Chris Daughtry — Home — American Music Awards

Daughtry closes out the 2007 American Music Awards with an acoustic performance of “Home” — the walk of shame song played on Season 6 of American Idol, and a song Chris Daughtry composed on a couch before he left his family for American Idol.

Daughty won Breakthrough Artist, Adult Contemporary and Pop/Rock Album
Carrie Underwood won Country Female, T-Mobile Text-In award and Country Album
Fantasia Barrino did not win

Helio Castroneves

Kellie Pickle was a presenter. Helio Castroneves, Mel B. and Jennie Garth introduced Chris Brown. Jordin Sparks introduced the Jonas Brothers.

Man, he is so amazing. I love when this song is performed live. I’m so proud of Chris and his band!

Thanks for the clip! Yay for Daughtry and Carrie! I have loved this song from the very first listen – and have always felt it was the best counter-argument for those who say all the songs on the CD sound the same…

The sheer talent of Daughtry never ceases to amaze me, nice touch with the all female string players and their Celtic hair look. I hope he wins a fist full Grammies too, either way, can’t wait until his next album.

I saw Daughtry live last Thursday night – 2nd row…. it was one of the best concerts I’ve ever been to. He was simply amazing, and one thing I loved was that it was clean – that might not matter to a lot of people, but it didn’t go unnoticed by me. It’s so cool to see such a talented performer appeal to so many different kinds of people – and all ages, as well. He simply has it all and “adoring” is what our local paper said to describe his fans — and I think that pretty much states it correctly.

Daughtry was awesome! That was a great acoustic version of Home. Congrats to them on all of their awards!
