Brooke White American Idol Audition

Brooke White auditions in Philadelphia for American Idol 7. She was the last to audition (just right after that Star Wars chick Christina Tolisano). Brooke White’s claim to fame: she’s never watched a Rated-R film. Yeah, right. That’s the most interesting thing about her? Oh well. Very cookie-cutter, but they let Brooke White close the premiere, so there must be something there.

Brooke White’s MySpace. She has 13,000 friends! I’m too tired to do more research, but it looks like she’s released an album before like Kristy Lee Cook.

Another unsigned ‘professional’ eh?

I liked her audition and thought she was genuine and seemed nice and fairly normal. The fact that she’s never seen a rated R movie really isn’t that big of a deal. Lots of adults haven’t. I was probably in my mid 20s before I saw my first rated R movie.

The songs on her page are pretty good actually. Ace Young is better on Dream On though!!

As much as I don’t really like that fact that semi-pros are allowed on Idol, maybe it will help her (and others) to figure out their styles and be what we are looking for more so they DO get signed.

I love it when Randy said “there is something pure about you” and Paula said “Well I should hope so.” I absolutely loved her interactions with the twins. They are very cute.

Also, on a side note, I see they have switched which door remains locked. Which throws those off who were watching last year and saying to themselves “When I try out I’m going to remember not to look like a fool while trying to open the left door.”

I liked her well enough. She had a lovely, controlled voice, but when I hear that someone has 13,000 MySpace friends, it kind of takes away some of the joy of finding a “diamond in the rough.”

By the way, I was NOT going to watch this season. My husband forced me, by turning on the TV. We have only a small abode, so, I caught some of it, merely 2nd half. Dang him huh?

Is she supposed to fill the “pure” (“Kella-marie.. What’s that?) spot. Carrie Underwood had it her year as well (and her Hollywood “stars” schpiel).

Stereotyping is alive and well on AI 7.

She has problems with her lower register but she’s a good singer. I actually think most of the people they picked in Philly were just average, good singers but nothing unique. I like the guy who sang the Maroon Five song as he is the only one that had something special about his voice, IMO. Looks like were in for another season of the status quo.

Oh, stop poo-pooing the whole season. We’ve only seen a handful of singers and they’ve only sang for about 30 seconds each. The doom’s day prophets that say AI is going down-hill should just shut off the TV and let the rest of us enjoy the show.

For those interested in seeing a live performance of Brooke, there’s a video of her performing at the Keyclub in Hollywood last summer posted on youtube. She competed in a radio contest in which out of the 5 finalists that played, she was the fans favorite. Even though she didn’t win, her reception received much enthusiasm.
