I have a feeling that Lord Andrew actually likes Brooke the most.
Her voice reminds me of Madonna’s Evita here.

I really do think it is Brooke’s turn to leave. This late in the competition she should be a little more professional. Her voice was not up to par after her mistake.

I don’t think you can screw up to that degree in the top 6 and stay around.

It was a mess, as was Jason’s performance, but I don’t think she has Jason’s fanbase.

This is what I expected from Brooke. She isn’t an artist that does well outside of her element. She picked a song that was to much for her, vocally and emotionally. To bad as I think she would have done well with Neil Diamond week.

i’m usually on DC threads, but wanted to give a shout out to Brooke. I think the judges were way harsh. I thought she put a lot of great emotion into it. Keep your confidence, Brooke!

FINALLY a FAIR evaluation. And she said this was the first time she restarted, that’s not true. She started in the wrong key once and had to start over, and they excused it. Bye Brooke!

Look, Paula got it right & it had to be said. At this point in the competition – the final 6 – & the singer breaks the song?? An absolute NO-NO.

Simon was surprisingly careful in the wording of his critique towards Brooke. Does he know something we don’t know?

Amazingly, she gave zero backtalk.

I agree, this is not the first time she had to start over. She did this before and tonight there was not excuse for this. My husband loved the fact that finally Paula was dirt honest because she didn’t like her stopping and starting over again and called her on it!

I thought she looked terrible nervous. She needs to leave this week!

Well, even if she doesn’t get the lowest votes, surely the producers will be sending her packing tomorrow. Surely they don’t want everyone to witness her complete and utter breakdown if she should actually stay one more week. It’s like her emotional stability is getting worse every week. I think it would be a blessing for her to go home when some people can still remember several of her good performances.

I’m with you AIFan2boot,,,will someone PLEASE mark this date down…Paula actually was “straight up now” and didn’t hem/haw or beat around the bush or give her throw away critique of “You look Pretty tonight”.

I was actually PROUD of Paula for being truthful!

Brooke…that was an awful perfomance (again)…your voice was shakey after the redo and lacked confident and professionalism…and though some may have felt you were “sincere” and “felt” your heart…the performance vocally SUCKED.

If you don’t get the boot Wednesday…it will be a shame that you stay while others that have performed better the last few weeks get the final axe.

This was almost scary to watch. If Brooke seriously does not get voted out tomorrow night, I am just disgusted with America’’s voting and people should have to enroll in proper American Idol viewing, judging and voting classes. Seriously, people, enough is enough. She stopped a few lines into the song as the band was playing, eeks. How many times has Paula said on the show that if something happens with the lyric play it off, do something, you are a performer. Umm, sorry? Sorry, indeed. She did not shine on the rest of the song either. She just looked scared and traumatized. When a person sings a song and you long for the vocal prowess of Madonna, eeks. (I never in My entire life thought that I would say vocal prowess and Madonna is the same sentence. The woman is a talented performer, entertainer and reinventer and a truly amazing, brilliant businesswoman. Vocally, however, she is a testament to the act that after 25+ yrs of vocal training if you don’t have vocal talent, all the money and training and sound engineers in the world are not going to buy you vocal talent.)

Returning to the matter at hand. The performance was not vocally gifted. I like that ALW told her to actually think about what she was actually singing, but she was on the verge of a nervous breakdown up there. Although, every week I think that she is just going to snap. It is scary. All the mouth clenching and the shaking of the body and voice is disturbing to watch and listen to. People, please, release her from her cage that is American Idol and send her to a spa in Maui for a week, she needs it. She is not well and anyone can see it. Free Brooke! Fly, little bird, fly. This is as far as she should go in this competition…..well, actually furher than she should have gone even probably. Enough. Let her go get signed making folk music, but not AI. Enough!

Gosh, I hope this does not come off harsh, because I only wish the best to anyone, it’s just that for her sake and ours, it is time for her to go and get well. And I must add, I actually really liked
Brooke a LOT during the auditions. It’s about being objective though.

I loved the vocal after the mess-up; I didn’t know Brooke had that in her. That said, and although Brooke has been in my top 3 since the top 24, I think she should go home due to the mess-up. It’s really unfortunate.

Supergirl #19 – Funny and absolutely true. The first people who should enroll in AI classes are Randy and Simon who made a huge deal when DA forgot his words (the fist time, not so much last night)but told Brooke it was OK to stop and start over when she forgot her lyrics – AGAIN. WHAT?? Brooke has always seemed too fragile to make it in show business. Every time she performs you can see her shaking and almost smell her fear.

Jason was not his usual self last night, but no one mentioned he was really sick like they did for several others and thus sorta giving them a pass. But at least he finished the song and remembered the words. And, after listening to “Memory” again several times, I thought it was beautiful with the exception of the lower parts which I’m guessing Jason had trouble with due to his cold. Pop Quiz: Can you guess who my fav is???? lol! Anyway, I hope the voters give him a pass due to his illness and hope for another Jason classic like “Over the Rainbow” next week.

I think it worked out well that the song she was doing required some raw emotion. After the restart it felt genuine. I didn’t hate it (dawg). Luckily they didn’t come way in close like last week when she was at the piano and you could see her hair shaking from her nervousness.

But I agree with those who think she should go this week.

I actually think her vocal is the most suited for that song. And she really brought all the emotions behind the song out. Not the best performance of the night, but I still like it.

I loved her performance and don’t think she should be judged harshly on starting over. I’ve been to concerts where the singers started over, made a joke about it, and the audience loved them anyway. I don’t see anyone judging David Archuleta harshly for forgetting his words earlier in the competition. We’re all human. We make mistakes.

The difference between David A. and her is that the contestants were told if you forget the lyrics try to keep going. She completely forgot them and made the band stop and start, which makes her look much worse than if she would have just muddled her way through it a few seconds until her memory was jogged.

At this stage of the competition, I don’t think there’s any excuse for any contestant (David A. or not!) to forget their lyrics. They are performing in front of millions of people. This is make it or break it time for them.

Besides the fact that even after she remembered and started again, the vocal wasn’t good because she was so nervous and it was quite evident. If you’re going to do a song like Madonna pulled off, you have to sing with power and conviction. her mess up threw her completely off for the rest of the song. Let’s hope she does better tonight when she sings it again after being booted off.

I loved Brooke’s performance and the fact that she had to start over didn’t bother me. It was worth it to hear her heartfelt singing.
