??????? Sanjaya keeps showing up because he does not get voted off. LOL Now, if he got voted off, BUT still showed up, then something might could be said about that. What is he to do? Those who are voting for the worst (Sanjaya) and who are into the JOKE of it (and are voting for him) are causing him to keep coming back and singing yet another song, BADLY, that we can laugh at.

I don’t get the inspiration of it that you WANT to see as being there. HE knows he is doing badly. In the last performance he said he wanted to prove this time, that he really CAN sing, meaning he knows he has NOT yet proven it. Still has not, LOL. BUT, what is he to do BUT show up. Find inspiration in the firemen who ran into the buring towers on 9/11, to try to save lives, and who are now dying and suffering from destroyed lungs. NOT Sanjaya showing up because he does not get voted off. THEN Phil or Hayley are JUST as inspiring as Sanjaya. Hayley, who screeches and squawks through songs, just as Sanjaya whispers, strains and croaks through his songs, did not get voted off and will be back next week. OH MY, I’m inspired. LOL ???????

Candle602, OH MY, you interpret in REVERSE. I was LAUGHING that someone would find INSPIRATION in the fact that sanjaya shows up, week after week. He shows up because he has not been voted off. What else is he supposed to do? He shows up, showing his grin, and stumbles his way through a song. Hayley shows up, shows her legs, and stumbles her way through a song, BECAUSE she has not been voted off. ???????

I was suggesting PERSPECTIVE. I was suggesting being inspired by someone who actually does something inspiring, rather than someone showing up because he has not been voted off, and is therefore SUPPOSED to show up. IT is OTHERS who are taking something way too seriously, (Sanjaya) and WORSHIPPING at his feet. LOL

The opening article about him basically said that he can’t sing, but so what? The article PRAISED him for singing LIVE. ????? Well, Doolittle is singing LIVE too, and Kiki, and THEY CAN SING. It was an absurb article based on the strange adulation of Sanjaya, forgetting he is still on, NOT because of a fan base, but because of a JOKE BASE. ???????

Good luck to Sanjaya especially after all the attention (mostly bad) that he is getting from the media. I hope Sanjaya sings really great next week and shows America that he really can sing,as I knew all along. Sanjaya has a beautiful voice and each week he gets better.

rozny, THINK! What harsh realities of life? He is a pampered and spoiled little boy. He did not escape from Iraq, after his parents were all killed, and make his way to America, walking through the desert, hungry and thirsty, making his way to a ship, and hiding himself on board, in order to sing in the AI competition. ????? He is in a singing competion, with the likes of LaKisha and Dolittle, and he CAN’T SING. And people, like you, behave as if it is MEAN to notice that. ????????

If there were a contest between who is the most handsome, Brad Pitt or Danny Devito, would it be MEAN to notice that it is Brad Pitt? And I LOVE Danny. Good Guy, good actor. BUT……… ????? Now, some might vote for Danny, for the joke of it, but would it be MEAN to keep in mind that was the case? THINK! Danny might win, because of the JOKE VOTES, BUT is he more handsome than Brad?

One turns on their tv, and they LISTEN to the singers, and they hear Doolittle, and go OH MY. And they hear Sanjaya, and go OH MY, for a different reason. LOL Come on. Wake up and smell the chai. You think he’s cute, okay. He’s cute. But what does that have to do with wanting to buy his CD, or attend a concert. AND, oh my, if he is gay, as I suspect he is, he will be EATEN alive by the media. Look at what Clay has had to endure. His parents were NOT Thinking. He is TOO young, TOO vulnerable. I want to PROTECT him. He should have done this when he as OLDER, and more able emotionally and mentally to deal with what might happen to him.

He is a singing competition and can barely make it through one song. OH MY, if he makes it to when he has to sing 2 songs, he will need oxygen. ????????

somebody, you attempted to contradict one young man’s struggle to achieve his dreams against a nation’s struggle of larger scale over terrorism by making disproportional comparison between the two. when i say harsh realities of life, that includes my full understanding of substantial differences of levels and dimensions from one reality to another, which are all relative. no one needs to be reminded of how inspirational the heroes of 9/11 were, or how another nation dealt with 200,000 dead tsunami victims and about 500,000 survivors in the midst of its own grief. every endeavor in life has its own magnitude. when you weigh sanjaya against 9/11 or whatever circumstances you find exceptional in life, it can not be construed as other than feeding your own sarcasm. no, it is not mean to notice somebody being not as good as the other, but venting disparaging remarks is . even worse is using the pretense of protection.

Rozny, you Sanjaya people are ALL OVER the place with it. EVERY contestant that has EVER been on AI is someone seeking to fulfill their dream. Sanjaya is NOT the only one. Doolittle is seeking to fulfill her dream. Why is Sanjaya INSPIRING, and she not? It is QUITE interesting. Kevin Covais (Chicken Little) was, like Sanjaya. A young (too young) boy seeking to fulfill a dream, hoping he was as good of a singer, on a National Level, as his parents and friends had told him that he was, back home. He was a cute guy, a sweet guy, BUT he had a limited voice. SAME with Sanjaya. It is NOT mean to notice that, but you Sanjaya people act as if it is.

Vote for Sanjaya, because he is TRYING, is your plea. In the MeanTime, there is Doolittle and Lakisha, as good as the GREATS. They are not TRYING. They are DOING. People are treating Sanjaya as if he is a WOUNDED BIRD, that we must patiently wait for to heal. And if we say, he is NOT a good singer, on any sort of professional level, we are MEANIES. It is bizarre. You Sanjaya people take it PERSONALLY, as if YOU are Sanjaya. ??????? PERSPECTIVE is such a good thing, I believe.

TO: DateAndTime, LOL I guess Danny should win that contest UNLESS, out of PITY, or as a JOKE we vote for Brad. LOL I mean, he MIGHT lose the weight, someday. I hear he’s trying to. AND, don’t want to hurt his feelings. AND, it is inspiring to me that he wants to be thought of as being better looking than Danny. That is his dream, can’t take that away from him. somebody, let us just agree to disagree. our views shall never meet.

i voiced my strong reservations on the atmosphere of hate caused by indiscriminate attacks from sarcastic people like you on some of the not-so-prefered idol hopefuls (sanjaya, haley, phil etc) and their supporters. meanwhile, you see that as being a blind cry-baby fan insistent on sanjaya’s artistic excellence. that has never been the case.

but as for the inspiration, i stand by my opinion. inspirations in life are not derived from individuals with spectacular achievements only, it could be from any human being depending on different circumstances, different magnitudes, and different set of values.

AGREED, because you people hear someone saying that they do not think that Sanjaya is a good singer, as being negative, or cruel, or mean, or attacking, or being personal, or whatever. It is strange. And then you try to make it something BIGGER, more cosmic, more philosphical than what it is, in a lecturing way. AND to try to reason or put into perspective is a waste of time.

He is inspiring, but Doolittle is not. He has a dream, but Lakisha does not. He represents someone standing against the harsh realities of life when he has obviously had a good and pampered life, with a devoted family. He is TRYING, but none of the rest are. ????? And on and on and on it goes. Sanjaya has been romanticized into being representive of something of mystic proportions, that he can NOT live up to. He is JUST a young (too young) guy, who is in a singing competition, and can’t sing that well. That’s all. But now he is the VICTIM of a joke. BUT, shhhh, we are supposed to PRETEND he has multitudes of fans who keep him on. And, SHHHHHH, don’t criticize him. Criticize the others, but NOT him. Hands off…….WHY? SHHHHHHH He might find out. ??????? It truly is bizarre. But SHHHHHHHHH! Sanjaya, you are INCREDIBLE!

If Sub Pop is taking notice, that is a big deal. No, that is a BIG deal. Even if Sanjaya and Sub Pop are both from Seattle, there are many groups that tried to work with SP to no avail. So same town alliances are not at work here. Go Sanjaya!! Bright future ahead, amen!

In an interview, Nigel said “I think Sanjaya is going to WIN in this.” He said he probably won’t win the competition, which we all know with all the hate going on right now… but he has just stated what we were trying to point out all along. It doesn’t matter if he ends up being the American Idol or not, he has already WON in the sense of having a successful career after the show.

Out of all the contestants this season and probably all the seasons, he’s the single most talked about ever. He’s going to be the one that talk show hosts will want on their shows. He’ll be the one that record labels will want to sign. In fact, I read an article that said that record labels are already lining up waiting to sign him as soon as he leaves the show. I can see him going into the film industry too.

I’m just sharing this bit of information with the Fanjayas, not trying to prove a point to the bashers or anything so no need to bite my head off.

Too many are bunged up about this contestant, and I can’t understand why. I do not see him as anything but someone who has been given an opportunity and is trying to work it to its full potential.

Since when do we tell people to give up when the chips are down. To subcomb to people’s opinions? To go away and not even try because someone else might not like what you are doing?
My God – is this the kind attitude all of you anti-Sanjaya folks live in your own personal life?That when you see a 17 year old kid not following the those rules you’ve set for yourself, it bugs you????
This kid is doing nothing to deserve the bad press and opinion he is getting. The game will play out and the most popular contestant will win. I really doubt that it will be Sanjaya. I love that he can get up there every week and does his best, using all the assets that he has. But it is obvious that he is not the best and in an upcoming week he will be eliminated.

People are just so impatient with the game. The universe will unfold as it should…

EEKtheCat, what crap!!!! There is no god, no “should”. It is All randomness. It is all people either acting out meanly, or nicely, or a whim, or with intellect. It is often mayhem. It is a play being written, as we go along. And it is nature doing it’s thing, without divine purpose. ETC

Here we go again, bloating the Sanjaya thing up into mystic and mythic proportions, as I wrote about above. LOL BUT, whatever!!!! It is JUST what it is. A too young kid, singing in a singing competition, who can’t sing that well, being kept on by VoteForTheWorst, and HowardStern and his peeps, and PerezHilton and his peeps, and all those who have jumped onto the joke of it, without a LEADER telling them to do so, but just for the JOKE of it. AND, added to that, are some who vote for him who, for whatever reason, want to hear him singing on their Ipod, and buy tickets to his concerts. UGH!!! But, whatever.

AND people are SIMPLY SIMPLY SIMPLY reacting to that. That is ALL that it is. Sanjaya can not turn water into wine. He can’t heal the sick, or raise the dead. There is NO divine purpose. There is NO SHOULD. There just is what is. GOODNESS, Sanjaya people, descend to earth. Let go of the helium balloon taking up to where the air is too thin and affects your thinking.

I do not think Sanjaya has talent either. I think he should have been voted off way before now. In fact I think he should never have made it to the top 24. I really don’t know what the judges were thinking, unless they were thinking eactly what has happened. Every year they need a Hawian girl, or a chicken little type. Maybe they chose Sanjaya so AI would have a big controversy like they are having. Who knows but there seems to be a “Sanjaya” every year. Good people go while the bad talent stays. You’d think they would get new tricks up their sleeves to make the show interesting.
Now as far as Sanjaya being inspirational! NO WAY, he is just a joke that people keep on for that very reason. A JOKE. I am sorry but the boy is no good and is not an inspiration to me in any way. But I certainly don’t compare this subject to national tragedies…
