Oh, DC I love you, I really do. THE American Idol. You’re fantastic.
Congrats.
About the song, it is best if I don’t say anything

Okay Okay
I can see this song taking off
I hate to say it but it’s catchy
and Cook makes it work
I don’t even remember hearing this one when they let us hear the top song songwriting choices
Why did the writer have to use the phrase “MAGIC RAINBOW” and how did he or she get away with that %$#^%!!?? ;}
But when Cook sings it.. I can deal with it. This song is going to catch on. Yeah baby!

Go Cook, I guess my cookfest has come to an end. How can we save “Time of My Life” like the other audio’s. Are you going to post.

Another cheesy ballad, but Cook did a great job on it. He made me like it more than I would’ve.

I love that note near the end. Great job, DC!

Exactly. David is an alchemist – he takes all the cheese and corniness and transforms it into something beautiful.
off topic, but did anyone else notice Castro almost catching his arm on fire during the first group number at the end?

Okay, let me put it this way.
I obviously love David Cook. He has an incredible ability to turn crappy songs into bearable ones. I now have Mariah Carey, Lionel Richie, and Duran Duran on my iPod – all artists that I absolutely CANNOT stand. Cook’s rearrangements and edgy vocals are able to trump cheesy lyrics and annoying melodies every time.
That being said, I cannot listen to the words ‘magic rainbow’ come out of David Cook’s mouth without feeling actual physical pain. Whoever wrote this song needs to be SHOT. Whoever voted for this song needs to go with them.
Seriously, magic rainbow?!?! The words magic OR rainbow would have been bad enough by themselves, but combined, they form a power duo terrible enough to actually make me avoid a David Cook song. Ugh.

Here’s info about the songwriter for THIS IS MY MOMENT. His name is REGIE HAMM of NASHVILLE. http://www.regiehamm.com/
I expected a kid. Not someone who looks seasoned.
Read the info on the page. Hamm also co-wrote a song (”Something About Us”) on Clay’s new CD.
Are these “winners” as anonymous and unknown to the producers as we are led to believe?

WTF is up with the stupid freaking lyric
“Magic Rainbow”???? Are you kidding me??????
I mean just good lord.. I can’t even express how absolutely freaking ridiculous those 2 words are together. I mean just damn… that’s even too cheesy for a freakin Disney movie.
Whoever wrote that crap needs to be hung by their toes and beaten with a sack of potatos. You want magic rainbows? I’ll show you magic rainbows *smacksmacksmack*

It’s not easy to catch cause the shot is super wide, but right at the end of “Get Ready” Jason is in the back left … and they’re all standing still with their right arms in the air. and the flames go shooting up. His arm appears to be in the flames, and he jumps back and runs a little circle there before going back and standing in his spot with his right arm in the air.

Was that Castro? I thought it was two of the dancers at the back row who were in a ruckus
Even in the shot I could see two people going around the area while everyone was in their places standing still.
Dont stop the music number in Idol gives back was so much better though, the opening was as “lively” as I wanted it to be!

I’m a total Cooktard, but awww, Archie’s smile is so genuine here. They’re both going to have huge careers.
DC has the most amazing composure ever. He managed to sing this fromage straight, and even through all the emotions, he hit. every. note. And I love, love, love that he had everyone come over and share the stage with him. Baby is a class act.

Also, I think the belleh is intentional and a total shout-out.

I love love love David Cook and am sooo happy and proud that he won!! Ohh and before I forget, the song is now available for download on Itunes!!
This song sucked, but I’m glad it was DC who got to sing it! I’m happy for him that he won. I hope he doesn’t get a big head! Did you see him ask that Kim chick out on TV in front of everybody? Their going on a date. I can’t stand her voice (sounds like Judge Judy).

I am so happy for David Cook. I love this guy, his sound, the way he performs. He is a star and has been most of the season.
What a wonderful person, too. He would not perform the song without Archie and the rest of the top 12 with him. He wanted them to have their recognition also. Simon was right, what a nice guy! I hope he stays that way and fame doesn’t change him…
DAVID COOK FOR THE WIN!!!! I LOVE YOU COOK!

Besos, I noticed I didn’t see Adam either. I hope he wasn’t too sick to be there. I know it must be hard on Cook and his family. I remember when my older brother was sick, and I felt like a zombie, kind of numb. There wasn’t anything I could do to comfort him or make him feel better or to take away the pain. It’s really hard…I hope his brother is able to recover. I understand that he has brain cancer and it has spread to his spine…that doesn’t sound too good. I’m really sorry for the Cook family…hope he gets better. With God all things are possible, you know!

So totally love what’s left of the belly (1), although I don’t think it was intentional on his part. Same thing happened when he performed “Little Sparrow,” although that time I attributed it to his guitar. On second thought, maybe it WAS a shout-out to his completely hopeless fans who would probably be excited at the chance to wipe his runny nose. Where did I put those Puff’s??

I hope they don’t release this as Cook’s first single. That would be too cruel, even for AI.
coca on May 22, 2008 at 10:26 am

Yeah, this song is one of finale song, not really good. It doesn’t make sense to release this as a single, I suggest to AI to dump the song writing contest, and make contestants write their songs before at least the lyrics.

I like it!! It’s better than most of the winner’s songs! Cook made it great!
Rickey, could you please post a download link to the MP3 of him performing this song live? Thank you!
I even like his stupid coronation song, dang it! I didn’t want to like it, because it is so cheesy. Dang it. I’m going to have to buy this one too. Dang it! Squirrelly–out!
