I can’t believe the producers don’t know. And yes, he won’t win….they want a straight, “marriage-oriented” chick magnet. That’s what wins over the women, and women make up the most audience.

Ah-hah, at vftw they show the download popularity and it seems that Jason and David are the most popular. That’s why they wanted the downloads up so early…so the producers could figure out how to kick off the most unpopular sellers….bummer! That AI is so terrible!!!

Seriously, though, David is not the only gay Idol this year (or, in fact, the only gay David). As I stated in my Report Card: this is AmeriGay Idol! The gayest since season 1. And great for that!

Also, Snuffles, I wouldn’t necessarily call this ‘OUTing’. OUTing involves revealing a CLOSET CASE’s gayness (like Clay). David never really hid his sexuality.

And oOo, I wouldn’t let the marriage bands convince you either…at least one married Idol this year is a bonafied toe-tapper.

We gay men, and I’m sure Rickey and Richie could tell you, just know that!

it has never mattered to me if a musician or an actor is gay. what matters is do i enjoy what they do. it’s not like i get to sleep with them if they are staight! i don’t think this will hurt him any.

AZIdol: It’s not what YOU like, it’s what is marketable and GAY is not marketable on the same scale as a Kelly or Carrie. AI is about marketability and making records and making stars. I predict no man will win this, it will be a woman.

I had heard about David H from another site I visit that talks about broadway. One of he posters there claimed he was his lover for a while. I personally don’t care who’s gay or not..if I like them, I’ll vote. I hope he’s not the next one out.

I could care less if the man is gay. I enjoy his singing and that’s all that matters

However… we all know what our country it like and all of the very ignorant people that live in it.

Just take a look at Danny. People have a problem b/c he acts too femme or whatever. It’s pretty ridiculous, sad, and pathetic

WHO FREAKIN’ CARES!!!!!

If David performs and sings good enough to win…then he will win. If he chooses to focus more on who he sleeps with…then his focus will have shifted and his a$$ needs to be voted off. Not because he’s gay or not…but because it’s no longer about singing and becoming the next American Idol!!

As a straight man…what I find more offensive is this seemingly rush by the gay community to “out him” (that is if he’s even in the closet)…or make it relevent. This is the entertainment business…and at this point in time…most people gay, straight, or other knows that gay people are everywhere. SO F’ING WHAT! I want an entertainer to do just that…entertainmen me with the God given (or “given” talents for the atheist and agnostics out there)

I don’t need you to shove your agenda down my un-wanting to know or care about throat. I’m not tuning in to find out who you’re sleeping with or been romatically linked to…just F’ing SING D’mit.

If I offended anyone that is gay here…I’m sorry you’re offended…and I honestly do not take some of what you say lightly. I know that there are those that do and will hold something like that against him…but really…most of those people are not watching AI7. If we can have a woman and a Black man soon be the Democratic Party’s nominee to run for the office of president…a gay American Idol has got to pale in comparison.

Or am I just that unique in feeling that his sexuality isn’t that important. I’m more offended that other people are reporting on something he does in his private life…that shouldn’t mean a hill of beans to me or anyone else.

Geez, the irony in this post is…David H was not one of my favorites from the first time I heard him sing on Hollywood week…and have written in so much…but here I am defending him to a degree over rumors of what his sexual preferance is!

He’s my 2nd fave, and I don’t care what his sexuality is. He’s an awesome singer, so I’ll be voting for him. My favorite singer of all time is gay, and I love him, so whoopdeedoo. Good Luck David!!!

I don’t think there’s anyone more out there than Danny…… And he is way better than David….. And there was a really good guy during auditions too who was very openly gay and said something like my mom raised a queen it just wasn’t a girl….. they didn’t edit that…. i’m sure they’re okay with it……

Wow, I gotta say I didn’t see that coming. I don’t see why it’s such a big deal though, he can sing, and that’s all I care about. Let’s not forget that EVERYONE knew Clay was gay on the show, but he was STILL one of their most popular contestants.

I wouldn’t call David A gay. Gays are people who know their sexuality and act upon it (whether having had sex w/ ppl of the same gender or actively fantasizing about it).

We don’t know if David A does any of the above yet. So I wouldn’t call him gay. He might be a homosexual at heart somewhere. But he seems a bit too sheltered to realize it just yet.

He has a HUGE chance to win AI this year. IF he doesn’t come out publicly. And if he is already out to himself, he can play that “I’m too young and I only care about singing right now” card.

I don’t believe David H is gay and neither David A. David A is still a little boy so whoever said that he’s gay may be confused between that stage of between boy & man. I might believe that Danny and Sanjaya are gay but again, they’re still young, so they haven’t shown the look of a man yet. As for Danny, even though he looks more on a feminine side than Sanjaya, he might not be gay as most people thought he is.

Johncarrie, there’s no two sides of the story when it comes to Danny – that guy is as gay as you can be. Judging from pictures and comments on the internet, so is David H. However, by David A., there is no proof except his feminimity, which is definitely not proof you can nail him down with. Plus, he’s Mormon, so even if he is he ain’t coming out any time soon.

I am gay. You know if you are gay or not at a very young age… surely by age 11 or 12 you know who is catching your eye. Straights know who catches their eye by this age, too.

I am sure that David Archuleta is gay – he sounds exactly like I did at that age and the nervous laughter is always there when you have to hide who you are 100% of the time lest you risk losing your family’s love. Since he is growing up in a homophobic world, he must convince himself it is not so and deny it if anyone dares to ask. But lack of sexual experience does not mean you are not attracted to the same sex. It is unchangeable and permanent. Usually by your 20’s you realize this, and are independent enough in life to come out. That is the ONLY reason so few gay teens come out. It is not because they don’t know.
