He’s doing well. I worry when crazy Simon guarantees that he’ll make the finals. I wish he would hold the big note then clip it instead of doing a Cher fade.

David – you are DISGUSTING ! I am so done with you !

Did he really think that talking about his boogers would endear him to us ?

He’ll surely make it through, but that song was too big for him. I wish he’d given us what we ALL want instead…a sexy striptease. I promise to be a very good boy:)

He’ll make it through. That was a good performance and most people don’t sit around searching the Internet for Idol scandals, so I can’t see that affecting him.

I am all for the girls this year but he does deserve a place in the top 12 although I don’t think he can last too long in the competition!

Having said that I thought he tackled that pretty well!

For the record, you should NEVER tell booger stories unless you’re hanging with drunk friends…and maybe not even then.

    Meatloaf did this originally?

    @ laff:
No. It was originally done by Pandora’s Box (according to Wikipedia), then made popular by Celine Dion, and finally sung by Meatloaf as a duet with some girl named Marion I think.

I loved it. He is one of my favorite guys in the competition this year.

Okay, at the very end of this song, listen, and you can hear Simon say, “Say, I like the way you strip to that.” I’m not kidding!

He did well tonight, but not great. However, not the strongest night for the men. He would still be in my top 4 for the night. I missed Simon’s comment, will have to go back and listen.

    Booger story = bad.

He was extra divaish tonight for sure.

The booger story was icky, but I thought he had some of the best vocals of the night. He’s not one of the more interesting characters or entertaining performers, but he’s got such a pure voice. It’s not all the time you hear a guy tackle a Celine Dion song.

He’s not my favorite, but I thought he song his pole-dancing booty off.

It’s a booger.. get over it people.. geeze. Act like it’s the worst thing in the world he could’ve talked about.
They were telling embarassing moments afterall…

Anyways… He was ok tonight. Had pitch problems alot but he’s still great.

I’d rather watch him strip. His singing is OK. It’s more suited to a piano bar.

Been fairly easy to get through for the last 40 minutes.

Frankly, I was more grossed out by the random dreadlock in a restaurant than the booger story.

I thought he sounded great. Gotta love the big, belted out notes. (Clay Aiken’s the ultimate king of those, though…)

I think Simon has an axe to grind with any contestant who sings Celine or Whitney. Come off it, Simon…it was still a good performance!

I gave David a vote or two. I think he’ll coast into the top 12 finals.

I love David! I don’t care if he has a past, everyone has skeletons, and I don’t think people would mind too much if his past returned =P. I want him to be in the Top 12, and def. the top 10 so he can be on tour!! This was def. a weak performance from him though, but still one of the better performances of the night.

I like David H, but I felt this performance was just “good.” There wasn’t any originality in his performance – or anything like that. This is your last chance to show american – I SHOULD BE IN THE FINAL 12 and you don’t do something amazing. STill want DH to make it though.

Meatloaf did sing this song first..not Pandora’s Box..then it was Celine Dion.

I hope David Hernandez makes to the top 5..he deserves it…His story didnt help though..about the booger…I still voted for him regardless.

Its been easy to get through on the phone lines thoug…is that a sign Rickey? I hope not..Ill still continue to vote for him.

    LOL at Simon’s comment!
Usually even minor pitch problems ruin a performance for me and this had a few weird pitchy moments but I still liked it! Totally agree with Randy or whichever judge said that he tends to overshoot his notes but I just love his voice!!
It doesn’t hurt that I enjoy watching him do his thing either…
