two unremarkable performances in a row. what’s happening to jordis? i hope next week she pulls another TMWSTW-like performance. she’s really good but these past two weeks she’s not in top shape. she’s good but i am almost sure that INXS won’t choose a female for a vocalist, which is sad. (though, i’d love either marty or mig to win, if not one from them, jordis is ok with me.)

Yeah, I was completely awestruck by Jordis after TMWSTW. I was telling everyone, bank tellers, snooty Starbucks people, grocery clerks (etc) to watch the show to see her. I think that song broke her. She just doesn’t work as well anymore. I hate to say it but maybe she got wind of all the TMWSTW praise she was getting and it went to her head. Jordis, if you can hear me, please get the passion back and give 100%!!

What are you people talking about? This song was emotional! She made it her own (without denigrating it as she did with Layla) and her voice is memorable. Were you watching the same show?

Come on people, go back and watch the video. Emotion can be revealed in understated and subtle ways, too. Just because she doesn’t employ the “hand beating the chest” move as many of the other lesser performers did, doesn’t mean she can’t feel a song. What more would like from a performance? Let’s see: great, unique voice? Check. Beautiful interpretation? Check. Beautiful appearance (let’s not kid ourselves, it matters)? Check. You can tell she did well by the look on JD’s smug face and my the mesmerized look of Gary Beers.

i agree, this was not her best but much better than the week before. it saddens me to no end, inxs would never pick a female lead. i have been a fan since grade school and would love to see the band go in a new direction. jordis would be a great asset for the band. lets hope, by a small miracle they choose jordis!!!!

Ok, Nerina, I did go back and watch KOHD (KKKOHD?) again, and it IS better than i thought it was. It’s just that after TMWSTW had me in tears (won’t admit it to my biker buddies!), I have raised my expectation bar for Jordis miles high. (Miles!) All of her performances up to TMWSTW were stellar. I want to be moved again by her. That’s all. Is that so much to ask?

Has anybody given any thought to 2 (two) winners? Jordis and Marty or Mig. Jordis could solo on some songs, Marty/Mig on others, and the two could collaborate on others. (Either combination could be awesome).
It would be different, potentially spectacular, and if it didn’t work out , it’s only for a year, right?
It would also save INXS from the stigma of not hiring the “chick”.
Let’s hear about this.

Eva, I like the idea of a male and female lead. You’re right, it is a short-term deal and I think there is great potential in that format. HMMM.

Road King, I was blown away by MWSTW too, and I must admit the performance bar was really raised for Jordis (and everyone else). Honestly, I don’t know if she has another MWSTW in her. Let’s hope. I guess of all the women she’s my fave. Well, she’s my fave overall, but as others have pointed out, it’s hard to tell if Jordis even likes INXS music. I wish they were all doing INXS songs NOW.

You’re absolutely right. The male and female lead concept would be awesome — may be strange, but the image that first came to my mind of a band with the powerful vocals of a Jordis and Mig (or Marty) duo was Jefferson Airplane. I have to admit I’ve never been an Inxs fan, but any band that would have that kind of talent would get my attention.

My favorite performance of jordis’s is “Knockin On Heaven’s Door.” Maybe it’s because I like that song more than The Man Who Sold the World. Definitely not a disappointment for me!

Jordis kicks ass! my favorite performance of hers was Imagine. it made me cry and i never cry. well i did w/ MWSTW, but that was just exceptional. I LOVED imagine…Dave was crying from it and one of them said he was fighting not to cry. I cant believe she was in the bottom 3 after that. i dont think she should even win, i think she is WAY to good for them, bc listening to there music now, since i was like 2 when they were around, its not that great, they have a couple of good songs, but Jordis deserves better than them, IMO (in my opinion)

jordis, i just wanna say that you are a very very talented singer….. fa real, i love your voice and da first time i saw you singing dylan’s song, it was mesmerizing, i’ll never forget it and you’ll never be forgotten for it. anyway, i also wanted to say u make us polynesian’s esp tongans feel proud and that’s something big!! i didn’t think there were any other tongan girls who liked rock music, but that was just ignorant of me. anyway, keep blowing us away because honestly if for some reason u don’t get picked, i can already see u winning a grammy! GO JORDIS, YOU ROCK!

I think Jordis does better with Ballads than trying to belt out a rock song. She doesn’t have the maturity in her pipes yet to do it well like Deanna & Susie can. And if she doesn’t quit smoking and working in those smoky bars, she never will. It’ll ruin your vocal cords Jordis. Watching Jordis with her outfits and ballads reminds me of watching Stevie Nicks……

I think Jordis is terrific. I voted for her every week for hours. I’m really going to miss her in the competition but I understand her reason’s for leaving. You go Girl!
