sean – All or Nothing
Birdman – Pricele$$

In a statement to People, Chris Brown said that he misspoke when Larry King asked him: “Do you remember doing it?” and he said “No.”

So awful. Instead of trying to blame CNN for misrepresenting his own words, and putting out statements that he is sorry, Chris Brown should have said it there and then when Larry King was interviewing him.

Wow, just wow. Chris Brown and his mother are acting like it never happened — and yet he pleaded GUILTY to assault in court that YES, he did beat Rihanna in a car until her face was bleeding. So awful.

“When I look at it now, it’s just like, wow, like, I can’t — I can’t believe that — that actually happened,” he told Larry King in his first interview since the beating, set to air Wednesday on CNN. “When I look at the police reports, when I hear about the police reports, I just don’t know what to think. It’s like wow…It’s crazy…Wow.”

What is wrong with the California justice system? I wanted a trial darnit.

Chris Brown gets 180 days hard labor and 5 years felony probation. He must also stay at least 10 yards away from Rihanna if they are at the same event.

If there was a trial, Chris Brown faced up to 5 years in jail.

So apparently in California a man can beat up his girlfriend and disfigure her, and he can just plead guilty and get hard labor.

The California Supreme Court on Wednesday rejected an appeal by Chris Brown’s attorney Mark Geragos to postpone the preliminary hearing set for next Monday. Rihanna was subpoened to testify at the hearing, and her attorney has said that she will comply with the subpoena and be a cooperative witness for the prosecution.

So exciting! Drama!

You know what sucks? How this lawyer flat out says that the picture damaged Chris Brown’s “image.” OK, hold on a second — who’s bloodied image is it that was on the photograph in the first place? So the picture is more harmful to Chris Brown than to Rihanna? What a bunch of crap.

Lawyers will spin anything.

It also doesn’t help that Rihanna is not interested in pursuing this case — which is a disservice to battered women everywhere.

Now Chris Brown is gaining control of this case and portraying himself as the victim — when he was the one who beat Rihanna until she was bloodied and bruised. So unacceptable!

I don’t even care what happens to them — but it gives a bad message to young people that if you are a guy you can somehow get a way with hitting a woman in this manner, and for young girls to believe that their role is submission. Dammit.
