I didn’t like that at all either, actually. Expected a lot more from her after last week, which was really good. This was a really intense song and she just smiled and swayed through it. . .

I am crushed. Excellence lasts only week to week at this point girl!! You KNEW what song you were singing!! Whats is with the dopey outfit!?! You could have better pulled that dress off LAST week for MWSTW.
I want to sit down, cry, and wonder what this crazy world is all about.
My only consolation is that she will pull out all the stops next week like make up sex.

Amazing. I knew she’d catch alot of slack for this one, but I thought she was great. Outfit, not the best, but her song choice was great. Just because she didn’t belt it out doesn’t make it a flop. Let’s not forget, as Dave said it’s not about the notes, it’s about the magnetism. She’s got it. This isn’t Idol. She doesn’t need to hold a high C over A for twelve seconds to be spectacular.

It was DISCO Layla and completely out of sync with Jordis and her style. Not an ounce of raw passion. Where did the girl go this week? Do they deliberately throw people up and down? Did they make her have a bad/off week to build tension after last week’s Bowie high? Didn’t you just KNOW “NO WOMAN NO CHILD” was going to smoke after last week’s disaster? This is not a contest. It’s just another soap opera, with the cliffhangers built in for audience-pleasure.

Ok. A fair night’s sleep yielded a thought…
After last week’s high, maybe the boyfriend brought news of a fantastic recording deal for her band (or just her alone) that was so much better than the INXS deal, that she is trying to deliberately blow it. After last week’ performance, I would have bought a CD of Jordis singing “The Best of Ricky Martin”. Right now…… not so much. I feel like she flipped us off last night.

Even if she doesn’t want to win anymore, every performance should still leave us wanting more.

Okay, Jordis fans, don’t lose hope. Yes, she had an off night – no doubt. But she is only 23 years old and I think what we saw was youth and inexperience. Now INXS may not be willing to gamble on youth, but she is still one of the best ones up there. I expect she will seriously overhaul her performance next week. She seemed pretty disappointed with herself afterwards. And I do think she set a really high bar last week with MWSTW.

Even though I really like her, I’m still not sure she is the right “fit” for INXS. Now if they are trying to take the band in a new direction she might be just what they want (think of the target audience), but if they want to go off into retirement shortly (and let’s hope they don’t become the Rolling Stones) then maybe an older rocker might be better. Either way, I think we’ll hear from her in the future.

Coming from down under, not just any old person will do for my beloved INXS. But if a new direction is what they want – Jordis is the chick for me. I am totally obsessed with TMWSTW – I find myself singing it (very badly I might add) all the time. Originally I thought JD might be the man, but I’ve now come to the conclusion he is a complete a-hole. Wouldn’t last 5 minutes on an aussie stage. INXS toughed it out and earned their stripes in the loud, hot, aussie bars & rugby clubs with audiences that are very hard to please. I’m sure the guys from INXS will make the right choice in the end. But if Jordis misses out, Marty would be my second choice – as long as he gets a decent haircut!
