“Overrated” blah blah blah. Who the f* cares?! He’s so f*ing adorable! One might even say f*able. F*ability aside, however, this week’s performance was outstanding. Even Danyl’s most ardent critics would have to concede that.

im not a critic, but if i was id concede nothing. that was bad half of the time, major pitch probs. Its obvious Simon is on drugs when he does this show

Ugh! I thought this was one of his more disappointing performances. Whenever he sings a slow ballad, he winds up being very off-key and not singing the melody. He did the same thing on the movie theme night.

Danyl Johnson – “We are the Champions” – What do they see in this guy? Are they all stoned? Wow. His voice is thin at times, his tone is boring, he still performs like he’s doing it for himself in a 360 degree mirror. It was lifeless, he’s still a middling, prima dona douche. Pimpage a mammoth turn off. Kris & Adam (in particular) blew him away in the Idol finale. Wish he’d just go away. 2/5

The only one other person who I have actually seen do justice to the performance this Queen song ( other than Freddie Mercury, who is one of a kind of course ) is none other than Adam Lambert.

Singing this song has truly exposed Danyl’s limitations.

I don’t watch this show so this is the first time seeing Danyl sing since I watched his audition, but I have to admit that… that was very pitchy and while its obvious he can bust out those big notes, he doesn’t seem to have a whole lot of control over his voice and where its going. This is just my honest assessment. However, my guess is that those who thought this was brilliant or exceptional are only hearing the SONG and not the SINGER because this song is truly amazing and would give goosebumps to anyone hearing it as long as the singer was even remotely adequate.

You loved it, Rickey? I know you like Danyl, but I don’t think I could be such a fan of anyone to avoid the truth so well. I got to the end of the line “We are the champions, my frieeendd” and had to turn it off. It was so offkey and just painful to hear and to watch.

Why is Simon making Danyl sing the same songs as Adam Lambert. He says that Danyl “begged” to sing this song, but Simom should have advised against it. Once Adam Lambert sings a song like this on a very similar(almost word for word) show, the song should be retired for at least alittle while. It’s too soon, people can’t help but make comparisons. Since I’m a huge Adam fan I think he sang it better. It would be pretty hard to out sing Adam.

Wait. That was like an R&B interpretation of the song? ok…In fact I wouldn’t even mind it being even more R&B-y. But sorry our boy Gokey coulda pulled that off much better. They have a similar sound. Thick chords is my guess. But this kid to me is not an interesting sound where Gokey does have a unique very listenable one. I feel sorry for him because he’s really really trying and I don’t see anything wrong with his attitude. He’s learning like he said. But Simon is a crack head for this. HEY – is that more FOG, Simon? Both times I watched Danyl there was fog. The same stuff that Simon benched about in Adam Lambert’s finale performance. Scorning the coat and fog. hrmph

I agree with the earlier comment that the judges must have been listening to the song (great) rather than the singer (mediocre) on this one. Danyl is no Adam Lambert. In fact–and I hate to admit this–I think even Kris Allen sounded better than Danyl on this one. Kris has a weak voice compared to Adam and hits a lot of flat notes, but at least his was a sincere & exhuberant performance, while Danyl was all over place and navel gazing.
