When Part 3 of Michael Slezak’s interview with David Archuleta came out I already conditioned myself to drop the gauntlet and demand an apology from everyone who were mean to me when I pointed the fact that Archey forgot his lyrics to “Think of Me” during Andrew Lloyd Webber week. Archey basically agreed with Michael that he indeed forgot his lyrics vindicating my ears. I for one couldn’t care less that the judges didn’t notice, unlike Slezak, but I cared deeply that the fans turned against me for the simple reason of pointing it out. So apologize if you must, but I’ve decided that I don’t care anymore. I’m over all the drama now. No more drama in my American Idol life…
Incidentally, Archey’s answers were just awesome — and the Michael Slezak interview has got to be his most mature and professional interview to date. Archey is really getting comfortable with this press thing.
Interesting enough, during Archey’s first rehearsal on the Today Show — he forgot the lyrics at the same point where he forgot them on ALW week, after “Imagine me…” Holy deja vu! How awesome. So clearly that line for him is problematic. I think it’s because he goes into runs before reaching that point and is so lost in it that he’s had trouble going back to the next verse. You could see the “oops” expression in his face.
Personally, he can forget his lyrics all day long, and I wouldn’t care. It’s all about emotion as he says, and that’s more than good enough for any true fan.
So there, I’m over it.
Go Archey! We Believe!

It was a great interview Rickey. Slezak always asks the best questions.
first!
I liked when Little David said he was a Billboard Dork.
And it was really interesting when he said he wanted to change up LONGER, but the producers didn’t let him.
is it “too late to apoligize, it’s too late?”
oh, and I also liked when he said his soundis going to be young. because he’s 17
Does anyone know where to find a link to the TRL interview?
Nice job with the close ups in this video, rickey! LOL! I just love watching David, he’s so amazing! And funny! Go Archie!!
I just love how he is always changing up his performances. All the little note changes, etc. Even on ai, i noticed there would be differences between his rehearsal and the actual show. He’s amazing and so creative!
I agree Virginia! Every time he performs a song, it’s different. I love that. One of my favorite things about him.
It was so cold… I can see his breath
Hello Angels! I’ve been busy trying to catch up on all of the threads, videos and comments. So much going on in NYC! I wish I was there for some of it.
First of all, Thank you to Rickey for giving us a daily fix on our ODD. Because there is no cure, a daily dose of Rickey’s blog will sustain us and keep us going.
Secondly, how does this happen that I become more and more impressed with David Archuleta? Where will this stop? I know that no human is perfect.Could our DA be the first perfect human in the history of mankind? I know…a little over the top but…Gosh dang it!Thirdly, I want to stress how perfect this AI season has ended for the fans of these two Davids.I am so happy that DC is the type of guy he is, that will so readily give props to DA and be his protector (well, other than Tony, of course) and make us fans feel like David A. will always be in good hands throughout the upcoming events with the AI tour. I’m so happy for both of them and feel like for once, America rally did get this one right.I know, I know, I wanted DA to win, but I’m starting to think that this is really the way it needed to be. Happy endings to everyone! Peace!
how cold was it in NY this morning?!?
America did rally, but I meant ‘really’!
#11 Vikilee,
I just busted out laughing when you wrote “Could our DA be the first perfect human in the history of mankind?” !!! So funny… but, it very might be true, joking but it sort of seems true, right?! He can save all mankind! haha!
Thank You Rickey, and eventhough I agrees with you back then…I apologize on everyone else that didn’t behalf!!
Slezak has to be highly impressed with our litle boy wonder star! where it came to the flubbing the lyrics part, DA gave this analogy with a raft, and jumping out of time, I was dumbfounded, he hit it right on the nail, that is exactly how it must feel…
He will do amazing guys, nothing to worry about his future. I read in some article a couple of weeks ago, he is like an exotic orquid, that has been nourished to do this for life and that nobody else will compare..or something along the lines…he really knows what he does, and we haven’t seen him peak yet! can you IMAGINE???
I know Virginia. Just watching him is a lesson in how to be a good person. I just love everything about him!
wonder if rickey will put up the 3rd rehearsal xD Gah I cant get enough of this lol
I put a piece of masking tape on my monitor to cover Slezack’s ferret face.
I think we can now put to rest Dean’s statements about DA wanting to do a certain song and not being able to do it and that song being given to DC-Don’t you think that was what DA was saying. Not that a song was given to DC that DA wanted but that DA himself didn’t think the song “fit” with the other songs so he choose a different one?
I may be way off base here, my memory sux most of the time so this may not even pertain to that whole song fiasco, if not ignore me.
hey all, did you see both Davids on MTV TRL today? They sang the phone book again, and then DC gave DA a big hug, and then they did a boxing match between a cookie and archie to see who wanted their fav to win. too bad they didn’t see any songs though.
#3 besos: I found that very endearing when he was talking about his obsession (past) with billboard. It made me think of how some boys are so obsessed with dinosaurs when they are young? Well Mr. Smarty Pants, adorable Archuleta had bigger things on his mind like planning his path to future stardom by learning everything he could possibly learn about how and why GREAT singers become GREAT singers. I don’t think Archey has your typical IQ, I would bet he ranks pretty high on the scale.
Have you guys watched the Youtube videos of David when he was on Star Search. We actually watched him, but I didn’t truly appreciate his gift until I rewatched him on YouTube. All of the Star Search judges were super impressed; and all said that he was going to be a big star!
P.S. I am also thinking that it is good that the “big David” won. He has taken “little David” under his wing. I think that it is a win-win-win situation (for David C.-David A. and AI). I predict that both David’s will be a huge success, much better than just one winning and leaving the other behind.
Ok all i just got off work what did i miss? I have read that MC and Xeno actually got to hang out with the davids is this true
coca #18, OMG, I laughed so hard at that. He is a weasel, ickies!
okay i REALLY hope you guys can see the pics:

that was from yesterday..i still have to upload todays photos.
everything about DA is ADORABLE!! EVEN HIS PIMPLE (yes he had one) WAS ADORABLE! lmao i got the perfect pics!!
Hey Sweet Melissa. I’ve long thought this about David, the high IQ thing. He can come off awkward, but many bright kids/people do. My best friend teaches gifted and talented kids. I hear countless stories about them kids. David reminds me of those kids a great deal. From what I understand he has a 4.0 GPA. And the meat of his observations, as evidenced by these recent interviews, are remarkably mature and self-aware. He’s also a lefty, if that means anything. I think Cook is too.
wow MC…so jealous. its great that you got many pics of him and actually got to meet him. I think there are a bunch of you who meet him…Cinny, Dominic, and all of the angels in NY. I can only imagine what it could feel like meeting someone you adore.
Kristi did you ever get my email that i sent you yesterday?
#27 houstonrufus: I have thought from the beginning that DA probably fell into the GT group also because of his precieved “awkwardness” and shyness at age 17. Many kids/adults who are up there in the IQ dept. have more difficulties with social situations and even the touchy feely thing. They are so high functioning and so into whatever it is that moves them that they don’t learn the everyday skills and common sense stuff that the rest of us do. I am in no way saying that DA is antisocial or lacks common sense (I am sincere here..) but he is not your “average” 17 yr old even if you take away the highly religious and sheltered background I don’t think he would be your average Joe.
