Rickey! How you make these videos with very good sound quality? You have one hell of a camera. Chris Richardson looks great on stage. Sanjaya lacks the filled out body of Chris R and Chris R lacks the incredible hair lol. Sanjaya can fill out but I am not sure how it would work if Chris grows his hair longer. I also like Chris’ singing. I actually like all of them in singing. People really gave a hard time to Chris’ for nasal singing and especially for his comment about nasal singing being a form of singing. I agree with him… it has to be accepted as a form of singing when so many singers are successful with nasal voices (Example: Rascal Flatts lead singer himself) Who defines what is the right form of singing? It is all subjective. People just use their half baked knowledge in music. “The very first lesson they tell you in singing is not to sing nasally” this is what many say. Of course, if you dont have a trained voice, nasal singing can be pathetic and annoying. But some people have a very nice nasal tone which is actually enjoyable and Chris is one of them. Ok enough of my rant lol.

Wow, I love the arrangement of this, and Chris does a great job. Admittedly, he’s my least favorite Idol, but he sounds good here. Thanks for giving me another perspective, Rickey! JohnDoe, yeah, I’m one of those who doesn’t care for the nasal tone, but it’s because it’s usually associated with country-ish twang. I do not like country music at all (it was secretly satisfying to me that Sanjaya’s downfall was on country night, because I had a feeling he didn’t like country much, either).

Well, I love country (hahaha)! I think Chris R is a fine man! IMO better looking than Blake! I don’t mind nasal singing, just don’t sing the whole song that way! While I love his style, I can listen to Chris R only for so long.

YAY!!!! Thanks for the video clip and the recent support of Chris R … everyone who knew him all along spoke about what a genuinely nice person he was. AND I LOVE his voice and style of singing … could listen to him all day. He was hot with Melinda and Lakisha!!!!!! And looking good as always.

YIPPEEE! A thread that is other than Sanjaya! Even though Chris was not a fav of mine at all during Idol 6…it’s refreshing to have a clip of the other idols BESIDES Sanjaya

It’s been really disappointing to check in here and its all Sanjaya all the time. I started limiting coming here because of the limited subject.

Can’t wait til the new TV season begins…whether it be Heroes, Amer Idol 7, Prison Break…or WHATEVER! Anything to break the Malakar monotony and the lame Amer Idol “wannabe” shows like “Dance”, “Talent”, “Inventor”…yada, yada, yada!

For those of you who are big fans of Sanjaya…I’m sure this summer has been heaven…but for those of us who couldn’t care less or don’t particularly care for him…it’s been true HELL!

Chicago 48…I don’t know how you hang in there…I’d only come here to check up on your resolve against the onslaught!

Heavyblow, the song is not all about Chris Rich. The whole thing actually starts off with Melinda/Lakisha doing a Supremes medley, then they segue into “I Heard it Through the Grapevine”, and about halfway through, Chris comes out to do his part. The song continues with the girls “fighting” over him while they all sing together. It’s actually a very cute medley and very well done.

Chris holds his own quite well with them, which is what actually converted me to a Chris Rich fan. I wasn’t one during the season AT ALL, but the fact that he could come out there with the two true DIVAS of the season and not only sing, but sing WELL, well that was enough for me.

Rickey, I totally agree with you – Chris is such a sweetheart, and very accomodating and genuine. And yes… very, very hot. Yikes! I think he’s converting a lot of people on this tour. I know that I at least am very interested to see his work after the tour and his time with AI are both over. And if anyone told me 2 months ago that I’d be saying this now, I’d have laughed in their face.

I guess you’re absolutely correct…the only way to get away from you Crackjayas is to NOT come to Rickeys blog at all…and God forbid if anyone says anything about Sanjaya (even in another thread) that doesn’t meet the standards and practices of the Sensorjayas!

First, I didn’t say ANYTHING negative about him. My comments inferred that it was refreshing to see a video clip of one of the other idols.

And I DO limit coming here now because the main focus has been limited to one particular Amer Idol alum…it’s mentioned in the 2nd paragraph of my orig post. And when I DO come here to see what is topical and deal with other subjects…like this one about Chris…I may make a comment. But somehow I still have to withstand an assault from a Fanjaya! Why

In spite of the Attackjayas that want to run off anyone and everyone that is NOT a Sanjaya fan…I hope you realize that my comments were only a reflection of how I miss the once more diversified AI alum videos and other news etc. For instance, I have not really seen many other videos of this years Tour here unless Sanjaya was the focus. I’ve heard mention that Blake, or Lakisha got a standing ovation etc…but no video of their performances have been linked to…unless Sanjaya was in it. That’s all I was saying…it was good to see Chris, Melinda, & Lakisha…without haveing to wade thru YouTube to see some of the Idols. Plus Rickey ALWAYS have great video AND sound.

It just goes to show the dominance of this young guy over fans & non-fans. It seems there was a preoccupation to insult Sanjaya once again. You like Chris? Show your love!

I personally don’t have a problem with what Feaqs said … he/she was merely expressing his opinion that it was nice to see some diversity in the site. Okay, it is Rickey’s site, but does that mean others cannot voice their opinion? That = censorship to me.
What’s much more annoying to me is that people come to Chris R thread just to insult him and whine about not having Blake performances.

Aprylette…since you’re not a Chris fan…why are you here? The same sentiment that you stated in your original post…if you don’t like whats being said here then go back to your Sanjaya posts.

I can’t wrap my head around how you extropolate a reference to Sanjaya as an insult…or that the universe revolves around him based on his name being typed in a thread.

Although I know that this explanation will be a waste…perhaps others can see how someone like yourself has no objectivity on this subject. First, I’m not really a Chris R fan (szjodic can attest to that in some past threads while the season was still going on)…in fact…if I insulted anyone…it WAS Chris R. I actually wrote that he was NOT a fav of mine…but that it was “refreshing” just to see a clip of one of the other idols.

Again, In my first post, I did NOT make an insult towards Sanjaya. I only stated that it was good to see something OTHER than him. How you can turn that phrase and intent into an insult…well.

Now on the other hand, you…obviously a Sanjaya fan…come out of the gate with an INSULT towards Chris…and until now, no one has mentioned it or ATTACKED you for coming into a thread about another idol and “dissing” him. I believe you wrote:

Now if someone had written an INSULT like that in a Sanjaya thread…there would be all HELL to pay for that person!

I don’t know how you turn a statement stating that its good to see something other than Sanjaya in a clip…to that it proves his “dominance” over fans & non fans…and I really don’t understand how you see that as an insult…but your statement that you “can’t stand to listen” to Chris R as not being an insult…GEESH!

I’ll confess, I did throw insults at Sanjaya’s rabid and unobjective fans (and that’s only after you made an off-hand comment)…but I did not insult Sanjaya…I have not inferred or stated anything negative about his abilities, stage presence, voice, etc….it’s ALL in YOUR head just because I mention that it was good to see a video clip of someone besides him.

And I stand by that statement..there are 9 other people on the tour…and I have NOT seen many of the other Idols represented unless Sanjaya was in them. Feaqs: I don’t know where to begin! Let’s see. Well, there have been insults against Sanjaya relayed on Sanjaya threads that either gently or harshly bashed his talent. The originators of the comments are usually engaged in a dialog to support why they feel so strongly against Sanjaya. Sure, we Fanjayas attempt to encourage the bashers to then give him a chance. Listen to his MP3s & tour vids. We don’t send them out the door, feaqs. You’d see that if you read into some past threads a little closer.

Regarding criticism, sometimes it’s all in the delivery. My comment regarding Chris R was brief/to the point & did not set out to deride any other idol or that idols’ fanbase.

“Sanjayas rabid & unobjective fans”. Think about that statement for a moment when you reflect later on the time spent here in Chris’ thread dominated once again by the Sanjaya allure.
I can be objective, feaqs, but don’t quite understand why you are so upset!

But yes, this is the Universe Of Sanjaya & I’m just in it.

Just to clarify the air a little bit… a lot of this is force of habit and “availability”. I would love to post about everyone, except that I am only one man and I cannot keep up very well as it stands. I think it seems that it has been Sanjaya all the time this summer because there is a Torch Relay that the Fanjayas are doing this year: there is always something about Sanjaya because the Fanjayas are reporting about every single concert this summer. There might be a Blaker Girl torch relay too I don’t know.

At any rate, So You Think You Can Dance is not second-rate. rickey.org is one of the most popular sites for SYTYCD fans for 3 years in a row now. Come fall, the “silent” Dancing with the Stars fans will come visit.

The change this year is that aside from the Con Con Girls (who sadly have gone tired of commenting) and the Ace Young peeps (still going strong), the “Rickeyjayas” have also made rickey.org their clubhouse so it looks like the blog is being swarmed by Fanjayas. I’m going to put up a forum once I resolve my computer crash issues.

Regarding the Sanjaya-centric videos: well I was the torch bearer for Portland so I was thinking of Sanjaya. I didn’t want to record Blake’s performance because I didn’t want to spoil the highlight of the show — you can find that video maybe on YouTube. The next time I watch the show I will record more stuff other than Sanjaya now I know where the juicy stuff are.

Hopefully this brings back peace in Rickeyland. Cheers!

OMG…just like I thought would happen…un FREAKIN BELEIVABLE how some here can turn something completely upside down to support their distorted reality.

There’s no reason to even begin to explain one’s point of view…because your distored view will find away to support your incorrect ascerains.

I simple comment about its good to see videos of other AI contestant has been re-invented as:
1. insults about Sanjaya
2. insults about Rickey

You fail to see that any slam to Sanjaya’s fans only occured after Aprylette’s first attack in post #8. But I see that someone is so busy kissin her … that there was no mention of that.

And my comments to Chicago-48 came true (go figure). Something stated that had Sanjaya’s name in it…but wasn’t considered high praise by the Sensorjayas…got turned around to “OBVIOUSLY” mean that I was a Sanjaya hater…thusly criticized and sent to the banish list.

Sweetbee & Aprylette…why not just send me your email address so that if your efforts to get me banned from the site aren’t successful…I could FIRST, email you a draft, then let you make any corrections and remove anything you find offensive…you know…like following along with the “correct” script…it would be more palatable for those that feel the way you do. It sure would make it easier to navigate the psychotic mind field some of you all have turned this site into. (Hahaha…I’m sure you’ll turn that last statement into a slam against Rickey as well…when it truly is not.)

Its just you loonies that make this site somewhat intolerable…and again as I stated in my first post…the reason that I don’t frequent nor comment much anymore.

Just so you know, there are a lot of things Rickey blogs about on HIS blog that I couldn’t give 2 sh!ts about: like Lost, Ace Young, Carrie Underwood, Daughtry, Big Brother, Dancing With the Stars, Survivor, America’s Got Talent, etc…

There are a few things I can’t stand: like Constantine, McTatas and Paris (Bennet AND Hilton).

There are some things I wished he talked more about: How about Bo Bice? Bucky Covington? A little more about HEROES please?

But this is HIS blog and I have no desire to b!the about the stuff I don’t like. I just skip over them and move onto the stuff I DO like.

How freakin’ HARD is that? Is it physically impossible for you to SCROLL DOWN and move to the next blog?

And Rickey isn’t the only place in the AI universe to get information on other Idols. Blake has a mighty strong fan base with their own web pages. Same with Chris Richardson. And from what I can tell, their covering their boys pretty thoroughly.

Why are you only holding Rickey to some unrealistic standard? Or is the REAL issue is – you can’t stand Sanjaya getting more attention than YOU think he deserves.

The reason why no one is taking you seriously is because they can see through your BS.

Feaqs: By now, you’ve probably read Rickeys comments, especially in relation to the Fanjayas. We Fanjayas do approach our support of Sanjaya with much fervor. And due to the mistreatment he received from AI & much of the general media following his elimination, our zealous support has been warranted.

Feaqs: The focus in #8 was Sanjaya positivity. You are free to say that you don’t care for Sanjaya’s singing. That’s fine. It is when Haterjayas say nonsensical things against him without provocation. There are posts all over the internet & the attacks against the 17 yr old contestant was just relentless & uncalled for.
So Rickey’s is a safe haven for Sanjaya & all Sanjaya positivity. You do not have to like him. You can say you do not like him. But you cannot just attack him, without merit. I wouldn’t attack any idol without merit. If I don’t like a particular idol, that is o.k. But I will not grab unreasonable insults to hurl at that idol or that fanbase.

By the way, Feaqs, who is/are your idol favorite/s?

Snuffles…I see that you have chosen to take the interpretation of what others have said I meant…INSTEAD of what I actually said.

If you choose to believe that my comments were some “thinly veiled” attack on Rickey…then there is nothing I can do about it.

My original post (#5) is no different than your post (#30). My first paragraph meant just what it stated…it was refreshing to see a video other than of the contestant #7. That was all that paragrahp meant…said and done. There was no hidden meaning whatsoever in that paragraph.

The second paragraph (post #5) states that I was “dissappointed” …NOT “disgusted” as others have ascribed to me…in that there was mainly focus on one contestant (I’m aware that there has been a few other videos and threads started) but the Fanjayas have made a very enthusiastic endeavor to support him during this summer tour. I also state that I did limit (please interpret as “skipping over”) being on the site because of the subject matter…BUT…how some of you turn that into some vendetta agains Rickey…that I don’t understand.

The 3rd paragraph (post #5) states that I can’t wait for the new TV shows to begin…that’s because I figure Rickey will have new, and more content to blog about. Again, I’m not slamming Rickey…he can only blog about the info that is available. And how is the info I wrote there any different that what you’ve just explained as to the shows you like etc…and await to get more info about.

And as far as Rickey posting content…I have enough sense to know that this is Rickeys blog…and despite some’s protestations that I have it “in” for Rickey…I don’t. In fact, when I came across some content that I thought might be interesting to Rickey, I emailed him the links etc…and he was kind enough to post it. (Rickey, if you remember, I emailed you the link to Elliott singing acapella at the Flower Market in Deleware(?).

I’m not sure why you think I was whining…if its because of what others have stated or what you interpreted from my original post (#5). If you think stating that it’s refreshing to see a video of one of the other contestants as “whining”…then there is nothing I can do about that. But I don’t see that statement as a whine.

And Rickey…I’m truly sorry for screwing up Chris R. thread…and if you were offended…I apologize for that too…nothing I wrote was directed at you.

But some of the other stuff I wrote about others…YES…I meant every word of it…so maybe you can see that I don’t “hide” or “thinly veil” my comments. You don’t have to look for hidden meanings in my comments. I have no problem directing them straight at you.

Thank you…now that’s something we do agree on. I’m not a Hatejaya/Terrorjaya :lol …nor a Fanjaya. I’m dead in the ctr…I neither dislike him nor love him. I have heard people make totally uncalled comments about him and have defended him against such hated speech. Beleive it or not…I DO have one of Sanjayas songs in my i-Tunes library (Beseme`)

Again, my dissappointment this year is that there hasn’t been much of anything about the other 9 Idols…unlike last year when there was more diversity of what was going on in the Tour. But that statement isn’t an indictment against Rickey…I have no reason to think that he should cater to what I like only. And yes, when the subject matter is interesting to me…I move on.

Who are my favorites? It depends on which season. this season my 2 favs where Melinda & Phil, past seasons it was Elliott Y & Chris D, Carrie U, Fantasia B, Ruben S, and Clay A. I didn’t watch season 1…so I don’t have a fav from that season.

That song is 1 of my favorites & I have it also. So your favorite idols this year are Melinda & Phil. That is nice. Do you have their MP3s?

Feaqs! Your first comment is really unnecessary. It was stretched and pointless. You could have just thanked Rickey for the video and left at it. Everyone knows Rickey is like the No.1 Sanjaya fan and if I were him I would have been offended by what you said. You cant criticize what he posts on his blog because he is not obliged to anyone. At best you can only request. I find it really unbelieveable that you cant find another site which sing the praises of other idols and post their stuff because you know Sanjaya was (may be still is) the most hated contestant. If Sanjaya has 1 Rickey I would guess others will have many Rickeys (Sorry There is Only one Rickey but you know what I mean)

People please! I read Feaqs original email again – there are no insults to Sanjaya fans or anyone else. And the comment about Chris R were very tame, as opposed to folks like Heavyblow who only come to every Chris R thread to say obnoxious things about his singing. Please save your fighting for those that are doing the hatin. There are plenty of those on this site, and, having been a fan mainly of idols who were not universal favs (Constantine and Chris R), I’ve seen plenty of hatin.
I personally am not a fan of Sanjaya, so that means for the most part this summer I check in to Rickeys, because it’s such an awesome site and I LOVE SYTYCD, and ignore the Sanjaya stuff. To each their own … I’m not going to go on a Sanjaya thread and ignore him. But I kind of feel the same as Feaqs, it was nice to check in this am and see something different.
I also have to say that I’ve seen a couple people get hounded off this board because they’ve said the “wrong” thing about Sanjaya … which is a bummer because a lot of these people are the more decent folks like Feaqs who have some humor, don’t come here to just be negative, etc.
Sanjaya is kind of a unique phenomena. I like his spirit, but he’s not really the style of singer I like. He also, to some degree, created himself as a controversial character (the hair, overly flamboyant singing style at times). So there’s always going to be more controversy about him. People should be entitled to their opinions even on a site that has become heavily oriented towards Sanjaya. Why is it that people can say consistently obnoxious things about other contestants, but not Sanjaya? Myself, I’d rather try to keep it to the positive, or just try to avoid being unnecessarily harsh. I know I’m not always successful at that when someone (Phil) annoys me. However, Sanjaya fans seem to tend to be a little overly sensitive in my opinion. The only one really being bashed by the trolls in this thread was Chris, which again, is really lame.

It is just stirring trouble to come on the blog of the No.1 fan in Sanjaya’s universe and whine about the Sanjaya domination. Like I said Rickey’s site is among very few, countable using ur fingers in one hand even if you dont have all five intact, websites that are pro Sanjaya. The insults thrown at other contestants are nothing compared to what Sanjaya and his fans went through. So Sanjaya fans will be extremely protective about Sanjaya and Rickey’s site the No.1 Sanjaya fan site. Respect their feelings and dont say anything if you dont have anything nice to say.

The problem with Feaqs’ initial e-mail was the slight overkill. His/her displeasure with Rickey’s site’s concentration of everything Sanjaya encompassed the entire contents of #5 post. As JohnDoe said above, “It was stretched and pointless. You could have just thanked Rickey and left at it.”

Also unnecessary was the 4th par; “For those of you who are big fans of Sanjaya…I’m sure this summer has been heaven…but for those of us who couldn’t care less or don’t particularly care for him…it’s been true HELL!”

Would it not make sense to Google your idol, seek out sites favorable to him/her & comment your heart out rather than complain on a site devoted to a specific idol or idols other than your favorite because your choice isn’t receiving identical attention?

Actually, its them that owe ME an apology. It was me that was wrongly accused and my words twisted and intertwined with intent that I did not write, nor try to convey. Wow. This thread blew up unexpectedly. Is Chris Richardson really that controversial? LOL. Anyway, I’m not chasing anyone off the blog, and I think that we all just need to agree to disagree without disrespecting one another.

A couple of years ago all the fights here in the blog were very personal in nature. If you were ever around during the Fantasia attack and defend sessions oy… So thank you everyone for behaving in a civilized manner (I think).

As you guys will notice many different readers visit rickey.org and I am very thankful for that. Fights are ok but not too much. Humor is better.

Chris R has charm. I remember watching him sing a song (can’t remember the name) and starting to walk away and then stood transfixed in front of the TV and thought he did a da** good job. I actually clapped after his performance. I can’t remember the song, but it was a darn good performance. And then the next week he was voted off, but I think he and Chris S. really didn’t want to win “it all”, because Chris S. has said repeatedly he was happy to be in the top 10 to tour….and Chris S. is into promoting his band and his CD, so he used Idol for that…and I believe Chris R. Said something similar to that.

Anyway, from what I’ve been reading he’s a heck of a song writer and he’ll probably be writing songs versus performing.

And TMZ had an item about Jordin having a crush on him, and somebody made mention of him and Melinda being closer than close.

He must have the charm, the girls are throwing themselves at him and Blake (who I don’t understand why).

Also, folks – Jordin is repped and she’s recording songs for her CD. So that must mean she’s a) got a contract and it’s not announced; or b) her management 19E has her recording songs in order to shop it to a record company.

In any instance, she’s going to have a CD out this fall. She and Blake. The others we have no word whatsoever about.

To Feaqs: You have entered the universe of Sanjaya with this site. Notice the other threads? Notice how many messages are in those threads? Hardly none. But when you get to Sanj, it’s pandominimum and usually just by 5 people. They have their own little cult going.

I too like to see threads about other Idols, ex and otherwise.
I would like to see more about Jennifer Hudson, who it was just announced by the Queen herself has signed on to play Aretha. Terence Howard is Smokey and Billy Dee Wms is her father.

There are OTHER Idols. And I’m not a naysayer, but I am “inhaling” right now and will “exhale” when something substantive is announced about Sanjaya.
He’s my fave, I really like the kid, but I have my doubts about his marketability in the music world.

In post #34, you may have mistaken my gentle approach as “backing down” but my attempt was to calmly hear you so that you could hear me & ultimately hear the other Fanjayas regarding the right of the site owner, Rickey.org to display & furnish information on whomever appeals to him on his blogs, specifically Sanjaya Malakar.

We, the posters, navigate to Rickey’s site based on an attraction to what is offered. If in scrolling, lurking (like window shopping) we find nothing that whets the appetite, we move on. We do not attempt to “bully” or “insult” a site administrator into altering said administrator’s objective. We are mature enough (hopefully) & courteous enough to REQUEST inclusion of a specific interest. But we cannot insist that a site administrator see our wants/desires superceding his. If we are not pleased with this scenario, there is a vast internet wilderness, sites galore! Explore & check them out, Feaqs. You seem to be seeking something that you may not find here & that is o.k. But no one is attempting to seriously banish you. Just realize that this iz the Universe of Sanjaya. His solo is good too, but I’m a bit biased because I loved Blake’s so much. But Chris definitely sings it well and more than does the song justice.

Wow, do I sound upset? I’m not the one who is twisting a post by someone who merely commented that they enjoy seeing something new on the site …. I don’t get it, read Feaqs orginal post, it’s not upsetting. It’s not even upsetting to me – a fairly rabid Chris fan .

I like Rickey’s site because he has a great sense of humor and it’s really the best blog for reality shows on the web. And in case some of you haven’t noticed, it’s not titled Sanjaya.org, it’s Rickey.org. Rickey has been at this a lot longer than the Sanjaya phenomena, and I’m guessing that he’ll have a new favorite next year as we all do.
For me, the discussions on the Sanjaya threads are not of interest, so I don’t visit … but I come to Rickey’s site for many of the other great topics he covers, as well as some of the entertaining people who comment. Unfortunately I’ve watched a lot of those entertaining people being harassed this year, while others say blatantly obnoxious and mean things about other contestants constantly and skate by.

I’m not mad, however … just think it’s a little lame, esp when people escalate the comments without really reading the original post, and I thought I’d kick in for Feaqs since there seems to be a feeding frenzy happening here! Look back at Feaqs post and others he/she has submitted … Feaq’s isn’t a hater. He/she also makes me laugh – which I always like. I’m so used to the constant slamming of Chris that I wouldn’t have said anything if the Sany-ganging hadn’t started on feaqs!

Wow, Rickey … I have only been watching over the past 3 years … if the stuff with Fantasia got uglier than some of the stuff I’ve seen, that’s bad. I just have to say again, how cool your sight is! Esp since you have come over to the dark side with Chris R You are going to do what you will with the website – and you should because you are the best and even if pretty devoted to Sanjaya at the moment, you always put some tidbits out for the rest of us!

Aprylette, I’m sorry I wasn’t here sooner, honey. Feaqs, as a fanjaya, I’m thoroughly enjoying my Summer of Sanjaya, and I can understand it being a little “one note” here at times. In fact, a Chris Richardson blog was refreshing to me too, and as I said, he’s my least favorite this season (that’s an opinion, not a bash), but I really liked this particular performance. Your portrayal of Aprylette’s comment at 8 as an attack or assault seemed a bit strong, and she naturally defended herself, and from there it escalated.

Her ““Chris is good looking but I couldn’t honestly listen to his singing without a visual” is the equivalent of my niece’s comment to me that she likes Sanjaya’s voice as long as she doesn’t have to look at him, haha. It’s just an opinion, not some horrible offense.

But you then resorted to calling fanjayas loonies and “the incomparable idiocy that “some” of you Fanjayas spew” and then your bold statement that your insults are intentional.
Instead of lobbing insults, how about thinking through what you disagree with and trying to articulate that in a neutral way? I’m glad that you and Aprylette have found some common ground.

Fanjayas feel protective toward Sanjaya, but we’re lucid, reasonable folk for the most part (well, maybe not Sweetbee, lol). Statements about intentionally insulting Fanjayas are just unnecessarily belligerent.

Aprylette, I do not think feaqs said anything to “insist that a site administrator see our wants/desires superceding his.” Feaqs appreciates the site and Rickey–just wishes there were more AI stuff.

Snuffles, I don’t see anything wrong with stating an opinion that there’s too much Sanjaya and that it feels like hell to that person–an opinion. It does not express hatred toward Sanjaya, fanjayas, or Rickey–just a comment that Feaqs is unhappy. No big woop. Is it wrong to whine? I think not, although it might be a little unpleasant, because it’s, well, whiny. It’s wrong to hate but not to whine.

Girlygirl, in this feaqs hype I forgot to reply you lol. I really dont have much knowledge about western genres. I mean I would listened to songs from different genres and I wont have know which genre they belong to. Nor can I listen to a song and identify its genre. So within my knowledge, in country music genre I like very much the Rascal Flatts song Chris R sang on country night. I also like the Martina Mcbride song Jordin sang. And only recently I knew that a singer I listened to a lot from very young age and liked so much.. a singer whom I consider to be one of the greatest singers of all time, Jim Reeves was a country singer lol.

My fav Chris song from the season was “Geek in the Pink”. Anyone know if they let him do any Jason Mraz on the tour? I’m not really a big concert person, so won’t go to the AI tour (plus I’d really only pay to see Chris from this season … Chris R or Chris S). I would to to see a concert with ChrisR, Blake, and ChrisS who I keep fantasizing will do some stuff together. Although I think their styles are a bit too different for that to happen.

I forget, did Chris S make it on the tour … any report on how he is doing? I really can’t wait to see what Chris R and Chris S do … I actually think Chris S had one of the best voices this season. But for performance, song choice and delivery, style … I will take Chris R any day of the week. Okay, I’m rabid for Chris … no more yaya talk for me!

szjodic, Chris S seems to be a “quiet soul,” performer — won’t do anything phenominal but sing and not into all the hype. If this helps, I saw him at the LA concert! I really, really, REALLY enjoyed his wonderful, strong voice and the simplicity in which he delivered his performance!

I plan to purchase all of the contestants’ CDs (except Haley’s) whenever they are produced.

I honestly enjoy everyone of them.

Yeah, Chris is nasaly and I don’t mind that, helps when he does his beautiful runs — it’s just at certain points, say when he’s supposed to “belt” and “hold,” your sould feels that it shouldn’t sound so nasaly! But, yes, I too will definitely buy his CD. I think he’s truly a cutie-pie! IMO, he’s blushes, sign of humbleness, just makes my heart scream!

Talking about what “hell” it is for those of you who are not Fanjayas to come all the way over here during the awful summer to find out that people still are Fanjayas in addition to checking out so much else that is here (check Categories) and that the main interest is not other idols. The world is just that way.
Many of us are here because Rickey provides info on the ones that interest us and if they don’t, we don’t read those parts. You should hang out on AI forums so you can get fair & balanced for AI. Face it, your entire posting attitude is negative, including telling Chicago 48 you don’t know how he stands it here. Way to go. Hope you’re happier, having said that.

I hope your days improve though so you don’t feel so rotten, coming here to check up on things and finding it not to your liking again (most of us know what to do when that happens, go to a blog that has what we are interested in).

Rickey, just admit, it’s your blog and you should be able to focus on what you have the time to focus on AND what gets your interest. Otherwise, why bother. No one is paying you to be a shill for AI.

Again, though Chris went pretty flat, pitchwise i Florida during the opening of Hey Jude, he’s been really dead-center in later videos and he sings that opening just beautifully. That floating melodic singing is not easy either! His melismas are gorgeous on the videos from this tour.

Hi John Doe (62)–I forgot I said anything worth replying to That’s interesting that you can’t identify the country genre (what part of the world are you from?), but it does sound like it’s a genre that appeals to you. I don’t have a musical background to explain it to you. “twang” is the best I can come up with (drawly voices as much as banjo, fiddle, and other instruments), but I think country has a certain rhythm. Songs tend to be about cheatin’ hearts and “no one loves me, not even the dawg” and “she got religion while I got drunk”–that kind of thing (but you could say that of blues as well, but blues doesn’t twang and has a different rhythm). Anieb could probably explain country music’s differences from other genres very well. As country goes more mainstream, more pop is mixed in, which helps a little.

Yes, he does do that song, actually! There is a “Cake” medley, which starts off with Chris on acoustic guitar singing “Ain’t No Sunshine” that sets my heart all aflutter (LOL!). Blake walks out on stage and sings a little bit of that song, then they go into “Virtual Insanity” with Chris beatboxing for Blake, then they segue into “Geek in the Pink” with Blake beatboxing for Chris. It’s a really fun, strong performance, and they seriously have the whole audience eating out of their hands. Definitely a crowd pleaser – especially for the fangirls… young and old alike. LOL.

In the last few shows, once the song is over, they go into a call and response beatboxing duel type thing that is AWESOME. In Tacoma, when Blake got into the more intricate rhythms, Chris said “So, I bet my side can be louder than your side!” It was so cute. They didn’t do this early on in the tour, IIRC. At least they didn’t in Tampa, where I first saw the concert.

(Yes, I live in Orlando, but flew all the way across the country to see Blake at his homecoming show. Hey, it was during the week I already had scheduled for vacation, what can I say? I’m probably also going to the last show in Manchester in Sept. )

GirlyGirl45, I am from India, Asia. I have little technical knowledge about genres in western music. I think I may recognize Jazz because of its extreme complexity. Another important thing is, I cant understand the lyrics by listening. I always google the lyrics lol. So I wont be able to identify a song by the content of the lyrics. I can understand the typical use of Banjo Fiddle etc in country songs. Thanks for your explanation

GirlyGirl45, Haha you are right. I am just avoiding India to be mistaken as Indiana because when I used to go to chatrooms Americans always thought I meant Indiana when I said India. I too cant appreciate the beauty of Jazz. I understand it must be like the hardest genre born in US. Many Jazz musicians can easily put to shame musicians considered as gods in other popular American genres. I can see that they are extremely talented. But I cant appreciate the beauty. To be honest, it just sounds like taking a song and deliberately murdering it with all wrong notes lol. Someone on youtube commented on a jazz performance “He had a wrong note there” Another person responded “There are no wrong notes in Jazz. If it is one wrong note it is a mistake. If there are many then it is jazz” lol Thats how Jazz sounds to us who dont know the theory behind it. But I am lucky to be able to appreciate western classical music. Actually it is my most favorite kind of music. It took me time to get used to it but I got drowned in it soon. No music compares to it in my opinion. Beethoven is my favorite.

You give me more credit than due. I just have too much time on my hands so I google lyrics lol. Thanks for the international fanjaya project link I must see what I can do.

JohnDoe: So jazz “just sounds like taking a song and deliberately murdering it with all wrong notes.” Hahaha, yes, modern “fusion” jazz can be like that, like nails on a chalkboard. I like the older, classical jazz stuff and some cool jazz (Miles Davis, John Coltrane), as opposed to smooth jazz (Kenny G–horrid). Do you know the Kenny G joke? It goes, “You’re stuck in a room with Hitler, Bin Laden, and Kenny G. You have a gun but only 2 bullets. What do you do? Shoot Kenny G twice… just to make sure.” Terrible, I know.
I’m a late bloomer on classical, too. Now those are some guys who could put some notes together!
