It’s not time for her to go. I’d like to hear her sing without going for the big power notes sometime. She has a great voice but I think she tries too hard to knock it out of the park. The first part of the song was beautiful.

im kind of geting tired of the lies about carly , shes not a bad singer , but i love how she acted like she met mc for the first time and she was so “excited” to meet her. when vftw revealed that mc and carly have met many times before when she failed to see over 300 copies of her cd.

I really think that Brook, sadly, will be leaving us. She has the lowest number of votes on dialidol….I know they aren’t always correct, but I just have a feeling. I certainly hope not. She didn’t do great tonight, but I still just love her.
As long as Jason is safe though, i’ll be a’ight.

accually no i don’t blame if she didn’t remember her , i’m sure mc meets alot of “up and coming” artitsts and carly only sold what 200 copies of her cd? so why would mc remember carly? also they met almost over 7 years ago. however i highly doubt carly would forget somthing like meeeting mc. btw they were quotes out of a magazine not somthing made up , mc quotes

And Carly was very good. I don’t know what Simon’s deal is with her…..she’s definitely the strongest female voice! I think sometimes her intensity, via expressions and tone, work against her. She can be scary. She shouldn’t be going home though, that’s for sure!

That quote suggests nothing about meeting each other. But since it mentions Mariah being one of Carly’s fans, it would seem to suggest that Mariah’s certainly aware of her. In the end, I’ll take their exchange at face value over an unattributed blurb in Star magazine.

I’m a Carly fan, but I’m not so biased that I can’t be critical. This week, I thought her singing was absolutely beautiful. I don’t know what she has to do. They obviously want her out. The David’s are without a doubt the chosen ones. Due to obviously large fan bases, I don’t think she’d ever beat either of them so my guess is they don’t want to take the chance that Carly could make either of them sound weak toward the end of the competition. I’m trying to stay above it all because I like all the contestants, but it’s getting more difficult not to feel a little angry and disappointed in the very biased judging.

Well said Mahrikka….Very good point, I agree that having her in the final three may lessen the phenomenal dynamic of “the Davids’” I don’t know if I buy the conspiracy theory stuff, but if it IS true, that is a totally valid argument!

Bah, Carly wasn’t hitting the right notes tonight, literally. Clay Aiken’s version of Without You blows Carly out of the water. She tried to hard, and missed the notes.

I don’t like Carly, but I’d much rather see Kristy Lee Cook go home this week.

Carly started this song good, but then most of the rest is her trying to hard. The original is really great and Mariah’s is great too, so it’s hard not to compare.

The final note sort of felt like it didn’t belong, reminiscent of “Total Eclipse”. But Carly did sing it absolutely well, like she always does. She might have undulated to her Power notes one too many times but she is definitely worthy of a higher place than 7th. I don’t know what else she’s got to do to impress the judges! It’s ridiculous. Anyway, go Carly!

I just heard Clay Aiken sing this song and I was like, Wow! Awesome! Much better than Carly did it. I’ll be looking to see if someone posts the studio version of Carly to see how she did it on it there verses live.

I love Carly, but I’m not going to be surprised if she’s in the Bottom 3 tomorrow. Truth be told, it wasn’t her best performance. I think the real downer was during the bridge, when she started off in a low range and then slowly made her octaves higher.

That part of the song should have been continuously sung in high octave range, and I think that was the only downside to Carly’s performance tonight.

She shouldn’t be leaving tomorrow night, but as always, we can’t predict what is gonna happen. Good luck to Carly!

I just don’t understand why Simon never likes Carly. I believe she has one of the best voices in the competition. If you just listen to her mp3 on here, her voice is so clear and beautiful.
Not understanding what he is hearing that I don’t.
David C. is my favorite but I think Carly should be right up there with him. She has a beautiful voice.

I’ve never liked Carly but…

The whole story about her being a plant now seems a lot less convincing than it appeared. Here is a girl hated for, mostly, joining a competition meant for amateur singers. She was blamed for the attention and love Idol was showing her when in fact it’s not like she paid for any of it, or has any actual influence on the show. Truth be told Carly was a nobody, and Idol decided to pimp her for their own interests. She had no say on how they treated her. After all, why would she? Bluntly put, she was a has-been.

Now, with all the controversy and anger she’s caused, they’ve decided not to use her. So the judges kept bringing her down every week, until this week where they let her sing a huge song with a long history in Idol… to basically say, “Well now, you’re not good enough after all.”, and cast her away. I think (this is just me, by the way) whether or not she sang that song well, her fate has been decided.

I did hate Carly, it’s true. But now I feel kind of sorry for her… she was used, first as a “plant” that, with her experience, could earn Idol lots of cash. And now, again, her career (and life) is being toyed with as they decide that despite being the best female vocalist left they can do without the controversy. It really feels like they just treated her as a pawn.

Notice how Ryan, who often defends the contestants, did not take the easy shot at Simon comparing Carly to Kelly one day and then shooting her down constantly there after…

Claymedmyheart~~~~ I said the very same thing when Carly was singing Without You. Not nearly as good as Clay. Also said the same thing on Dolly week when Carly sang Here You Come Again. Listen to Clay’s version. His, again, is MUCH better. Awesome range displayed, no over-singing, just a really good vocal.

That is exactly what Simon said. He should realize his voice is getting picked up. Imagine what her family thinks if they notice it. On that note, I thought the first half of the song was great and she again showed that it is very tough for her to hit those big notes. She looks like she is in pain. I hope she doesn’t leave. Frankly, it is time for Miss goody-goody Brooke White to go home.

She didn’t do good at all.

None from the judges made a good comment on her performance last night. NOT good enough to keep her.

Can’t wait to see her eliminated. Sorry Carly’s fans – I don’t hate her but I just don’t like her.

well MS_E, your not the only one that doesn’t like her! the truth be told THOUGH, this woman is hands down the best female vocalist this season has seen and it’s really a darn shame that she’s been having such a tough time….I like her alot and think she is extremely talented….I just hate that the cards have been so stacked against her from day one! Ugh….

i do think that in”without You” Carly did a good job. I don’t care what the judges said tough. We can have our personal opinion rite ?
And I think Carly has been treated a bit unfairly during the competition. With the record deal and stuff. Brooke and David Cook has an album as well right ? But no pimping on that one..that make her one of the enemy on this season Idol. Which caused peoples can’t or don’t want to see that she got the voice
