No, Rickey, I believe it was a live performance, and it was a surprisingly good one. I was not sold on him before now, but thought that was very good.

In that photo he looks like a pudgy, out-of-shape version of Mark McGrath from Sugar Ray. Which is ironic because he’s probably about 15 years younger.

No kidding about grooming the new Daughtry. He even had the mic stand!! Alice in Chains, Randy? Really?

Oh well. I love Daughtry, and I like this guy, and I want to see him sing more Bon Jovi.

Whoa!! How are you getting these up so quickly?

I didn’t like it as much as the judges. I thought there were some pretty rough spots, but he got it together at the end. Far from my favorite guy.

Why did they talk to Colton before David sang? Trying to make up for the fact that he didn’t have face time during Hollywood?

Give it up and shave your head already. Your hairstyle doesn’t hide the fact that your hair is saying goodbye. An annoying performance overall, and I hate to say that about a fellow Missourian. Kinda creepy. I can already picture him as a tubby, balding pedophile.

I liked him, personally. It’s kind of strange…he kind of looks like the guitarist from La Ley (a Latin Rock band that I love)…maybe that’s why I like him!

He was good, but I don’t believe as good as Randy and Paula tried to make it. It was pitchy in the beginning. I think that he will definitely be a judge favorite, and I DO love the tone of his voice, so I’m sure after he gets through this week he’ll pull out some amazing performances =).

Amber, I’m with you!! There is definitely something of Constantine in his smile at times. Also, look at the Con-ish swagger when he pulls the mic off its stand and takes a couple of steps back. right?

The difference is – Constantine had that fun mix of insecurity and overconfidence, which battled it out onstage. This guy is just straight cocky/confident. It cancels out the dumb hairdo.

i think his hair has character, but i wasn’t so into the flat-ironing he did last night.

the mic twirling was over the top. the way he used the stage definitely reminded me of con laff, but we didn’t get any kicks at the camera.

he’s like a less sexy less theatrical con.

Loved his performance~! MUCH better than Constantine, in my opinion. First performer last night that made me glad I was watching. And I don’t see the big deal about the hair thing. I think he’s current, likable, and hopefully in the top 10! Would be fun to see him on the tour!!!

He has his own brand of sexiness, amber. A little doughy and pasty, but the smug, slow-blinking kind of solemn “I’m above this” attitude gives him a sexy-ish air.

The hair is hideous, though. Nothing can be done about that. Luscious locks is just too much to ask for with this one.

I really liked his performance. I don’t get the comparison between him and Con at all. I just don’t see it. And I liked his hair better during Hollywood Week, but this isn’t THAT bad.

I hope he’s in the top 10!

Where are you getting the overconfidence from? He looked so nervous before and after the performance. In his Hollywood audition, he looked terrified. The only time he looks comfortable is when he’s on stage.

I don’t think he physically looks like Con, but I can see the mannerisms. The coy smile and the way he was sitting backstage. I can see it. I dig it.

DJ Ryce, I didn’t notice any terrified look on him. I also don’t think he’s OVERconfident, just self-assured … very comfortable with what he’s got. And he comes off as a teeny bit arrogant. It’s good.

I *might* like him better than the pretty boy, Michael Johns. We’ll see.

I’m diggin’ this guy big time. As I said in another “room” (hey, remember that, Amber and laff?), this is the first time I’ve watched this season, so I can’t go on anything but what I saw last night. And what I saw I absolutely loved. It seemed like he might BUST OUT at a moment’s notice and do something ever so slightly twisted and crazy.

I like his little sidelong mini-flirt with the camera. It’s like, “Yeah? You think so?”

Yes, David. I think so! YES!
