“Somos el Mundo” (We Are The World Spanish Version) Full Artist List

Producer Emilio Estefan and his wife Gloria Estefan came up with the idea of translating the song and releasing a version for the Spanish language market, with all proceeds also slated to go to the We Are the World Foundation benefiting Haiti.


“Somos el Mundo,” was produced by Emilio Estefan and Quincy Jones together with Univision Communications who funded the production (and provided the production team and cameras) and will premiere the video, together with a one-hour special, probably by next week.

    The song will premier on the Cristina show on Univision Mon Mar 1. There is also supposed to be a 1 hour making-of special. Not sure if the special is before, during or after Cristina.

    We think David has a solo but we’re not sure. A couple of fans questioned other people who were there in Spanish and if the translation is correct then he has a solo. And several other celebs who took part said very nice things about David on Twitter.

    Before and after traveling to Miami for Somos el Mundo David was co-writing and recording for his 2nd pop album in LA. He worked with Emanual Kiriakou, Dapo Torimiro, Nasriworld, JackieBoyz, Andre Merritt, LadyV, David Hodges, Jessie Cates and more.
