It was really good- nice song choice, good energy. He was much more *present* than he usually is. He still needs to learn how to not breathe straight into the microphone, but that’s getting picky, I know.

I loved it, a great vocal by Jason! He stepped it up and chose a great song for him. As far as Simon, funny how you never understand any song that has a spiritual message.

I really thought it was just ok. Maybe because there were so many good performances early, including a few great performances from Justin, I’m disappointed that some of them aren’t getting better.

Jason is hot though!

This was his most invested performance in weeks. Started out rough but got it on after a while.

Didn’t arrive at anywhere significant but it was nice watching him perform.

I don’t know whether Simon is just DONE with Jason but that was a very good performance by my guy. I was pleased with his upbeat song selection & resulting song delivery. Paula was correct that Jasons’ vocals this evening were his strongest. I think strongest since Hallelujah & Daydream.

Jason also looked particularly shiny & bright-eyed & his eyes were never more blue. I was so excited when he walked out on stage. He should be SAFE tomorrow!

By the way, I’m voting like crazy, even as I’m posting! YAY!

Yeh, that Simon. We’ve seen it before where he has decided someone has not lived up to his expectations and just wants them off the show. Think Sanjaya. just for one example? Ya kicked Jason up the a$$ last time, Simon, where ya trying to kick him tonight? I loved it, and not just because I think Jason is just too hot for words.

I really wonder what type of music Simon envisions for Jason. He could not have picked a better song or arrangement for his voice- it’s the exact style I want to hear (and buy!) from him. I thought his performance was authentic and sincere.

Very John Mayer/Jack Johnson, which will sell very well.

This cant be right. Jason is in the bottom 3 on DI. Darn that Simon. I thought Jason was great tonight. His performance reminded me of Daydream as far as Jason being confident, upbeat, and his vocals were strong.

It was good, and I DO like Jason…but it was really predictable. I’m still looking for the hot, hot vocals we saw on Halleleujah. I do agree that Jason seemed much more confident and “with it” tonight. I think he nearly made it through without making a funny face!

I loved this performance, it reminded me of a very young Bob Dylan. Jason looked the part, sang with feeling, and seemed genuinely grateful at the positive comments of Randy and Paula. Simon’s comments surprised me.

I watched the video again and it was pretty good. I mean his vocals were strong at the right parts. I know Jason does have a very pretty voice and he did do a good job. He did as much as he good with that song but too bad he couldn’t do the whole song. I think they still are only allowed to do a shortened version. I wanted to hear more, and I might add that Jason looked very cute fresh and bright eyed with those gorgeous baby blue eyes.

oooh, I do like him better with his guitar. There’s something about a man who can not only sing but play an instrument that’s just sexy. And this performance was much better than last week’s, IMO.
I think Jason’s hot. And since he’s 21, it’s okay for me to droooool.
I hope he doesn’t leave anytime soon! Stay longer, Jason, stay! I even broke away from dialing for David A. for a while to vote for you! *sigh*

I thought this was a strong performance by Jason, and I didn’t understand the judges’ comments. Actually, I think this was a good week for a lot of the contestants.

Nice…not great. He sometimes gets lost in the mix…he needs to push himself to stand out from the arrangment a bit more…but he is what he is, and that is fun!

i really liked it a lot , i actually like how he gets lost in the music sometimes , i think it shows his love for music personally. i really liked him last night, i think he is one of the top 5 maybe even top 3 singers this year. i really can’t wait to get the studio ver off of itunes later on , like i said b4 many times i really could hear him singing on the radio with a hit single like somthing like this. he seems like he is allways having a good time up there and hes never nervous or well he never looks like he is.

Simon obviously going into his throw the contestants who might be a factor (against his favorites) under the bus mode.

I loved Jason’s performance, his phrasing, his tone the treatment stayed true to how Dolly wrote the song. His voice has such great raw emotion. He was one of my favorites this week.

i generally agree with simon’s assessments, but tonight i couldn’t have disagreed more with his take on travellin through! i have to wonder if simon has an ulterior motive for his reaction – like this could be viewed as a Christian song and simon doesn’t want religion to become a factor for picking an idol. hmmmmmmmmmmmm.
