A majority of Rickey.org readers thought that Kris Allen’s CD was on par with Idol albums in the past, which could be a good or a bad thing. It could be Carrie Underwood good or Taylor Hicks bad. I hope it does well! I’m still hoping that it will sell at least 100,000 copies for the first week. I think Kris Allen will debut at #4 or #5, so anything better than that I will be ecstatic.
Live Like We’re Dying is now at #51 on the iTunes Top 200 chart.

Rickey.org readers think that “For Your Entertainment” by Adam Lambert is the best first single in recent history. Who are you people? Are you all Adam Lambert fans now. LOL. This is the most ridiculous result I’ve seen in our non-scientific polls over here. Did some of you guys cheat? What happened to the discerning, intelligent and witty Rickey.org reader? Where are you? (I miss you).
Anyway, I’m just going to tell you guys that “For Your Entertainment” is NOT the best first single in recent history. Listen to me for once and save yourselves the heartache in the next few months.
The best would have to be “It’s Not Over” by Daughtry (2,000,000+ copies), “Crush” by David Archuleta (2,000,000+ copies) and/or “Tattoo” by Jordin Sparks (2,000,000+ copies).
But there is a glimmer of hope for our Season 8 Idols: Kris Allen’s Live Like We’re Dying is back in the iTunes Top 100 at #67 and Adam Lambert’s For Your Entertainment is at #76. If these tracks stay in the Top 100 for a few more weeks and not drop out of the charts after the media blitz is over, then they might have legs. Jordin Sparks “Battlefield” has been in the Top 100 since May 12, 2009 and it has sold over 1 million copies.

Really? You guys don’t like Kris Allen’s songs that much? 53% of the respondents said that they didn’t like any of the songs on Kris’s album that he previewed at the Miami Dolphins pre-game last week.
The most popular however was Live Like We’re Dying. Hopefully things will sound better when the full album drops on Nov. 17. To #1 Kris!

You guys love “Time for Miracles“! The track reached as high as #9 on the iTunes Charts this week, but sadly it is down to #49 now after only 6 days. Hopefully it will linger for at least a week before it leaves the iTunes Top 100. Still hoped that the track had “hit” legs.

Is it that time again? When I am the only person on Earth who believes in Kris Allen? Last week I wrote that Kris Allen would end up #1 on the charts when his album drops on Nov. 17 because I thought the iTunes Pre-Orders would give him a boost. A lot of you disagree.
Moreover, 60% of the votes thought Kris Allen would not reach the 100,000 mark, and 30% thought he would not even reach 50,000. Ouch. If that happens, Kris Allen would be the lowest selling American Idol winner of all time in first week of sales. Jordin Sparks holds that record right now when she sold 119,000 copies of her album during the first week, but because of a couple of great singles she sold a million copies after a year passing Taylor Hicks in total sales.
Though a lot of you disagree with me, I still believe that Kris Allen will do better than Jordin Sparks in the first week, and will have better overall sales than Taylor Hicks.
However, as I was reminded last night on our Wild Angels show, I also predicted last year that David Archuleta would be #1 — but Taylor Swift debuted at #1 that week on the Billboard 200 selling 592,304 copies with “Fearless”. Her album would then go on to sell 4 million+ copies and is still in the charts now at #17. David Archuleta also did not pass Jennifer Hudson in total sales, which was one our benchmarks. Oh well.
For this week: Adam Lambert! How do you rate “Time for Miracles”?
