Okay guys, I think this is way too low 3 days after the album was released.

The reviews have been mostly positive, so I don’t understand.

Entertainment Weekly says: “… Allen’s appealing pipes (that adorable little hitch in his voice!) to sew this patchwork of pop production-for-hire together … ultimately provide the album’s strongest selling point.” Grade: B-

Billboard: Kris Allen May Sell 90,000 Copies 16

Apparently, since the uber-fans do not believe anything I write here even as MJ’s Big Blog and other websites are posting THE SAME THING, I need to drop a big name as a “source”. So how about Billboard.com — the actual chart people, who obviously are taking the same data from the same place as we all did yesterday.

Billboard reports that John Mayer is on track to debut at #1 with “Battle Studies” which could sell 275,000 to 300,000. Casting Crowns with “Until the Whole World Nears” could sell 175,000 copies. 50 Cent and Norah Jones are vying for #3 with their estimates at 150,000 copies.

Justin Bieber could sell 100,000 copies and “while “American Idol” winner Kris Allen may see his debut effort move approximately 90,000 copies.” (direct quote from Billboard)

Kris Allen’s album is at #11 on the iTunes Top Album chart today.

Kris Allen May Not Sell 100,000 Copies On His First Week 75

The headlines will be merciless next week for Kris Allen, so just a heads up. Estimates for album sales this week have already come up, and Kris Allen is underperforming for an American Idol winner. He is poised to be the worst-selling Idol-winner for the first week since Jordin Sparks debuted at #10 on the Billboard 200 in 2007 with 119,000 copies.

Here are the estimates from Hits based on first day sales:

John Mayer, 275k-300k
Norah Jones, 150k-160k
50 Cent, 140k-150k
Casting Crowns, 140k-150k
Andrea Bocelli, 140k-150k
Justin Bieber, 110k-120k
Kris Allen, 75k-80k
Leona Lewis, 60k-65k

I think 50 Cent will debut with higher numbers, and anything can still happen in one week.

But I don’t know what to do about Kris Allen. Season 8 is turning out to be a friggin’ disaster.

Kris visited the Empire State Building with his band at 1 AM a couple of days ago. He said that they will head back to LA. He has an Ellen Show taping soon.

Kris’ self-titled CD is out today. Let’s all support Kris. My favorite songs from the album are: “Let It Rain”, “Live Like We’re Dying”, “Red Guitar”, “From the Ashes” and “Bring It Back”.

The CD is now #4 on the iTunes Top 200 Album Chart, just behind 2 versions of John Mayer’s album and 50 Cent. Go Kris Allen!

A majority of Rickey.org readers thought that Kris Allen’s CD was on par with Idol albums in the past, which could be a good or a bad thing. It could be Carrie Underwood good or Taylor Hicks bad. I hope it does well! I’m still hoping that it will sell at least 100,000 copies for the first week. I think Kris Allen will debut at #4 or #5, so anything better than that I will be ecstatic.

Live Like We’re Dying is now at #51 on the iTunes Top 200 chart.

OMG. I’m so over Season 8. Some fans have just made this experience absolutely horrible, not just for me, but for every reader, writer and artist following/covering American Idol this season. What’s wrong with you guys? This is the worst fan psycho war I have ever had the displeasure of witnessing. Some of you guys really suck. I deal with this almost everyday, and yes, I can’t wait for all of this to be over in a few weeks. But I just have to speak out and tell some of you off.

So yesterday, Sony made available 2 tracks from Adam Lambert’s album available for “immediate download” for those who pre-ordered the deluxe version. And minutes later, the MP3s were already online spreading like wildfire on Twitter. These are not just crude preview tracks — these are the actual tracks.

And just now, I discovered that Kris Allen’s self-titled album — the entire album including cover art — is now online. Unbelievable. I got a Twitter message telling me that the album was “FREE”. No it’s not free, it’s sabotage! Where’s the Justin Bieber or John Mayer rip? Why only Kris Allen? Also, the zip file does not contain the iTunes bonus track “From the Ashes” which is one of the main reasons for getting the iTunes album in the first place.

To the people who are doing this, you should be ashamed. You guys make me sick. For a very long time now.

Bring on Season 9. Come back to me in a few months for promotion when I, along with the rest of the planet, are going crazy for the American Idol Season 9 Top 10. Then I’ll think about it.

Go Kris Allen! Go Adam Lambert! But I think both of you know that some of your fans suck.

Live Like We’re Dying Re-Enters Billboard Hot 100 at #92 19

Omigosh! Less than a week to go before Kris Allen’s self titled album Kris Allen is released! I got an e-mail yesterday that my “Exclusive Kris Allen Album Bundle” which may or may not include a lithograph picture of Kris — is in the mail. So excited.

“Live Like We’re Dying” re-entered the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart at #92 for the week, and a quick visual check on iTunes shows that it is at #82 on the iTunes Top 100 chart.

I must concede however that it looks like Kris Allen may not have the #1 album next week as I had predicted. 50 Cent released his album “Before I Self Destruct” one week early on iTunes (the physical CDs go on sale Nov. 16) and it is already #1 on the iTunes Top Albums chart, ahead of this week’s big release “The Circle” by Bon Jovi (who I just discovered is following me on Twitter). Can Kris beat 50 Cent? Justin Bieber? John Mayer? Leona Lewis? Norah Jones? Janet Jackson (greatest hits)?

Kris Allen announced the nominees for the People’s Choice Awards 2010 this morning at the SLS Hotel in Los Angeles. He was joined by Cat Deeley, executive producer Mark Burnett, Sofia Vergara from Modern Family, Jeff Probst and Johnny Galecki.

Adam Lambert, Kris Allen, Carrie Underwood, Jennifer Hudson and Daughtry are nominated for awards. Winners will be announced on Jan. 6, 2010
