David Hernandez American Idol

David Hernandez competed on Arizona Idol but he did not win. I’m glad that American Idol finally showcased him. I have some video clips of him on Arizona Idol after the jump.

I like David Hernandez, even if you know, he’s generic. Hopefully he will do better than the other “latino balladeers” who have graced the Idol stage. What do you guys think?

I really didn’t care for the initial audition – maybe the cheesy finger-snapping was the problem. The Hollywood audition was great, great, great though! (Although Paula’s reaction was grating.) So, did I miss something or have we STILL not seen 5 of the rumored top 12 guys?

I agree about the first audition – I did not enjoy it. He was very pleasant to listen to during the hollywood audition though. He didn’t blow me away or anything but I wouldn’t mind listening some more of his singing.

I didn’t really like his audition either, but he really blew me away during his Hollywood audition.

First audition was good but didn’t blow me away.
He DID blow me away in Hollywood! He has one of the best voices on the male side and will go far, I hope. He’s got the look, the voice, let’s just hope he can sing all the crazy songs for the “theme” weeks. lol

Listening to him singing BRIDGE is PAINFUL. Clay, Clay, Clay. Please sing this right now to erase the noise in my ears.

His HOLLYWOOD singing was his best. Let’s hope there is more of this to come.

David Hernandez is the hottest of all the contestants physically, and his voice is capable of great things. BUT. He oversings everything. If he would just relax and let the SONG be the star, instead of trying to show off his vocal gymnastics, he would be great.

I hate to see him not succeed. He seems like a very nice young man and he HAS the talent and looks. I pray he will stop doing all the fancy schmancy bullshit stuff and just sing SIMPLE renditions of good songs. THEN he will be unstoppable.
