You said it, Violet! That was an A-plus show opener & David Cook & Jason (honestly) sounded FABULOUS! Just those few lines. I also have to give props to Syeshas’ vocals that fit in perfectly with that hot dance tune.

David Cook has a mic just like everyone else on the stage, yet when he sings… his projection is so forceful… I cannot fully describe it.

I can’t believe MILEY CYRUS sang her single and not something relevant to the show or its theme.

if you remember, last year, kelly clarkson refused to sing NEVER AGAIN as it would have been tasteless and irrelevant to the purpose of Idol Gives Back.

i loved the musical ‘rent’ and seasons of love is one of my all time faves, but their group performance of this song was only alright for me (were some of their mics off?). the opening number was totally awesome though loved it!

Well, it turns out you can purchase the video of ‘Don’t Stop the Music’ on iTunes, and you’re both right about who’s touching DC. First, it was Lauren and in the final pose, it was Lacey. That performance was great. Makes me really miss all those dancers. I can’t wait for SYTYCD and I think it would be incredible for them to tour together. And I believe that hip-hop crew was JabbaWockeeZ, winners of Randy’s Jackson’s America’s Best Dance Crew. If you didn’t catch the show, check them out on YouTube. They’re incredible! I hope they are also on the tour!

Yea! Jason got a solo in the opening number and sounded great! Loved how he even got a little Jason falsetto in there! As Randy would say, “he rocked it out!” Wanted to see some of his dorky dancing though. DC, Carly and Syesha sounded good too!

Wouldn’t it get great to see the SYTYCD on tour with the Idols? THAT would be worth the money to see!

Loved the RENT song! Everyone did well, except Kristy’s mike was too loud!

movin2thabeet – that wasn’t JabbaWockeeZ dancing. That was Hok, Dominic, Ryan and 2 other guys from their crew. There were 2 really awesome parts of their routine. The head slide flip over a guy kneeling and the back flip over 2 guys going sidewards. CRAZY cool.

A bit of clarification about Lauren/Lacey with David Cook. After watching it over again on my DVR, the answer is BOTH correct! Lauren was next to David Cook early during the number (on HIS right) but at the end of the number, it was Lacey (on HIS left).

Does anyone know if there is video footage of the entire performance? I assume it was taped before the live telecast, given that it happens alot. Plus, during the live broadcast the Idols were in the regular studio answering calls and not in the Kodak where that number was performed.

Anyway, reason I ask is because I downloaded the audio from iTunes. But there are more singers than in the video. From my best estimation, the iTunes audio has:

Syesha: “It’s getting late … I’m making my way over to my favorite place … I gotta get my body moving … Shake the stress away”

M. Johns: “I wasn’t looking for nobody when you looked my way … Possible candidate, yeah”

Kristi: “Who knew … That you’d be up in here looking like you do … You’re making staying over here, impossible”

Castro: “Baby, I must say your aura is incredible … If you don’t have to go, don’t”

Carly: “Do you know what you started? … I just came here to party … But now we’re rockin’ on the dance floor, actin’ naughty”

Cook: “Your hands around my waist … Just let the music play … We’re hand in hand, chest to chest, and now we’re face to face”

Michael Johns and Kristi Lee Cook vocals were not in the video. Anyone know if the full video clip exists?
