I loved this one – Cook was fabulous here. He was fantastic on all his songs tonight and last night.

Will wonders never cease – My husband told me tonight he was glad I spent four hours voting on 2 land lines for Cook last night and glad that he won. (He doesn’t know about the tons of text messages. Heh) I used that Simon anger well. I am glad Simon apologized but I am still annoyed at him.

I can’t stop grinning about Cook being the final act on the tour now. Did anybody get his appearance on Kimmel tonight? I missed it.

I’m sure this was his dream come true–all in one night. AI title and performing w/ZZ top. Did you catch DC in his underwear in commercial during show? I wonder when that commercial was planned. I know I said either yesterday or the day before that I thought he could be a model. Wow! I don’t like the Kimberly chick he asked out, though. She might be a nice girl, but she reminds me of Judge Judy when she “talks.” I’m glad DC won. I still love his music.

This part of the show absolutely made my night–this and David’s tears when he realized he had won. He looked and acted like such a natural star i this performance. Nice to see the new Luna getting its debut onstage, too!

Rickey, I mostly just lurk and observe, not comment, but I wanted to thank you so much for your enthusiasms and generosity of spirit over the past several months of this show. As a DC fan from the beginning, I’ve been moved by your kindness and sense of fairplay, *and your humour* and been saddened when you obviously felt hurt at times. I’m also impressed that the Archy-angels have been gracious despite their favourite not having won. Big props to you, Rickey!

I was kinda bummed when I heard he was going to be performing with ZZ Top and not Raine Maida (his personal hero), but that was AMAZING. Just so fabulous to see David being David. I mean if you’ve seen any of the video performances of him with his old bands, this is Cookie In. His. Element. And we finally got to see the new guitar.

Damn, I bet his dad was STOKED seeing his son up there with that iconic band. ZZ Top was originally from Houston, the city of David’s birth!!!

Well, I don’t think it was necessarily David’s dream to perform with ZZ Top. When you look at his greatest musical influences, it’s more Our Lady Peace and Foo Fighters. Now, David playing with one of those groups would have been revolutionary for AI. I actually was hoping they’d go there, but sigh.

Yea, maybe ZZ Top isn’t a big influencer or fave hero of DC…but ANY rocker has got to enjoy playing with ZZ Top!! I mean, they are an iconic rock band. In fact, David did call them “the quintessential” rock band on American Idol Extra. So he definitely loved it. He was in his element for sure, and looked smokin’ H-A-W-T!!!
