After making Danny Noriega beg for a ticket to the finale, American Idol tells him that he’s not going because the show is “full”. Looks like the show has moved on faster than you can say TMTH.

Who can we write to again in Fox? Gosh, it seems everything is crazy right now over there. Danny did make the show interesting. If they let that “I am your brother” guy make an appearance like that big bird girl last year, and then Danny is not going to be in the audience, I think I’m going to pop an artery.

americanidol.com ran a poll on “Who would you like to see in the finale?” with Danny Noriega’s name on it, and I guess that’s “rigged” since Danny wasn’t every going anyway.

i’m not a fan of danny noriega but he is a contestant this year and is part of the show. can’t they spare one effing seat in the audience? actually, make that 12 seats for everyone who did not make it to the top 12. they deserve at least an invitation to watch the finale.

Seriously, Danny is such a drama queen. Having said that, I agree with his outrage: I didn’t realize the show didn’t reserve tickets for the Top 24. No, I don’t expect them to perform like the Top 12, but at least extend the courtesy and reserve tickets. There should be some reward for making the Top 24, no?

More and more, TPTB are showing themselves to be completely classless and tacky.

I agree, hello gorgeous. The 12 who didn’t make the Top 12 STILL had fans who voted for them and would love to see them again. It would have been nice of the producers to invite them back, even if only to be in the audience.

That bites. Though I’m not a super big fan of Danny’s, give the guy his due. He waited in line for an audition. He got through the gut-wrenching Hollywood cut-off. Sang for us. Gave Simon the “ish.” He deserves to be there, if not performing, then a seat as a reward.

The show has never really treated teens well. They basically add in a half dozen fairly talented teens and pray that no more than a couple make the tour.

Sad to say, AI/Fox is a conservative channel, they probably don’t want someone like Danny to show up on their finale. But why do they include his name on the list of who they wanna see on the finale, is that a surprise for those who has the highest votes, and why would they say it’s full, Ha ha ha. I wonder if all the other top 24 is not going, ha ha ha.

Anyways, it’s FOX/AI prerogative who to put on the show, but they should not make polls like that, and not invite the person in the poll, it’s probably an organization communication error, and if I were Danny, I would show more humility than do a rant online, maybe he should wait a bit till the poll was done, or the finale was done, before he does the rant, and let this all out, because AI/FOX might eventually invite him, who knows.

Have they ever invited the entire Top 24 to the finale? They should at least have the option to a ticket if they want to come. I suppose it all comes down to $$$ and TPTB don’t want to fork over airfare, hotel, transportation and meals for the 12 that didn’t make it-a small price to pay IMO for 12 folks that were pretty much put through hell for many months.

On a happier note: Kady, Colton Swon, Alaina W., Brandon Green, Kyle Ensley and Asia’h Epperson all did “mini” tour of their own in Oklahoma started on May 9th called American Idol “On our way tour”-they were hoping to do several cities but I don’t know if they are-haven’t heard

Although I was never a fan, I agree, he was part of the show and should have been offered tickets. I personally know that the Nokia Theatre is quite large, they could have knocked off 2 non-performers to allow him in.

They have now raised the age requirement in desperate search for halfway decent talent to “cast” a top 24(including people who have HAD record deals). I’d say they have searched for people to make a top list…throw in a dozed so-so teens and let America vote down to what they “cast” in the beginning.

2.They have known about DA since season one…and he is Just NOW on the show? (saving a trump card for the final season???)

3. The banter with Seacrest and Cowell has really escalated to rudeness and excessive pomp…plus how much longer can they keep Paula stable enough to go on…LOL

Bottom line is now it is geting harder and harder to keep stuff under wraps…from going viral and spoilers are a daily thing…myspace, blogs and disgruntled cast-offs abound! Harder and harder to find enough decent talent to keep going… all these young guys and gals up against the 30-ish doesn’t even seem like the same show any more…what’s next Senior Idol?

OMG Cookiemonster…give it up! if you are not bashing DA in other blogs and threads, you are saying that AI would not want “someone like Danny” on the show!!?? That’s just not right! what planet are youu from?? I am a firm believer that Danny more than earned the right to be there, it should not be AI’s option, but rather their obligation to see that he attends!I am a 47 year old mother and It has nothing to do with who he is or what he does, he is a great guy that not only entertained us for a while, but made really good friendships on that show and, YES, helped with their ratings as well!…Rickey…2 things: find out how to change this travesty of justice and straighten up “cookiemonster”, he needs to tone down a notch(or two!)! and last but not least…Archie IS the IDOL already!

Let’s not be naive or mince words here. They don’t want him on the finale for the same reason he was voted off the show: because he is gay, out, and proud. It’s really unsurprising that a network like Fox would scrub an openly gay (the first openly gay?) idol contestant from the finale.

We’re not ‘family entertainment’, after all, right?

American Idol earns a huge FAIL for this one.

I feel sad for him for not going, but his rant online is not helping him either, as it’s not yet final, but when he made that rant, he implied everything is final and even said AI is full of shit, that is just whining and throwing a tantrum, AI/FOX has a choice of inviting him or not, and putting his name on the poll, that’s why I think there was an org comm problem.

I agree with everyone who says that this is messed up. But it doesn’t surprise me that AI would do something like this. The show loses creditbility every season. Every season there’s a scandal, or two, or three.

I also think the 12 that didn’t make the finals should have been offered ticket before anyone else.

What they need to stop doing is inviting the rejects from the bad auditions to the finale.

The people watching the show are Idol viewers, many of whom would be more interested in seeing Danny than the dozens of celebrity plants who will delight us with a closeup.

I think it’s too bad. I wish all of the top 24 would be invited to see the Davids finale.

I think in the planning of the show for the night, they’re thinking may be, “If we have 1 we should have them all and to ensure that we would have them all we would have to pay the expenses.” I don’t know, maybe that is way off base, but I don’t really believe the “Gay” issue is a factor. What I do think is that Danny has found his niche as an “Outragous” character and he is milking it for all its worth, perhaps even with some guidence from Miss Rosie

This whole thing is ridiculous! The Top 24 should all be invited to the finale-end of story. How could they not be. They started this whole season. AI is really annoying methis year with everything that is going on and now this. How could they not invite the Top 24. It just doesn’t make sense. I have been such a loyal fan to AI all 7 seasons. I really don’t think I have it in me to watch next year or this show needs to be cancelled.

Does anyone know if this a change in protocol? Have the top 24 from previous seasons been given tickets in the past?

Maybe this is the way it has always been? Maybe Danny is just following the footsteps of certain others that have choosen to be Vocal this season. There seems to be a certain “mood” with contestants and family members/friends thumbing their noses at the TPTB this season and ignoring the terms of their agreements.

Typically when you sign up to do these kind of reality shows you have to sign contracts saying you will not disclose certain things that go on during taping or speak out in any derogatory manner about the show or it’s producers and members.

I’ve been to 3 American Idol finales and I HAVE seen people from the Top 24 there. They don’t usually get primo floor seats with camera opportunities but they get a ticket!

I remember running into a bunch of semi-finalists (like Will Makar) during the Season 5 finale.

So Danny not getting a ticket is bull-pucky! None of the semi-finalists should have to beg for a ticket, it SHOULD be automatic.

Like someone said, if they can give people like Big Bird woman, Bush Baby and Crying Girl tickets, they can certainly give Danny a ticket!

Honestly, I don’t see the big deal is here. If you can tell me the other 11 in the top 24 were offered tickets and he wasn’t, that would be a different thing. However, this sense of entitlement needs to just stop. He was on the air singing for how many weeks, did some talk shows once he is voted off, got the cruise, and has become a YouTube regular, and yet he feels slighted because he doesn’t get a ticket for the finale? Get a grip. If everyone who worked on the show got a ticket, they better be planning to hold it in a large stadium.

Just want to add Danny was not the first gay on AI, for there was Jim Verraros on Season 1.

You DA fans sure do like to act like DA is the end all to everything, don’t you? Like he’s the “trump card” they’ve been saving just to blow us ALLLLL away! Oooh! lol

I believe there is an AGE RESTRICTION on the auditions. You must be at least 16 on a certain date. Seeing how DA was 16 during THIS season’s auditions, I would imagine that he would have been only 15 during last season’s auditions (or at least 15 on the cut off date). Therefore, even if the producers would have liked to play their phenomenal “trump card”, they would not have been able to do so without changing the age restriction altogether. Unless, of course, you are suggesting that the rules do not apply to DA (which truly would not surprise me at all)…

Well, he said he was in Hollywood last season (not sure if he actually appeared during the audition/Hollywood episodes) and then this season he made it to the top 24. Danny was top 24, and therefore a ticket to the finale should be a no-brainer, a non-issue, but for some reason it is. Could it be b/c TPTB is trying to create more drama to get more viewers to watch…to see if Danny IS there in the audience? I personally feel he WILL be there, he better be. Love him or hate him, he was top 24, nearly made it to top 12 and absolutely deserves to be there.

I was really entertained by Danny – he was one of my favorites and was a far better singer than many who made it a lot further on AI.

There had been a rumor that there would be a wild card to have one of the eliminated contestants brought back and I was hoping it would be Danny – guess it was just that , a rumor : (

I have to admire Danny in a way for having the nerve to expose all this drama on youtube , but that is his age talking . Older contestants would prob. not want to burn their bridges and would be more discreet , but Danny ” making noise ” will probably garner him the ticket if he still wants it .

AI is very manipulative of people as we all learn more and more every season – still,we all seem to get suckered in – every few seasons the show is worth watching . This year the finale will be predictable – early fave and mine , Archuleta will most likely finish at #2 as Simon has made his ” prediciton” that David Cook will win – is Simon ever wrong ? : )

Chercat – Simon hasn’t predicted Cook will win , at least as far as I know. He said Cook deserves to win and that he’d like him to win but he said he can’t predict anything until he knows what they’re singing. In the interviews I’ve seen he’s always given Archie the edge based on his fan base.

Danny didn’t just become a YouTube regular when he left Idol. He’s been on YouTube for at least the past two years. He had already developed a modest following long before auditioning for season 6 and it just kept growing. Many of his AI fans first found out about him on YouTube, Myspace and Stickam.

And he may not be the first gay contestant on the show, but anyone who’s watched the show since season 1 knows how the AI producers feel about openly gay contestants. He’s mentioned in interviews that the producers of AI told him to “tone it down”. According to interviews with Jim Verraros and RJ Helton, they have also said that the producers told them the same thing.

Ok, David Cook deserves to win according to Simon and Simon would like him to win – I think Simon usually calls it as it will be .

As far as Archuleta having the edge with the fanbase that may be true – but if Itunes sales are any indication of the winner,then it will be David Cook.

Let’s face it – the voting system is very flawed . There should be a 5 call limit per telephone number and then we will see very different outcomes as to who the winners are – Clay clearly ” won” over Reuben but there was a huge thing about people could not get through the phone lines to vote for Clay – his fanbase is rabid !

Both Cook and Archuleta are good and will sell a lot of Cd’s – I just prefer that David A . is the winner but #2’s have not fared too badly from AI either so not that big a deal to me .

I think Rickey appreciates freedom of choice here on his blogs, and he is not quick to cut some one off because Rickey is openminded and knows we need to hear “everyones” opinions, including yours, Patty. However, Cookiemonster is no more abrasive on these sites than some of you rapid DA fans. You are quick to jump on cookie fans, and then quick to ask us to kicked off the site when we retaliate…Rickey is fair and will leave it as it is. He wants everyone to be able to express their opinions!

I think Danny s/b able to attend, too. I enjoyed watching him perform. I think all of the 24 should have tickets (not necessarily paid flights/hotels, etc.). Why couldn’t they save 12 more seats?? Huh? Hope to see more of Danny down the line…Squirrelly–out!!

I absolutely agree. Danny was the only thing i was looking forward too in the beginning of the season, and when he left it was like when sanjaya left – i didn’t really cared what happened after that. How stupid of AI to not give him a single ticket.

ok.. i really liked Danny Noriega.. and yes.. it would have been nice if they’d given all the top 24 tickets.. but you know what? This crapping on the show that gave you your 15 minutes.. is not only unprofessional, but uncalled for. If the others didn’t get tickets, then why should Danny? I really did like him on the show.. his last performance and the jailhouse rock were the worst.. but I loved everything else, especially his personality.. but making this youtube video, with those ridiculous glasses,, his cell phone ringing in the background and his mom calling him to do chores or whatever she wanted.. just makes him look like a loser.

He really needs some professional advice before he ruins his chances at a career.
