(Here’s Noelle’s Gleecap of tonight’s episode of Glee: Hairography)
This week is all about distractions on Glee. No one is ready to deal with things going on in their lives and set out in search of ways to take their minds off of them. Quinn wants to figure out the future for her baby, Terry has to figure out the future of her non existant baby, and Rachel and Finn are still confused about their relationship.
Will is suspicious of Sue once again. What else is new? Sue is up to something about sectionals and Will is trying to find out what it is. He thinks she’s leaking set lists to the competing schools so he decides to pay them a visit. The first school on his list is apparently run by Eve. It’s one of those correctional schools for criminal students. She denies any involvement so to apologize, Will offers them his auditorium for practice. They show up and do a flashy version of Bootylicious by Destiny’s Child. There’s lots of jiggling involved. Will looks worried.
Quinn is confused about what she plans to do for her baby. She wants to raise it but not with Finn. She decides to give Puck a second chance and tries to spend some time babysitting with him to get a feel how taking care of children together would be. To distract Finn, she asks Kurt to give Rachel a sexy makeover. And by sexy, I mean slutty. Either way Rachel looks hot. It works and certainly gets Finn’s attention. Rachel confesses to Kurt that she’s in love with Finn. Nice, that’s something they have in common. Kurt doesn’t love these shared feelings and sabotages Rachel’s makeover. She ends up looking like slutty Sandy from Grease.
Terry is panicking after learning that Quinn wants to keep her baby. She’s worried that it might be time to tell Will the truth. Her sister convinces her to distract Will instead. All about the distractions this week. She buys him an old car to fix up. He loves it and spends most of his time on it. Her plan is working. However, Will realizes it might be time to move on from this sort of distraction now that he’s going to be a father. He trades in the old car for a van. Perfect timing once Quinn finds out Puck is still a manwhore. She decides to give the baby to Terry because it wouldn’t be right to raise her.
Will’s solution to being flashy means giving the Glee kids wigs and having them perform a mashup to the title song from Hair and Crazy In Love by Jay Z and Beyonce. I’m not a fan of the flipping hair distraction. Rachel is right. It distracts from talent. They’re starting to look like Britney Spears in her womanizer video. She was also a fan of the mega hair flipping to distract from her dancing failures.
To show them how it’s done, the second competing school shows up to perform Imagine by John Lennon. They are a school for the deaf and perform it stripped down with sign language. The Glee kids join in and Will realizes how moving a solid performance with no gimmicks can be. So he decides to assign the kids to perform True Colors by Cyndi Lauper sitting on stools. Tina solo! In his new spirit, Will hands over their new set list to Sue who appreciates it.
Bad idea. Sue IS a cheater and she turns right around and gives the information to the other schools. She wants Will to fail and look like a joke. I understand that Sue is our resident villain but after the Wheels episode i was starting to love her. Don’t make me hate you Sue.
