dada8..yep, withdrawal symptoms for me too. Had some beer, and some more beer, and I feel a bit better. I’ve tried to be positive about the results.
SOMEONE up there has better and bigger plans for DA. Yay!

It just ended and I’m already suffering from season 7 withdrawal symptoms.
I feel like downloading every episode and turning Rickey.org back to Jan, so I can relive the whole thing all again. :sigh:

The guru was funny! Haha! Archie looked liked he didn’t understand what the Guru was talking about, haha. Cook was also funny with the shave thing! XD
1]DA’s clueless look when Guru said not to make a boom-boom
2]DA’s natural reflex of scooping the falling foam from Cook’s face
This video post is really an UP-LIFTER!
Thanks, Rickey!

I laughed to death when Archey scooped the falling foam from Cook’s face lol
(It reminds me of the scenes when he pick up the leave that fall down from the tree in his American Idol Journey clip…yeah, so natural!)

No offense to David Cook, but this has got to be the worst season of Idol ever!
And I thought Season 4 was bad.

Man I love these two guys & I adore that they obviously love each other in a brotherly way and respect each other. Best season of Idol hands down!
Well things are better in the morning. It was hard for me to put everything in perspective last night because I just wanted that voice to have the ultimate prize. But, now I remember how David A. said in one of the backstage videos on AI.com that “if it’s happened, I’m supposed to learn from it” and that is so wise. I think we can all look forward to David’s music in the future, but he will have the education, and perhaps mission work he always planned on.

Did anyone see that David said in an interview last night with Entertainment Weekly:
EW: You seem like a naturally shy person.
DA: Oh yeah. [Laughs] Awkward person.
Not awkward, humble and young!

This is the first thread of the day for me, so I will post my congratulations to David Cook. The guy is a terrific performer, talented and deserving. I loved his duets with David Archuleta and ZZTop.
Although deeply sad, and yes, I cried buckets of tears all afternoon and night, I know that DA is headed for superstardom, and could not have been more proud of him last night. As I have posted in the past, his singing moves me to tears, makes me happy and joyful. He is beyond incredible. SOOOO super excited to watch his career unfold. Can’t wait for his first CD, and the next one and the next one and the next one……
OMG, that guitar hero commercial…LOOOOOOOOOOOOOVED IT!

Two Davids sound good together. I personally would love to hear both of them to a duet to “DLTSGDOM.” I hope DC doesn’t get a big head, because it will ruin him for sure.

I LOVED the duet of “Hero”. They both sounded great together. And the Mike Myers clip was fairly funny – the best part was (as many of you noted) when Archie caught the shaving cream and Cook just absolutely died laughing.
Condolences to Archie fans – but don’t write-off AI. I was really bummed after Daughtry got booted in S5, but I am really happy I stuck with AI. Who knows, in 2 seasons there could be another person you really “fall in love with” and they might actually win!

Hey Rickey–Any chance for an mp3 of Hero?

BTW–I liked their voiced together but I wasn’t a fan of when they crossed parts–when Arch took melody and Cook did higher harmony (for most of the song, actually). Arch has the lighter voice; I thought that was an odd choice. The beginning was better, which Arch on top.
Re: the Guru–I hated it. Shameless plug; worse than Horton Hears a Who. And royally demeaning to Arch. That bit about his “personal hair” and his pullups. It’s such cheap humor at the expense of someone weaker. I’m surprised at Mike Myers, actually.

I hadn’t seen this yet. It’s a short video/interview from when the top 3 did the TV Guide cover.
Take out the space between you and tube for the link to work. http://www.you tube.com/watch?v=7rKSewpo0TM
Suzanne – I don’t think that DJ was offended at all by the Love Guru stuff. Were the references to “boom boom” and pull-ups a bit in poor taste? Probably…but it’s no different from the same old stupid comments people have been making all season long about David’s “immaturity.” The important thing is that we know that David has wisdom and maturity well beyond his 17 years. Perhaps the fact that people continue to underestimate him will only work in his favor from a professional point-of-view. I’ll even go so far to say that it’s probably a blessing in disguise that DJ didn’t win AI because if he had, it would have only strengthened the silly hatred and biases against him.

I guess I am the only one that did NOT like their voices together. Didn’t sound natural or smooth IMO.
Back to the topic. This was soooo lame, funny yes but OMG. I didn’t think the “don’t go boom-boom in your pull-ups” was funny at all and was quite disrespectful to David A.
I did love it when DA caught the shave cream LOL-totally not scripted IMO just a priceless moment caught on tape! LOL

After that segment and then the Risky business commercial I do believe our David Cook is a mighty fine Actor as well.
During all of the goofy little skits AI put those two through, the whole boxing stuff included, DC was so entirely in character in each one of them don’t you think?? I do believe he is a Triple threat! Singer, Composer, Actor!!
Go David Cook! He is the Man!!

#32–I think you’re right. DC does look like a natural in the acting arena, so now we have a song writer/composer/singer/actor/rockstar/opera-broadway performer…and can we add model? (He had to model for that TV Guide shoot!) Okay the list is just getting too long and ridiculous. DC can do everything. I think he works voodoo, too. He slayed every female watching him perform and hypnotized us into voting for 4 hours. Only to let us all day with a thud by asking Kimberly Caldwell out! Come on, David Cook! Undo your voodoo, chap!

Kim Caldwell? I can’t keep up. What happened to Lacey Schwermer?

I LOVE Cook’s high harmonies on that 2nd chorus. And, Kimberly finally got asked out by Cook? She’s been mooning over him all season on the TV Guide channel. He can do SO much better… Hold out for Mandy Moore, David!

Ah! And the rumor-mill begins to turn its gears! Poor dude’s been famous all of 12 seconds and he’s already dating/dated 2 reality TV personalities? Oof. At least let him have the weekend off!
He’s a smart guy but a guy none the less!! Haha – he’ll figure it out in the end. Hopefully…

The Lacey thing was a confirmed rumor. Where’s the KC thing coming from? Like I said, all I know is she was drooling over him all season on the TV Guide channel.

David Cook is a young, single, hot guy, and now very much in the public eye. Of course, he will be going out on lots of dates. No need for drama around each one of them, please!

Maybe Cookie and Carrie could get together. She seems to like high-profile guys, they’re both from the mid-west, they both know the AI thing… (Don’t tell my sister I’m selling her out!)

#36-not sure. I haven’t heard anymore. But I’ll tell you IMO KC isn’t smart enough for him, but what do I know? I’m very jealous! Yuk! DC acted very smitten with her, too. Gave her a flower and asked her out in front of everybody on tv (ch 18 plays it over and over again). DC has no confidence problems. In all fairness I read on google that she wanted to make out with him, so who knows if he read that…she’s a pretty girl…can’t stand her voice, though. I hate it that he is attracted to her. Guess I’ll just have to wait for a guy that personifies what DC acted like he was. I still love DC’s music and think he’s a genius.

I’m a cougar and DC’s continuous display of sexiness (roll of tongue on ZZ Top song saying “looking for love”, Elvis dance twitches on U2 song, dancing in underwear on commercial) are a bit overwhelming. I’m a good Christian girl, but my radar isn’t broken. I set my sights so high, I may be single for the rest of my life. I really was attracted to the personality that DC displayed. I’m just not sure that I have a soul mate anymore. Maybe God didn’t make me one! (cry)

Thos two were really good with Hero. The texture in David Cooks voice and smoothnees in Archie’s flowed together really nicely.
The Guru thinkg was hilarious. Except for the “boom-bom” thing. That sounded offending to David A, but I still laughed because I know David Archuleta didn’t mind. Priceless moment: David Archuleta catching that shaving cream at the end. LMAAAOOOOO everyone is so right, he thinks he’s not funny, but in reality David A. makes me laugh to tears (in an excellent way of course).
I was really, really sad that David Archuleta didn’t win, especially when my classmates drove it into my head the next day, since they knew I was an Archuleta lover and they were Cook lovers. But it didn’t hit me as hard as I thought. It did hit harder, like, half an hour-an hour later, when I started crying. What I was really crying about was for him. He would get so much publicity and chances and happiness. But now I realize he doesn’t need the title for that. He will become very successful in his own way. Runner-up is the next best thing. I’m soo happy for him. Watching him on American Idol extra (btw, thanks Rickey for the Idol extra clip!! I missed it, and you are the only one who has it) made me laugh to tears. He’s so stress-free now, he can express himself so much better now. He really opened up. I love him, and I am just waiting for his first album so i can buy it the first second I get it. And I will watch every David Archuleta TV appearence there is. I’M SUPPORTING YOU, DAVID!!!
