It looks like David Cook’s “Magic Rainbow” (aka “Time of My Life”) is the official music to the closing credits of NBC’s Olympic Games coverage. Wow. So excited about that.

After watching the United States beat France by .08 seconds in the 400M Men’s Freestyle Relay (giving Michael Phelps his second gold medal), I was pleasantly surprised to hear David Cook sing once again, while the swimmers celebrated in the pool.

The time of our lives and the American Idol tour organizers don’t want to give us a 5-second Mavid Brodance. Darn you intern!

Ahhh! This is too awesome! Thank you so much for capturing that moment for us international fans who can’t watch it on NBC, Rickey!
Hopefully they’ll continue to use it, and I hope to see these montages if they do. It really is a perfect song for celebratory moment.

to be honest when this song came out first,
I was all against it.
it totally collided with my image of raw cookie.
the thought of mixing Axium with magic rainbows on my ipod is somewhat disturbing but i’m doing it anyway.
time to face reality
i can’t get magic rainbows out of my system.
i NEVER skip the song, sometimes it’s on repeat.
i find myself humming it while watching the games (WTF?!)
the RAINBOWS took over, crushing my whole belief system
i need a stop to this.
COOKIE must release a new Single

I love that song for what it is. It’s a competition song, winner against all odds and enjoying the moment–the American Dream.

So happy for Cook. He didn’t know about this until his mother called him and she was so freaked out. He mentioned it on tour a couple of days okay. So happy for Cook.

Hey, I’m watching the Olympics events via the international feed. No “Magic Rainbows” in there. Also, we have a Chinese Cable channel covering the Olympics. No “Magic Rainbows” either.

But anyways, it’s really great for Cook to have his song in the American feed. The single is climbing up the charts again. Congratulations! yAy for Cook!

I know….!!! How mind blowing is that. It’s amazing… he’s always been out there we just didn’t know it. It’s truly amazing what a tv show can do for ya.

…and about the song, I think I’m about the only one who actually loved the song right from the beginning. The minute he won and opened his mouth and started singing it I loved it, because I loved his joyous face! He was soooo happy…

Thank you so much for making this song even more magic for anyone who reads this. The writer says it was a ‘devine’ occurence that they could not go to Beijing 08, but are there through this song. I pray David Cook gets to read this story.
I think its devine guidance that David Cook and his heaven sent voice came along in time to
make this song a world wide anthem for hope and joy.

I was at the show the other night in MA when David told the audince how his Mom called and told him that TOML was played at Olympic closing ceremonies. Congrats to David Cook and the USA Swim team! They both rock!!!

Oy my god, that race?! I already knew the results (being on the West Coast, I had seen the results online) BUT I was STILL jumping up and watching it with baited breath when I finally watched in on my TiVo.
Un-freaking-believable.

So far during the closing credits, it’s been highlights of swimming (ie Michael Phelps) being triumphant with DC’s song playing in the background. So, thank you Regie Hamm and your Magic Rainbow; now I get to think of David Cook AND Michael Phelps on one, luscious brain wave.

Congrats to David Cook for having his song played at the Olympics. I heard it on 2 shows last week at the same time slot. I was watching the Dance show, flipped the channel and it was playing there, too. Also, I heard Crush by Archie is #1 on I-tunes, so I guess this year’s idols weren’t so bad afterall, huh?
