Stunning.

For me, and I’m sure for many of us, this was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. There will never be another Idol contestant like David Archuleta. What a privilege to watch a superstar growing right in front of us, and to be a part of his journey. I am so happy and excited and so wistful at the same time.

No matter what happens tomorrow night, Archie won tonight, and the world witnessed it.

I don’t know what everyone is talking about when they say the lines are wide open, I am in Utah, have been dialing straight for almost two hours and have been trying all three lines and have only gotten through a handful of times. Its either a busy signal or “all circuits are busy”. It is so frustrating. I have my whole family voting and nobody is having much luck. I voted while walking the dog for the night, feeding the cats, never putting down the phone. I want them all to count! DANG IT!

Sooooooo incredibly proud of David tonight. Just WOW! Where the heck did all that newfound confidence come from? He owned that stage tonight.

After the press junket on Leno and Ellen, who ever would have thought Simon would be the one to declare David a knockout? I’m still gobsmacked almost 3 hours later. Simon’s back in my good graces again.

Gizmo has been absolutely brutal tonight. It’s certainly been a test in patience.

I’ve been voting on Gizmo since the phone lines opened…it’s almost 1pm here where I live…

I’ve only been able to get a couple of times using Gizmo…most of the time I just hear a dial tone…using the Idol vote thing to get them to place 25 votes each time is really helping…

Well East Coast voting is over! I am so tired! 4 hours on my cell phone. I don’t know what is going to happen tomorrow but it doesn’t look good for Archie as far as DI and Zaba. Cookie is in the lead on both sites. I hope they are both wrong. How could they measure all of the cell phones right? Pork Chop had an amazing night, and I am so proud of him. DLTGDOM was my favourite performance. Loved the growl, soul and edginess in his voice. Chills.

In this Moment was heartfelt. Didn’t I say no one can sing an inspirational song as well as David.

Imagine was better than the first time. His runs were classy, sang with subtlety and grace, nothing overdone, just perfect.

David A is 17, was given a song which one of the most notorious AI singers sang (Clay), does school work in between all this stuff, and has been dealing with press stories about his father. Not to mention all the work/stress that goes into this show, which many of the contestants before (Brooke, Jason, etc.) did not handle well.

Still, after all that, this 17 old stood up there and delivered his best performances. He delivered when it counted. What more can he do?

If someone does not pick the kid up and give him an incredible recording deal that someone would be out of their mind.

I Lost my post…well…finished voting about 10 mins ago…just got the Gizmo message that voting is closed…voted for about 5 hrs, maybe 20 mins break…got in 2250 votes!!!was able to vote with all my accts, sometimes there were delays so I skipped and went on the next one in line…kept track of them so it worked, If there is a God, Archie WILL win!!..I live in Toronto and I don’t know, but I am now dialing the numbers…just in case..it is busy on the 3 lines!! For the record, both Davids have my utmost respect for coming this far and for their artistry. And it sounds funny when i found some cook fans said, Archie should sing ballad so that he can showed his vocal, not singing uptempo which ruins his chance to win (they saying as to incourage him)..but then, when Archie did that, all they said that he can only do ballads.

Well…that’s sad.

I still think for AI’s sake and for Archie’s performance last night, he should win (because if he did not give it all last night – which Angels can see it – we would not fight as this much).

Since Archie’s Heaven performance he captured me. I knew when Paula said he was “a gem for the whole world to see” that there was much more coming our way. Wow! Archie really blew me away! He was so relaxed and confident and gave a stellar performance in the finale. Never would I have thought to be experiencing so many emotions in an AI finale. This never happened to me before! During the other seasons, sure I was a Kelly, Clay, and Carrie fan but Archie really grabbed hold of my heart like no other. I was so overjoyed after his performances and hadn’t felt this kind of rush in a long time. I’m thrilled that Archie accomplished what he wanted to do. I hope we can do the same for him and get him that AI crown. If it’s meant to be, it will be. Both Davids are great.

Bianca and waverunner- I LOVE the T-shirt design! What a great idea. And David as “Voice of the Angels” made me tear up. I can’t wait to get one. Maybe I’ll get to wear it on tour and David will sign it! One can dream…well at least I gave up the fantasy of David singing at my wedding, lol. Looking forward to Atlantic City NJ…

I think both men will be quite successful in their careers and will get record deals – that is a give – they are money makers and AI knows this . They will both outsell Hicks and McPhee .

Still, I hope that somehow dialdiol hs it wrong – Archuleta deserves to win ,esp. after last night – David Cook is very good, but he did not bring it all to the table last night .

The people will never decide the winner as long as the skewed voting system remains in effect and it will , because AI wants to say ” we have 40 gazillion votes last night ” _ 5 votes per household is infintely more fair and would be a better reflection of the people’s choice .

Not everyone can stay up 4 hrs to vote and the busy signals were insane last night .
