What I am beginning to like about Chikezie is his comfort level on stage & my not having to worry whether he’ll flub his lines or notes. I don’t know how much experience he has & whether the country slant for last week & this weeks’ performances is a natural due to a real personal preference on his part, but I & possibly others can see country in his future. I happen to enjoy country music sung well myself. I believe Chikezie has a beautiful voice & although tonights’ arrangement was a bit ambitious, it wasn’t in the dreaded ‘bottom 3′ for me. Those slots should be occupied by Kristy & Michael, to name 2.

I actually really liked how he sounded during the slow beginning part. It was very nice…but the rest of the performance is another story.

Correction: Michael doesn’t belong in the bottom 3 this week. Perhaps Amanda who was a favorite of mine but is now slipping into “sameness” as others have pointed out, is more appropriate. I hate to admit it, but, anyway…

I think he took a step backwards this week, and is in danger of being in the bottom 3, because a lot of the other performances were good this week. I don’t think he DESERVES to be in the bottom three based on vocals, but I think he needed 3 good weeks in a row to build momentum.

I really liked the first part of this performance. I wished he’d done a full ballad. As is, it’s like a parody of the typically Idol “Do the first part of a song slowly and tenderly, and then do the rest in the normal tempo” arrangement.

I liked this performance, but it was a throwback to last week’s style. The bluegrass style didn’t fit as well with this song. As far as the harmonica, Simon was right: gimmicky.

Jacuzzi was my favorite of the night. I thought his vocals were spot on & the wacky arrangement was pure awesomeness. He’s quickly becoming one of my faves.

As for the harmonica, THAT was my favorite part. Simon & the rest of the boobs didn’t understand the genius of Jacuzzi making a joke at the expense of the other contestants who use instruments. A tremendous use of non-verbal sarcasm!

My husband’s favorite of the night, and I did enjoy it AFTER he picked up the pace — countrified as it were. If Kristy Lee had gone this route with her songs — a rockin’ country, she might have done better. I’m thinking Kristy will (and deserves) to go home this week.

Too bad. A lot of males would want to see that body on tour.

I liked the beginning of this a lot but when it went into double-time it seemed like Chikizie was pushing everything a little too much – just a tad bit of over-singing. I again haven’t seen the performance (like last week), and I wonder if most of the magic comes from the performance of the song rather than from the vocals.

I like Chikieze, though the harmonica part was weird.

More importantly, though, I can’t believe they didn’t show Austin Clark’s face! I was so looking forward to seeing him and all we got was his fingers. Now I have to wait until Idol Gives Back. Waaaaa!

I thought he did a copy-cat format of last week’s only with a different song. It’s getting predictable now. It wowed us the first time, but it’s time to bring on something new, as it’s not “unique” any more.

Did no one watch The Next Great American Band? I think what Rickey is trying to tell us is that The Dobro was played by Austin Clark one of the Brothers who won American Band! The Clark Brothers will be on Idol Gives Back and I CANNOT WAIT!

This guy is growing on me. He is showing us some of his range and inventiveness. I must say he is more exciting to watch than even Michael Johns.
