(Here’s Noelle’s Vcap of tonight’s episode of V: It’s Only the Beginning)

It’s the last episode of the year for V and they’re intent to go out with a bang. This week, Erica and Jack team up with Ryan and Georgie to investigate the latest threat from the Visitors. Meanwhile, Josh is facing the repercussions of his decision last week, something’s up with Ryan’s girlfriend Valerie, and Tyler continues to prove what a naive boob he is. Is everyone falling into a trap?

The V’s latest worldwide message is about a new “vitamin” injection that will be made available to all. They can’t cure the common cold but this injection will help fight off other ailments and diseases. Sounds good but i’m wary enough about taking a flu shot so I probably wouldn’t take an alien one either. Erica, Jack, Ryan and Georgie are still trying to map out their next step. That next step would be to follow a known V and see what they can find. This already has so many things in the way. One being that Georgie would rather cut the guy open and the other being that Erica doesn’t trust Ryan once she discovers he himself is a Visitor.

The V leads Erica and Co. to a clean room filled with decaying bodies. The Visitors are experimenting on humans. Yikes. Looks like they’re not doing a very good job. They’re mixing their own drugs into the human flu vaccine. Whatever they’re planning, they’re trying to get as many people as possible. One by one. Their vitamin shot is legit but it’s a distraction. Whoa. For a second I thought Jon Stewart was attacking Ryan but it’s just another V. Erica shoots him but doesn’t get to Georgie in time who takes a bullet. He’s okay but proves he’s probably not the best person to depend on.

So it seems Dale wasn’t put into some alien induced coma like I thought. He was murdered by Josh who is part of the 5th column undercover on the ship. Ana is pissed when she hears about Dale and is very determined to find the one responsible. Ana suspects Josh and it’s all very tense. Before Josh can admit to anything, his buddy takes the fall for him. But at a price. Under Ana’s command, Josh is forced to “skin” his friend for punishment. Ouch. Did he survive that?

Tyler can’t talk to his mom lately because she’s busy trying to save the world. So instead he’s seeing Valerie for therapy. Good, because in my opinion you need it. Ana and Lisa want Tyler for something. They keep saying he’s ready. Ready for what? Ready for massive amounts of manipulation if you ask me. Lisa takes Tyler to meet her mother, Ana who is delighted. She spends some time with him and takes him to the engine room. A real treat for a kid like him who loves mechanical things. He’s the only human to have ever seen it. Oh wake up Tyler! It seems like they’re bribing him. Manipulating him for the moment they make the switch for whatever it is that they need him for. Oy. Ana you can have him.

Valerie who has a heart condition hasn’t been feeling great lately. She decides to take a trip to the V healing center to see if they can help her. They can! Yay. However, during their tests they find out something else. She’s pregnant with Ryan’s baby. You know what that means. It’s the long awaited storyline fans of the original show have been waiting for. The half human alien lizard baby. This is gonna be good.

Not everyone is getting great news from the healing centers. The V’s tell Chad that he is going to develop a brain aneurysm and will die. He’s shocked and his professional demeanor disappears. They tell him they can heal him but there is of course, a long waiting list. You know to get to the front of that list they’re going to want something in return. Watch yourself Chad.

Ahh! Jack is minding his own business in his church when one of the nutty Visitors from earlier comes in and stabs him. Gasp. Save Jack! He’s my favorite. What does ABC have against me? As if that wasn’t bad enough, the episode ends as we get a glimpse of hundreds of ships on their way to earth. That can’t end well.
