   Really cute rendition! I totally hope he wins.
   This is actually one of my all time favorite songs. As far as I know the original singer was male, but Christina Aguilera did a cover of the song on her Spanish album.
   I found it interesting that David followed her runs and nuances almost exactly… kinda makes me curious…

    hey rickey..i dont think this is the real version..it sounds like a slowed down version of the original…like its slowed down so he sounds like hes older…the real version is on jons dad’s youtube account

    Beautiful.

    Made for Latin night. I bet David WON’T be criticized if he sings his selection in mostly Spanish or all Spanish, unlike Sanjaya who was the ONLY contestant last season that performed his choice in mostly Spanish, yet garnered negative criticism from Simon.

    dickie – it’s extremely common to copy other singers’ styles when you’re very young; indeed, it’s one of the best ways to learn the tools of technique. It takes time and a certain maturity to start evolving you’re own unique approach.

    It will be interesting to see what David does with all the new material he’ll be presented with now that the whole world is so enthralled with his abilities. I really hope they skip the Disney/Nick phase and give him some decent, authentic stuff.

    Daisy..that is a picture of David now but the song is from when he was 12. His voice was higher then wasn’t it.I hope I could hear him sing something like this on Idol. Anyway..I bought his imagine song from itunes and when I played it loud on my stereo it gave me chills.

    laureldj, unfortunately it is the live version which includes the screaming girls and not the full studio recording. I felt it was still worth the 99 cents because it makes me happy when I hear him.

    Thanks for the clarification, ealbino ~ he looks 12 to me there, which is part of the reason why I wish he would have waited a couple years to try-out for AI. I just can’t take a contestant seriously who looks like they should be on American Juniors (if it still existed).

    Daisy – I know what you mean.. He looks like such a baby especially standing next to Michael Johns who is 28 or so. I don’t really care the age..I mean 17 now is so different now than back in the day..but his voice is still heavenly to me and his personality is endearing so I will continue to vote for him. If he didn’t have such a nice tone to his voice I wouldn’t buy his mp3s or take the time to vote though.

    Latin american Idol apesta de tanta mediocridad y
    mal gusto, Quizas porque se realiza en la Argentina. Desde ya esta Sony atormentando con
