She should’ve gone home day 1 of Hollywood.

Just because Simon said it was her “best” performance, doesn’t mean she should stay because of ONE good performance.

Kristy’s vocals are getting better. This was a great song for her and will keep her out of the bottom 3. I don’t think she can keep this up. She hasn’t yet shown that she’s a performer on the big stage.

There were pitch problems all over the place! I was like cringing pretty much the entire song. She hit the last note yes, but gosh, the rest was horrible. ESPECIALLY going into the key change, where she had an opportunity to add so much momentum, and she did nothing! GO HOME KRISTY LEE COOK! PLEASE!

Totally agree, girlygirl…a blatantly desperate act on her part. Also, I hate that song with a passion. I dislike her more now, which I thought was not possible. Unfortunately, I think she’ll be around next week.

It is obvious that there are a lot of people on here that do not understand country music, or the country attitude. This choice was fantastic and definitely keeps her in the contest another week.

Personally I’m a bit offended by her choice, seeing as how it seems chosen for blatent manipulation. She’s my choice to go this week and I’m standing by that choice just as I’ve stood by all the others that have put me at the bottom of the pack in the pool.

jbeeeb–I don’t think it’s a question of understanding country music. Good music is good music, plain and simple. There are some good country songs and some awful country songs (some of which are also horribly cloying and maudlin, like this one). I recognize that musical tastes are subjective, and I subjectively despise this song while I like other country songs.

I guess I don’t understand the “country attitude”, whatever that means. I know that there have been some very mediocre to downright bad singers that stay on AI longer than they deserve because they are country. So if that’s what the country attitude offers, I’m happy to be in the dark about it.
