Simon Cowell just warned us that Carly could be eliminated, which is a red flag at this point. Oh well.

Could be a setup for a Carly and Michael Bottom 3 shocker.

I don’t know what she was thinking, but shouting practically the whole song probably doesn’t hit most of the AI voting population very well. IMO the worst of the night.

OMG, I can’t bear to watch tonight. Carly, Carly, oh no! Please save Carly. She’s killed it so many times without credit and deserves another chance. And, she could have done it again tonight, but what was she thinking with that song choice? This would have been the night for soft, pretty and meaningful. I’m going to be voting like crazy tonight for sure. Rickey, I’m afraid you were right long ago about Carly being the shock elimination.

i just listened to the audio without watching the show yet, and to be honest, her vocals sound fine. it’s a shame people can’t listen without bias.

Carly’s got a great voice. I love this song. She faltered ONLY on the very end…what everyone remembers unfortunately…but she’s really really good.

That song had great dynamics and she delivered. My only advice…you listening Carly…is keep that mic up close when you do the power runs. Taking the mic away shows me a little lack of confidence in those awesome pipes.

that was horrendous!! she doesnt have the voice to sing ultra-high notes. it’s always so flat. that was ridiculous. bottom three for sure and probably she will go home. syesha is in trouble too.

anyone who listened to that and thought “Awful” was way off. listen to the audio and without the bias, and you will see it was a good vocal.

I am a Carly fan, but even I can admit that at some points in the song, she was pitchy. However, she is still, IMO, the best female vocalist this year.

At least her performance tonight was watchable. I could barely sit through Brooke’s for all of fifteen seconds without being bored.

Carly is certainly 1 of the most skilled female vocalists of this season & others. I really regret that the band was so damn loud tonight resulting in her screwing up the ending with that shrieky yelling. The song was a dramatic selection & could have worked far better.

I should wait until I watch on the television on my own before making comments. It was not my favorite Carly performance, and it was noticeable that she lost a bit of control toward the very end, but it was okay. Standards are so high for Carly, and I’m guilty of having them myself. I expect stellar every time, but she’s human, and everyone has off nights. I saw serious but not angry faces. When things are repeated enough, people begin to believe them whether true or not. She certainly deserves to stay.

I agree that Carly cannot go home. She is one of the best vocalists left and definitely the best female vocalist left. She got all my votes tonight. If she survives I hope she is more prudent about her song choice next week.

I agree with Simon; she oversang it and looked and sounded angry throughout, but then again I think she ALWAYS makes that angry face when she sings anything, (and she often over-sings too)! That’s why we get all the scary photos of her!
Actually I think she knows this, and I’m half suspecting she’s had botox or some other injection into her forehead & between-the-brows frown wrinkle in an effort to demobilize it. She frowns there all the time when she tries to emote a song. Check it out now versus earlier; it looks like they’re smoothing it out for her.

It sounds like she practiced this song too much and overstretched her vocals. That’s why it didn’t sound as good as it could have.

I really hope she doesn’t go home. I love her and her voice.

I just watched Paris on YouTube. Thanks bfashion58! That was fun! I think Carly’s voice has more power but she should have watched Paris deliver on that song! When she sings “hero” and flexes the biceps and then “draws the curtains” with her hands at her face, then pumping that leg. “That’s what this competition is all about, dawg!”

To be a star you have to learn to work the body and the stage along with the voice. Young Paris has all of that.

I can’t believe she said that she didn’t do well because she looked at Simon!

This girl has every excuse in the frickin’ book, I swear!

Her albulm failed because of 9/11, her record company imploded, she’s allergic to her dog, she’s sick with the flu, her Spanx are too tight, she looked at Simon and he put a Voodoo Hex on her.

She is not very good and has aleady had a contract worth 2 million and only sold 378 CDs. She should not win. She’s pretty and can sing but has no emotion and I have no connection when I listen to her. I think she’s gone, she and all of the women.

Paris Bennet was soooo good singing this. I was kind of surprised that she didn’t get so much praise that night. Anyway, because of Paris this became one of my favorite songs. When I heard that Carly sang this song, I watched it online first because if it was anywhere near Paris’s performance, it would be a phenomenal night for Carly. Unfortunately she fell extremely short… light years short.
