I didn’t think this was his best performance, but he’s fortunate that people have seen his audition and Hollywood week. I certainly didn’t agree with Simon that it was horrible, but I did think that he kept it safe.

His double-snap at Simon at the end was hilarious!! Simon couldn’t keep from ginning. Now that’s the way to take horrible criticism from Simon and make it work for you in likability points. Jacuzzi, were you watching?

Ok, I thought they were singing songs from the 60’s. I didnt think this song was from the 60’s and it isnt. “Jailhouse Rock” is a song written by Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller that first became a hit for Elvis Presley. The song was first released as a 45rpm single on September 24, 1957, to coincide with the release of Presley’s motion picture, Jailhouse Rock. So why was he allowed to choose this?

THE ONLY PROBLEM with Danny’s performance is that he chose a song in which he could NOT showcase his vocal abilities. Was it bad? Yes, but that’s the only reason. DANNY DANNY DANNY… Please choose songs that showcase the fact that you CAN SING! The best thing about Danny is he goes from “talking so queeny” to “singing so butch”. LOVE DANNY!

BUT! If David A. doesn’t win, I’m gonna be SHOCKED! They already started PIMPING HIM!

First of all, no more comparisons to Sanjaya!

Sanjaya wouldn’t have been able to pull that song off any better than Danny.

Besides, as someone mentioned, Simon likes Danny. Not so much Sanjaya.

I was disappointed in the song choice. It didn’t show off his voice very well at all.

But man does he know how to work the crowd!

As for the person who mentioned that the song was from the wrong decade. Don’t get mad at Danny for choosing it, get mad at Nigel for putting it on the list.

Okay, so this is my first night of watching this show this season. I don’t know anything this kid has done before tonight, and I don’t really care. I don’t care if he sang like angels trained by Ella Fitzgerald before. I don’t care if he was charming before. I don’t care if he rollerskated out on stage while wearing a hula skirt and brandishing fiery bowling pins and eating a bowl of spaghetti carbonara. All I noticed tonight was a pouty little brat who, when criticized, chose to poof out his lower lip like a five year old and to point out his stupid boots — like that should make up for a woefully subpar performance. Please.

He is the anti-David Arlucheta.

Ugh, I expected an amazing performance from this kid! His Rendition of “When I Need You” was so amazing, and I wanted to hear his vocals soar. I don’t want him to go home, but I know quite a few people who don’t start watching until his round, and based on that I would have voted him off. I hope he stays…

LOL! I figured Danny would be entertaining!

I was surprised at this song choice but figured Danny wanted to change his repertoire up a little. I didn’t enjoy the JailHouse Rock performance, but it doesn’t matter because I have heard his early auditions & he has singing talent.

However, I agree with Jodi above regarding the 1st time watching the show. If this 1 performance was what I would base my vote or non-vote on, Danny would be on the verge of *outta there*! Luckily, many of us have seen the preliminaries including Hollywood week auditions.

I think that he has a huge career ahead of him, regardless of his success on this program. That said, I would be very disappointed if he wasn’t around a long time this season. He is extremely talented and entertaining!

ok..I have to agree with Simon. During heis singing, I feel tired. Why ? Because I feel he sang the song so fast like he was in some kind in a race. It make peoples who listen to him feel tired. Just my opinion though

His comment when the criticism got hot that “SOMEbody didn’t like it!” was great. It made Simon grin…he couldn’t help it. Performance, song choice, attitude aside, that’s the way to handle a tough moment.

Hope i dont have to suffer thru an entire season with this twit.. many more deserving contestants on this show , and this young man is an undeserving ingrate, there is funny , there is sarcasm , and then there is danny.U came off like a spoiled rotten little brat with no talent and it would be an injustice if u make it thru past this round of voting.Vote for the voice ppl , not for the sanjaya’s of american idol.Attitude doesnt sell records.. voices do , and really asides from the TV guide channel what is sanjaya’s claim to fame since idol?

If we’re going to be doing 2 snaps etc, etc…we needed Blane Edwards, Antoine Merriweather, and RuPaul as judges last night…to give us their infamous critiques….which I think we would have heard last night…***HATED IT!*** .

Danny, Danny, Danny…as Paula stated, you have a great voice…and you did NOT showcase that at all last night. I found the performance rushed…with you being not quite in beat with the rhythm (and no one mentioned that).

If you make it past the elimination…you need to chose more wisely or you’ll be gone, baby, gone! {SNAP SNAP}

I liked Danny’s earlier performances (auditions & Hollywood week), but thought this performance was THE PITTS! I also despised his sassy, pissy, little attitude. If he hangs around, I hope he loses some of that… I fear he may become this season’s Sanjaya, and LORD KNOWS, WE DO NOT NEED ANOTHER ONE OF THOSE!!!!

I agree with Spriggzoid, that Danny’s “SOME judges weren’t LIKIN’ it” comment was hilarious and it was good that it made Simon laugh.

I wish Danny would quit making odd faces so much, though. That is going to kill him if it continues.

Danny is only one of 3 gay contestants in the Top 12 Men, I do believe. I hope these contestants don’t start getting Simon’s insulting “cabaret” and “put on a dress” comments.

i love how people are still talking about sanjaya. his claim to fame? haters who can’t stop talking about him for one. some of you need to check out the convo he had with rickey so you’re all caught up.

as for danny, i didn’t like the performance. didn’t like him sulking as ryan was talking, but LOVED the backtalk he gave. after last year’s cruelty, i think each contestant should line up and put each of the judges in their place, lol.

He should grow up a bit, but he’s funny to watch. This season, I’ve noticed it has more gay people than past seasons. It would be sad with Paula and Simon keep on making indirect jokes to the kids (since the ones that seem gay are the younger ones, not saying they all are, but I think Danny may be). Where did the colors part come in with Paula?? It was so random.

Jailhouse Rock if a really hard song to sing – check out others trying to sing it and you’ll prob. agree.

That aside , I agree it was not the best song choice for a powerhouse voice like Danny but he gave it his all and I think he will stay on.

I love Danny – his audition alone showed us that he is amazing . Why he did not choose a Motown song is beyond me – he would have rocked it out !
