Adam Lambert sings an upbeat version of “Whataya Want From Me” on the Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien.
This was nice! Adam changed things up a bit just like he did on American Idol. I think Adam really wants to sing dance music. Why doesn’t he do “For Your Entertainment” anymore? Maybe they should have chosen a faster song for his second single (well technically third, if you include “Time for Miracles”).
On the iTunes singles chart “For Your Entertainment” is #93 and “Whataya Want From Me” is #134. Why are hits so hard to come by? Adam had all the marketing behind him — including a controversy that rocked the media for a couple of days. Maybe controversy doesn’t sell records but instead generates blog traffic and advertising. Maybe controversy is why some media people love to talk about him. This was supposed to be a mega hit. Strut was supposed to be amazing. I’m crushed. Jingle Ball doesn’t even let Adam sing a partial set — they just make him host. Uggh. When will it be about the music again?

He did a really fabulous job tonight!! and personally, I like it that he sings Whataya Want From Me instead of For Your Entertainment. It takes awhile for songs to get on the radio, but when and IF this song does make it on the radio, it’s a guarantee hit. it is beautiful

Adam was very good on Conan. The audience was
cheering loudly, and Conan told him several times
that he did a great job and was glad to have him on the show. I was very pleased to watch him and hear that gorgeous voice.

I think this may be his best performance of this song so far. That part at “it’s me” was such a lovely surprise. This was amazing!
This is very good performance.
I made a mistake watching him on HD…but he can sing.
He may not have perfect skin but I think he’s a lot more beautiful than some people who do.
He sounded like he was constipated…

Maybe overall on Itunes his numbers are lower than expected, but on the pop chart his FYE is at #35 and WDYWFM is at #41. And his MV is #2 on the pop chart!
Just want to mention that there is a world outside the USA.
In Canada, on the singles chart FYE is #28 and WWFM is #149 (previously was #161 today). The album is at #74. On the pop charts, FYE is #19 and WWFM is #49. The album is sitting at #12 on the Pop Chart. His MV is #2.
In Israel, FYE is the #1 album. Internationally, FYE is getting radio play, like Singapore and Peru.

Adam is a fabulous performer who is far ahead of his time. He’s breaking new ground in a homophobic country that still perfers its “****” to remain in the closet. Too gay, too proud, and unapologetic, never change Adam. Like it or not, you’re carrying a heavy load on your young shoulders. Gay boys, and girls are watching you. I wish someone like you were around when I was a teen. Having said that, I’m glad I have been able to witness you in my lifetime.

Adam sang beautifully on Conan. His album is doing fine (getting more radio plays by the day), and even better outside the US. He is going to be an international star in no time. It’s too bad most of America is still afraid of someone who is different and risky; they are missing out on a fantastic album! But the Europeans will get him, I have no doubt about that.

Hmmm, another show where Adam wasn’t really given any time to talk. IF they had wanted Adam to be given couch time to talk to the audience, he would have been. But they didn’t even try to squeeze him in. Any conversation was only heard between Adam and Conan.
For some huge “future superstar” (lol), they are certainly keeping him muzzled. This song may be getting a few spins on radio but it’s not enough for people to go and buy the cd. As of closing yesterday and with over 70% of the sales in, Adam’s cd had already fallen from #21 last week to #34 this week.
Funny too that the Offical Press Release for SYTYCD for the finale tonight has Lopez and Blige in the headlines with only a tiny mention of the other musical acts on the show. Wow – that is great promotion for the “next world superstar”.
Reality is a hard thing to face, but Adam did this all to himself, by himself.
