stina, Are you a big Carly fan? This is going to drive me crazy until I find out what is on her fingers!!! It doesn’t look like any “gloves” I have ever seen, maybe henna??? Help a girl out here. I have watched several vids from that night even on her myspace and it doesn’t look like gloves…………

I couldn’t figure out the finger/gloves thing either. Sometimes it just looked like a weird shadow.

Thanks to a tip (lol, no pun intended) from my fellow Cookie, KS, I believe I have solved the mystery!!! They are called “Fingertip Gloves” or “Finger Gloves” and IMO completely useless and pointless!

Remind me to NEVER use Carly’s stylist cuz with the opaque tights and the finger gloves that chick/dude is missing the boat! I do like her top but the tights have got to go! Someone told me she wears them because she is so white (curse of the Irish?) but I’m not buying that either-it is too damn hot in the US during July/Aug/Sept. to wear tights of any kind!! She must really hate her legs poor thing

Yeah, and i figured the finger gloves were NOT a tattoo..i thought maybe for slippage of the mike? to prevent perspiring? dunno why and i also agree about the tights BUT she is the QUEEN of the concert,,,at least in my eyes! GO CARLY!

I love Carly’s voice and am thrilled that she, along with most of the Idols, are getting rave reviews! Thanks Lara for the great video! And, thanks Rickey for posting it.

Carly’s voice is so amazing and powerful that I don’t really pay attention to her fashion sense. Leggings for whatever reason have become her signature and I respect that. Creatives rarely follow the norm in dressing.

carly’s legwear is really more leggings than tights. they’re not winter-y at all, up close.

as for the gloves, it’s only speculation on my part, but she might be wearing them due to her metal allergy. all the railings around the stage are metal, and possibly the microphone as well. so she might just be protecting her hands.

Her voice is just amazing, and one of the main reasons I am going to see the tour this season. This song is amazing, and, for me at least, sets her up as one of, if not the, best of the season.

As for the clothes deal, she is Irish, and there are not too many Irish designers nor models. So, as someone of strong Irish ancestry, fashion is not our forte. A good ale, fun times, and great stories, yes, but not so much with the accessorizing.

livehead16, logical thought but I think it actually is more about Fashion. I’ve been told that one of the Sex in the City girls wore them in the movie that opened this summer……Since Rickey is a New Yorker, maybe he can tell us if it is the new fashion trend around town?????

livehead, that’s a good point about the metal allergy which would make the gloves a very clever and functional fashion accessory. Leggings don’t seem so unusual to me. I’ve seen them paired with short summer dresses on the streets of northern California.

But, it’s sad that so much focus is on Carly’s fashion sense or lack thereof. She’s a kind and fun person who is gorgeous with a voice that is absolutely phenomenal!

Except that they only cover the fingers just to the bottom of the 2nd knuckle not the palm and thumb which would make more sense if it was being used for protection from a metal allergy. The palm and thumb would definitely come in contact with “railings” and “mic’s” why not just wear full gloves it that was the case?
